Amanda Seyfried has decided it’s time to move on from her longtime Hollywood Hills home, marking a permanent shift to the East Coast.
The veteran actress—best known for her turns in the films Mean Girls and Mamma Mia! as well as her Emmy-winning performance in the TV miniseries The Dropout—has put a nearly $3.2 million price tag on the traditional L.A. residence she picked up from her Jennifer’s Body costar Adam Brody in early 2011 for $1.85 million. Before that, it was owned by Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst. Built in 1916 and updated by Seyfried, the property is listed with Justin P. Huchel of Carolwood Estates.

Set beyond gates and high hedges on just under a quarter-acre, the white, clapboard-clad structure offers three bedrooms and two full bathrooms, plus a powder room. Roughly 2,700 square feet across two levels showcases a vintage country house aesthetic paired with dark hardwood flooring and antique light fixtures throughout.
Steps lead up to a small flagstone porch and portico entry, which features a bright orange-red door and a classic bay window. Inside, a living room sporting a wood-burning fireplace connects to a sunroom on one side and a formal dining room on the other. A blue-and-white kitchen adjoins a floral wallpapered breakfast nook and lounge area, while an upstairs primary suite has a seating area and a tucked-away office space lined with windows.

In addition to a detached garage that has been converted into a gym, the backyard is dotted with gardens and mature trees and a long rectangular swimming pool flanked by pergola-shaded loungers. The popular Runyon Canyon hiking trails are also just steps away.
Seyfried placed her Los Angeles property on the market because she has fully committed to a rustic lifestyle at the 1930s Catskills farm she bought in 2013 and shares with her husband, actor Thomas Sadoski, their two children, and a cadre of rescue animals. She also maintains a Manhattan pied-à-terre.
