Former NFL Star Chris Simms Is Selling His Equestrian Estate in Connecticut for $8 Million

The NFL season may have just ended, but the former quarterback Chris Simms is hoping to score a touchdown of a real-estate deal.

Simms and his wife, Danielle, have listed their home in Greenwich, Connecticut, for $8 million. Simms spent his time in the NFL playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Denver Broncos, and the Tennessee Titans before becoming a sports analyst. His younger brother was also a quarterback, and his dad was the MVP of Super Bowl XXI.

Brick fireplaces heat up many of the gathering spaces.

The Simmses are longtime Greenwich residents: Before moving into this property, they sold their previous home in the neighborhood for a hair under $2.7 million. Back then, the couple wanted more space and room for horses—the acreage includes three horse stalls with a tack room and three paddocks. Now they’re planning to move out of state, and their abode is on the market with Monica Webster at Douglas Elliman.

“Being the steward of this remarkable home and property has been a true privilege,” the couple said in an email to Robb Report. “Our family has shared so many unforgettable moments here, from leisurely trail rides with our horses throughout the neighborhood to enchanting holiday celebrations in the historic barn.”

The 3,700-square-foot farmhouse sprawls across a large main level with plenty of gathering spaces. Wide-plank antique floors and exposed wood beams give a rustic feel to the living room, family room, and media room, all of which receive an added sense of warmth from preserved brick fireplaces. The modern kitchen is outfitted with gleaming white cabinetry, and the food you cook up here can be served to guests in the nearby dining room.

From the primary suite’s closet you have access to a private office.

Toward the back of the main floor is the newly built primary suite: Cathedral ceilings top off the bedroom and the bathroom, where a large window looks out on the rolling meadows outside. In between the two spaces is a bespoke dressing room, where a staircase leads up to a private office. In total, there are six bedrooms and five full bathrooms, and the lower level also includes a rec room and a gym. This is a pro athlete’s home, after all.

Outside, the four acres of land have been primed for caring for horses. But even those not inclined to look after animals will find amenities to their taste. The historic barn has been turned into a party space, and there’s an additional pool house with a kitchenette. It’s an idyllic retreat that the Simmses have created, a place you can imagine retiring to after a lengthy career on the football field or in the boardroom.
