This $11.5 Million St. Regis Penthouse Combines Sleek Italian Design With Sweeping Chicago Views

This is not a standard developer unit. Instead, it’s a custom-crafted home in the sky that took over a year to finalize. Set on the entire 76th floor of the 101-story St. Regis Chicago—an undulating hotel and residential supertall designed by Jeanne Gang of Studio Gang—the sprawling sanctuary commands panoramic views of Lake Michigan, Navy Pier, Monroe Harbor, and the Chicago skyline beyond.

Alessandra and Johannes van Zuydam—mother and son members of the billionaire family behind the French-Belgian cookware icon Le Creuset—bought the condo in 2024 for $8.3 million, per Crain’s Chicago Business. They then enlisted Brazil-based designer Matheus Lima to outfit the space with finishes and furniture that elevated it beyond the standard developer specs.

Appointed with Roberto Cavalli and Pininfarina decor, the four-bedroom, five-bath residence is now being offered fully furnished for $11.5 million with Rafael Murillo of Compass. The roughly 5,800-square-foot layout showcases wide-plank hardwood floors, 11-foot ceilings, Armani/Casa wall coverings, automated window treatments, and steel-framed walls of glass. Expansive terraces face east and west.

A foyer off a private elevator gallery leads to a parlor, along with a living room anchored by a soaring fireplace clad in imported Italian marble. A formal dining room sports a decorative glass wine display and a mirrored accent wall reflecting the lake, while a hallway passes by a butler’s pantry on the way to a sleek eat-in kitchen outfitted with Snaidero cabinetry, stone countertops, and integrated Gaggenau appliances. An adjacent family room has a built-in entertainment wall.

A kitchen features a white oval table and dark contemporary chairs beneath a glass orb chandelier.

Tucked away in a private corner, the primary suite features dual closets and a luxe bath wrapped in book-matched marble, complete with a soaking tub and a steam shower. Three additional guest suites each have their own marble bath and walk-in closet. A designer powder room, meanwhile, joins a dedicated laundry and utility room.

Topping it all off are plenty of amenities courtesy of an $8,876-per-month HOA charge, including 24-hour door staff, valet parking, and room service, along with indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a health club, a private wine storage and tasting room, and a sky lounge on the 47th floor. The building, in the Lakeshore East area, also houses the acclaimed Miru and Tre Dita restaurants.
