Office developer Helical is letting the fifth and sixth floors of its three-building campus The Bower at Old Street in London’s financial district to artificial intelligence (AI) platform incident.io.
The platform, which works with firms including Netflix, Etsy and Lovable, will take 19,628 sq ft of The Bower’s available space from June, bringing occupancy of the 312,000 sq ft-capacity building up to 87%.
A Helical spokesman declined to say what incident.io was paying for the space or what period had been agreed.
Fashion retailer FarFetch and booking software firm Fresha.com recently took three floors each at the building.
Helical has been focused on finding new tenants following flexible workspace provider WeWork pulling out in 2023 after taking 59,000 sq ft in November 2016, a year after the campus was bought for £248m from a joint venture owner.
Helical chief executive Matthew Bonning-Snook said: “Incident.io join our roster of leading technology occupiers at The Bower, where we have seen a considerable uptick in interest for the remaining space, particularly from the tech community deploying AI in their products.
“Such companies recognise the attraction of well-connected campuses that allow clustering to leverage agglomeration effects, future growth potential and a vibrant creative culture.”
JLL and Compton acted for Helical and Making Moves acted for incident.io.
Helical’s London developments include 373,000 sq ft of commercial space and 470 homes above Bank, Southwark and Paddington stations, in partnership with Transport for London.
Last April, it sold 100 New Bridge Street for £333m.
