Rowley named GPE leasing director as Wilder to step down

Marc Wilder, leasing director at property group Great Portland Estates (GPE), will step down in April following the end of its financial year and is to be replaced by Simon Rowley.

Rowley, recently appointed to GPE’s executive committee, will assume responsibility for HQ leasing and marketing, while also maintaining oversight of the firm’s fully managed operations.

“For much of his GPE career, Simon worked in Marc’s team, playing a pivotal role in helping to deliver leasing success, before taking on flex leasing as part of his role as director of flex workspaces in 2023,” said the firm.

GPE added that Wilder, who has been a member of the firm’s executive committee since 2015, was leaving to pursue new opportunities.

It said Wilder “has been a central figure in many leasing successes over the years, helping to build a high-performance team and, most notably, spearheading some 3m sq ft of deals across our most significant office and retail developments”.

The firm added: “In recent years, Marc has blended his commercial and creative skills to help us refine the design of our current schemes to best meet prospective customer needs. Through his leadership of the marketing team, he has helped shape their marketing programme for the rapidly evolving digital age.”

GPE said that following Wilder’s role in pre-lets at 30 Duke St and Quantexa at The Delft, “now is a natural time for him to seek a fresh challenge and we wish him well in the next chapter in his career”. It added: “We would like to thank Marc for his many years of service and dedication and wish Simon well in his new role.”
