Almost four years after Playboy model and Girls Next Door star Holly Madison and entrepreneur Pasquale Rotella sold their Los Angeles home to Grammy-nominated songwriter Justin Tranter for nearly $10.3 million, the erstwhile couple’s onetime residence has once again surfaced for sale. The century-old estate in the Windsor Square neighborhood is now going for $13.4 million, after first listing two months ago for $500,000 more. Louis Maskin, Kennon Earl and Thomas Davila of Compass share the listing.
Records show Madison and Rotella acquired the property in summer 2018 for $8.7 million, shortly before finalizing their divorce in February 2019 after five years of marriage. They subsequently reimagined the place with a Roaring Twenties meets Great Gatsby vibe before transferring it to Tranter in late 2021 for around $1.7 million off the original asking price.

Built in 1914 for banking executive Milton Getz and designed by the noted architect team of Hunt & Burns, the four-story structure has a total of eight bedrooms and nine baths across roughly 12,000 square feet. Ornate living spaces are adorned with hand-painted wallpaper, art deco-inspired light fixtures, and elaborate crown molding, while custom gold mirrors and artwork double as TVs.
Hidden away behind gates on over half an acre, the residence is mostly obscured from the street by hedge-covered walls. A walkway passes by a manicured lawn on the way to a portico entry sporting black-and-white tile floors. Once inside, a double-height foyer with an impressive carpeted staircase flows to a gold-hued living room warmed by a fireplace and a chandeliered dining room with pocketing doors for privacy.
Among the other main-level highlights is a game room decked out with old-school arcade machines, a billiards table, and French doors opening to the backyard, plus a kitchen with shaker-style cabinetry, marble countertops, a split-level eat-in island, and top-tier Miele and Thermador appliances. Upstairs, an eclectically wallpapered den is joined by a posh primary suite flaunting dual baths—one with a barber’s chair and steam shower, and the other donning a hand-blown glass chandelier, dressing area, and stainless soaking tub.

On the lower entertaining level, a sexy speakeasy-style bar boasts a cigar lounge and a wet bar, as well as a mirrored gym and tiered movie theater. The perks continue outdoors, where the flat grassy grounds are dotted with mature trees and herb gardens. An alfresco dining terrace sits next to a built-in kitchen and a fire pit, a pool and spa, a fireside cabana, and a pickleball court. There’s also a separate guesthouse with its own kitchen atop the three-car garage.
After fronting the New York City rock group Semi Precious Weapons, Tranter turned to songwriting and went on to co-pen some of the biggest pop hits of the past few years, including Justin Bieber’s diamond-certified Sorry, Imagine Dragons’ Believer, and DNCE’s Cake by the Ocean. Tranter also once owned a home in Hollywood they bought in 2017 and sold in 2022 for $3.15 million to Brian Firkus, aka the drag performer Trixie Mattel.
