JJ Redick, the former NBA sharpshooter turned Los Angeles Lakers head coach, has put his Brooklyn penthouse back on the market. The 3,000-square-foot duplex in Dumbo was originally purchased by Redick and his wife, Chelsea Kilgore, in 2017 for just over $6 million, property records show. Perched atop a seven-story converted warehouse designed by ODA, the home features four bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms, along with 2,500 square feet of landscaped terraces that wrap around both floors.
What began as a pied-à-terre evolved into a full-time family residence through a comprehensive renovation by designer Michael Aiduss, featured in Architectural Digest in 2019. The couple sought a refined European-inspired aesthetic, transforming the industrial loft into a classical, highly detailed space.

The main floor welcomes owners and guests with a formal entryway leading into an open-plan living and dining area, complete with a sitting alcove and bar. White oak herringbone floorboards can be found throughout, along with glass-trim pocket doors, brass fixtures, French moldings, and elegant archways. The centerpiece is a custom Aegean blue kitchen, lacquered top to bottom with bronze accents and Calacatta marble countertops, connecting seamlessly to a family room with a hidden, James Bond–style TV that rises up out of a cabinet at the touch of a button.
The upper-level primary suite is decked out with a mirrored dressing room and a bathroom surrounded in Venetian plaster walls. Two additional bedrooms, including one set up as a study, open onto an upper terrace with sunset views, while a fourth bedroom sports a full en-suite bath and walk-in closet. The penthouse’s terraces, designed in collaboration with Gunn Landscape Architecture, offer distinct spaces for lounging and dining with a fully outfitted outdoor kitchen. “For me it came down to outdoor space,” Redick told AD. “I wanted a real patio, not a Juliet balcony.”

The building’s 75 units offer a slew of swanky amenities, including a double-height lobby, 24-hour concierge, fitness and yoga facilities, a residents’ lounge, landscaped courtyard, and rooftop terrace. The penthouse has been on the market before: first listed in 2021 for $8.5 million, then reduced to $7 million in 2022. It’s now asking $6.2 million, represented by Rachel Greenstein of Compass.
Redick, 41, starred at Duke University before playing 15 seasons in the NBA and earning a reputation as a three-point specialist. He later worked as an analyst before taking the helm as head coach of the Lakers in 2024.
