‘My Unorthodox Life’ Star Julia Haart’s Tribeca Penthouse Lists for $65 Million

Though they initiated divorce proceedings in early 2022 after only three years of marriage, the lavish Tribeca penthouse that fashion designer and TV personality Julia Haart and her now ex-husband Silvio Scaglia once shared has only now become available for sale.

Scaglia, an Italian businessman, acquired the unit via an LLC for $56 million in 2018 while it was still under construction, but it was granted to Haart once the couple’s divorce was finalized earlier this month after a bitter court battle. Now, after placing the home on the rental market at $125,000 a month, she’s decided to put the lavish aerie that appeared in her unscripted Netflix series My Unorthodox Life on the market. The asking price is a whopping $65 million, with Adam Modlin of the Modlin Group holding the listing.

The 13-room duplex sits atop a 14-story limestone building designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects and is sited along the lower Manhattan waterfront. Six bedrooms and five full baths, plus three powder rooms, are spread across roughly 7,800 square feet of colorful living space. Walls of glass, two terraces, and a wraparound rooftop deck offer sweeping city skyline, Hudson River, and Statue of Liberty views.

A private elevator landing on the upper level opens into a double-height entry foyer before flowing to an expansive corner living room featuring a two-way ceramic fireplace designed by Brooklyn artist Peter Lane that connects to a crimson-hued dining room. Elsewhere is a kitchen with a La Cornue range, as well as a library, solarium, and study that all spill out to an expansive south-facing terrace.

Holding court on the lower level is another kitchen sporting a marble-topped eat-in island, Miele appliances, and a breakfast nook, plus access to an alfresco dining terrace. In addition to a media room and a bedroom that’s been converted into a den, the primary suite hosts a separate sitting area, a massive dressing room with customized wardrobes, and an elegant marble bath.

As for the common charges, the new owner will pay a hefty $21,342 per month for the privilege of living in the building, where its many premium benefits include a 24-hour doorman and concierge, two parking spaces, private storage, and a wellness level with four pools, a steam room and sauna, a fitness center, and a squash court.

It’s been over a decade since Moscow-born Haart left an ultra-Orthodox Jewish community at age 42 and went on to launch a fashion career and star on My Unorthodox Life. Now, after her recent divorce victory, she’s gained full control of the duplex she lived in with Scaglia, along with control over Freedom Holding, the business they ran during their marriage, and nearly $10 million in cash. The former La Perla creative director currently has her own luxury shapewear and clothing brand, Body by Julia Haart.
