Brooke Shields’s Former Los Angeles Home Hits the Market for $8.7 Million

Two years ago, Brooke Shields sold her longtime Los Angeles home to actor Sam Page, whose credits include Mad Men and about a dozen Hallmark TV movies, and his spouse Cassidy Boesch for $7.4 million. Boesch’s parent’s co-own the property according to property records. Now, the OG supermodel and Golden Globe-nominated actress’s former home in Pacific Palisades has resurfaced, asking just shy of $8.7 million.

Located in the sought-after Riviera neighborhood and originally built in 1982, the Pretty Baby star splashed out $3.3 million for the hillside pad back in 1997, when she was still married to professional tennis player Andre Agassi. For years before she sold it, New York City-based Shields had the chalet-style spread on and off the rental market several times and it allegedly served as a crash pad for Ben Affleck after he and his then-wife Jennifer Garner split up in 2016. (At the time, Affleck and Garner still owned a sprawling estate a couple of doors down.)

A whitewashed stone fireplace anchors the living room.

“This celebrity pedigreed estate boasts expansive mountain and canyon views, and a peaceful country ambiance—a calming departure from the busy L.A. lifestyle,” notes the listing, which is being held by Alla Furman, David Kramer, and Andrew Buss with Hilton & Hyland | Forbes Global Properties.

The gated residence sits on close to half an acre and features five bedrooms and six bathrooms across 5,345 square feet. The interior has a charming and rustic farmhouse feel to it, complete with French doors, shiplap walls, vaulted and beamed ceilings, dark Douglas fir wooden floors, and several wood-burning stone fireplaces. The main level, built for entertaining, is decked out with a formal living room, a dining area, and an open-plan chef’s kitchen. The latter sports a marble island and a super cozy fireside breakfast nook. Another highlight of the main level is the giant wraparound terrace.

A broad terrace wraps around the upper floor, offering open views over the neighborhood.

    Ryan Lahiff

The primary suite takes up the entire top floor and leads out to a balcony that overlooks the Getty Center. In addition to a lofted office area and a separate sitting room, there’s a custom walk-in closet and a spacious bathroom with a marble shower, a soaking tub and a whitewashed brick fireplace. The rest of the bedrooms are located on the lower level, which also holds a massive game room with a wet bar, as well as a media lounge for movie nights.

Notched into the hillside below the house, a freeform swimming pool and spa are surrounded by lush greenery. And, if potential buyers are eager to expand their footprint, an adjacent parcel of 1.72 acres—it is currently being used as additional outdoor space for 1710 San Remo—is available to purchase separately for $6.35 million, which would bring the total amount of land to over two acres.

Thandiwe Newton’s Former Rustic-Chic SoCal Retreat Hits the Market for $4.2 Million

Almost two years after Thandiwe Newton sold her home in the rural Los Angeles County community of Topanga Canyon for $2.75 million following a swift four-month stay, the Westworld star’s former residence has once again surfaced for sale. The rustic yet chic abode in the foothills above Malibu is now going for a smidge under $4.2 million, with the listing held by John Galich of Sotheby’s International Realty.

Records show the veteran film and TV actress acquired the property in September 2022 for $2.6 million from fashion designer-turned-astrologist Lily Ashwell and then promptly turned around and transferred the place in January 2023. Before that, the celeb-pedigreed digs were occupied by married actors Julianne Nicholson and Jonathan Cake.

The mountain-view living room features a massive fireplace built by master stonemason Jack Rice.

Originally built in the 1970s but extensively renovated by the current owner, the timber-clad structure is tucked away at the end of a cul-de-sac in the “climate-perfect” Fernwood neighborhood, amid two parcels of land spanning over a third of an acre. Inside, four bedrooms and five baths are filtered across roughly 3,000 square feet of multi-level living space that’s been revamped by a former set designer and architectural preservation specialist, per marketing materials.

Upon entering the front door via a shrubbery-lined walkway, an entry foyer displaying a curving staircase flows to a double-height living room sporting a 20-foot rock fireplace crafted by the late stonemason Jack Rice. Walls of glass frame picturesque views of the Santa Monica Mountains. An adjacent dining area connects to the kitchen, which is outfitted with ceramic countertops, open shelving, a breakfast bar, and a vintage range. An expansive wraparound deck is also accessible from both the living room and kitchen.

The lower-level primary suite has glass doors spilling out onto a brick terrace.

Elsewhere is a lofted office and a wet bar-equipped lounge area with a built-in banquette, as well as an ensuite primary bedroom that comes with the original brick fireplace, plus a walk-in closet and a private terrace. Outdoors, the grounds are laced with mature oak and eucalyptus trees and host a natural plunge pool, a Finnish sauna, and meandering pathways leading to numerous spots for alfresco lounging and entertaining. There’s also an art studio, plus a guesthouse nestled alongside a seasonal creek.

The England-born actress, who appeared in the films Crash and The Pursuit of Happyness and snagged an Emmy Award in 2018 for her role as android Maeve Millay in the HBO series Westworld, reportedly went on to buy a historic home in London that she planned to renovate and make her primary residence.

‘Real Housewives of Miami’ Alum Lea Black Relists a Waterfront Miami Beach Home for $37.5 Million

Around nine years after it first hit the market with a nearly $18 million price tag, Lea and Roy Black’s sprawling waterfront mansion on Miami Beach’s guard-gated Star Island enclave overlooking Biscayne Bay has once again popped up for sale.

On and off the market since 2015 with prices ranging from $15 million to $40 million—and also floated as a rental for as much as $150,000 per month—the former Real Housewives of Miami star and her attorney husband are now seeking nearly $38 million for the one-acre spread they picked up in spring 2011 for $7.1 million and initially planned to renovate. The listing is shared by Saddy Abaunza Delgado of ONE Sotheby’s International Realty and Elena and Stefano Iturriaga of London Real Estate Company.

The hacienda-style home is tucked between the island’s single bridge and a multimillion-dollar mansion currently under construction.

LuxHunters for ONE Sotheby’s International Realty

Built in the early 1980s and resting amid a one-acre pie-shaped parcel that flares out to the bay, the premises include a main home fronted by a circular motor court bolstered by a tiered fountain, along with a separate guesthouse—for a total of nine bedrooms and 12 baths in a little more than 9,700 square feet. There’s also a recently added swimming pool and an attached four-car garage, plus a private 60-foot dock resting along 180 feet of water frontage.

Though interior photos are scarce, likely due to the abode’s decidedly dated state, previous online reports show a 10-seat movie theater, a sauna, and an office space. Other highlights include a voluminous living area sporting a fireplace and wood-trimmed French doors opening to a bar-equipped veranda, as well as a formal dining room and a kitchen featuring an eat-in island, Viking and Sub-Zero appliances, and an accompanying breakfast nook. The primary retreat comes with a marble-clad bath boasting dual vanities and a built-in soaking tub.

The one-acre property hosts a whimsical pirate-themed treehouse for kids.

LuxHunters for ONE Sotheby’s International Realty

The Black’s estate at 45 Star Island joins Rosie O’Donnell’s former mansion listed for $54 million as the only residences for sale in the pricey neighborhood. Lea, who appeared on the first three seasons of RHOM from 2011 to 2013 and went on to launch an eponymous beauty and skincare business, and Roy, a civil and criminal defense lawyer who has represented the likes of Jeffrey Epstein and William Kennedy Smith, maintain a primary Miami-area residence. They also own properties in California and Texas, along with another in the Florida Keys that’s pending sale.

There’s also an attached six-car garage with air conditioning and epoxy floors that’s perfect for auto enthusiasts.

Winston Churchill’s London Home Can Be Yours for $25.2 Million

A London home that once belonged to the late statesman Winston Churchill has hit the market for £19.5 million (or about $25.2 million). The Englishman served as the Prime Minister of the U.K. twice, first from 1940 to 1945 during World War II and then from 1951 to 1955. Following his election defeat in 1945, Churchill reportedly bought 27 Hyde Park Gate for about $310,000 to use as an office. The location was ideal, next door to a townhouse he already owned, and he soon combined the two homes into one giant mansion. However, following his death in 1965, the Grade II-listed spread, just over two miles west of Buckingham Palace, was divided back into separate dwellings.

“Having been the cherished home of Sir Winston Churchill during a defining era in British history, this property has an illustrious heritage,” James Pace, head of Kensington sales at Knight Frank, told Mansion Global.

The pale-blue reception room’s stately fireplace is embellished with fluted columns.

    Knight Frank

The elegant abode last changed hands in 2001 and is currently configured with six bedrooms arranged over four floors. There’s also a private terrace and a rather sizable formal garden thanks to its prime location on a quiet cul-de-sac. Inside, you’ll find much of the original character and charm, like wood-paneled flooring, intricate moldings, and stately fireplaces, remains intact.

The ground floor holds a dramatic double-height reception room in addition to a library and a sitting room. During Churchill’s time, a bedroom was positioned on this level where he reportedly recovered after breaking his leg while on vacation in Monte Carlo. Elsewhere, there’s a fairly modern-looking chef’s kitchen on the lower ground floor along with a breakfast room and formal dining area. The home now also includes its own gym. Fun fact: per English Heritage, Churchill converted one room at the adjacent 28 Hyde Park into his “snob library,” lined with his collection of finely bound books and portraits of his ancestors.

The formal dining room spills out to the garden.

    Knight Frank

Kensington has long been a hotbed of high-profile residents who include Madonna, JK Rowling, Stella McCartney, and, most notably, the late Freddie Mercury, who also owned a Kensington home known as Garden Lodge. The storied estate was put up for sale in February of this year for £30 million (roughly $38 million) by his longtime friend and former fiancée, Mary Austin. According to the listing, which is also being represented by Knight Frank, the late Queen frontman helped design the garden and stored the grand piano that he used to compose Bohemian Rhapsody here.

An Epic 60-Room Estate in Los Angeles Gets a Another Big Price Chop

A little over a year after it first hit the market with an eye-popping $250 million price tag—shortly after its longtime owner, billionaire telecom pioneer Gary Winnick, passed away at age 76—the Bel Air trophy estate widely known as Casa Encantada (loosely translated to Enchanted House) has popped up for sale again. After undergoing a dramatic price cut to $195 million last winter, the estate is now being offered at a newly reduced $165 million.

“Casa Encantada is one of the finest residences in the United States,” says Josh Flagg of Compass, who shares the listing with Kurt Rappaport of Westside Estate Agency and Drew Fenton of Carolwood Estates. “If this was 2017, the house would be sold by now but given the state of the market, there aren’t buyers lining up around the block for any house over $100 million. With that said, there are people out there that can afford a house like this and it just takes that one person.”

The home is fronted by a fountain and a neoclassical portico entrance.

    Nils Timm

Originally designed and built in the 1930s by Russian-born architect James E. Dolena at a reported cost of around $2 million for Hilda Boldt Weber—a former New York City hospital nurse who married multimillionaire Cincinnati glass manufacturer Charles Boldt and then inherited a considerable fortune upon his death in the late 1920s—the dwelling was later sold to hotel magnate Conrad Hilton in 1950 for a mere $225,000.

After Hilton passed away in 1979, retired Dole Food Products chairman David Murdock bought the place in 1980 for $12.4 million. He went on to transfer the estate in 2000 for $94 million to Winnick and his artist and author wife Karen, who spent almost two years and tens of millions of dollars extensively restoring the premises in collaboration with noted architect Peter Marino. Notably, the $94 million deal was long a residential record for California but was also a non-standard sale that involved both cash and two large pieces of land.

A wood-clad lounge area is warmed by a fireplace.

    Nils Timm

Hidden away behind walls and gates, amid an elevated 8.4-acre peninsula that juts out into the golf course of the Bel Air Country Club, the H-shaped mansion is fronted by a motor court bolstered by a bubbling fountain. An opulent neoclassical portico entrance leads into the 40,000-square-foot residence, which features seven bedrooms and a staggering 20 baths, plus posh amenities like a pool pavilion that doubles as a movie theater.

A double-height entry foyer displaying a sweeping staircase greets and flows to a grand reception hall resting beneath a 14-foot ceiling. Other highlights include formal and casual dining and living areas, including a den/card room sporting an art-deco lucite wet bar, as well as a walnut-paneled study/office lined with floor-to-ceiling bookcases and a 3,500-square-foot primary suite flaunting dual sitting rooms, closets, and baths.

The poolside pavilion is complete with a movie theater.

    Nils Timm

The property, which has no neighbors on either side, sits atop a subterranean tunnel that connects two holes of the exclusive golf course and overlooks picturesque city, mountain, and ocean vistas. The Benjamin Purdy-landscaped grounds also host rose, herb, and tropical gardens, along with a 60-foot tiled pool, a desirable north/south tennis court with a viewing pavilion, an additional sports court, and plenty of spots for alfresco lounging and entertaining.

In addition to the Bel Air estate, Winnick’s widow still maintains a Charles Gwathmey-designed apartment on the 20th floor of New York City’s iconic Sherry Netherland Hotel that’s currently on the market for just under $3.5 million.
