‘Saved by the Bell’ Alum Mark-Paul Gosselaar’s Former L.A. Home Lists for $5.5 Million

Shortly before the TV show Franklin & Bash, on which he played lawyer Peter Bash, was canceled after four seasons in late 2014, Mark-Paul Gosselaar plunked down $2.3 million for a Los Angeles home in the San Fernando Valley community of Sherman Oaks.

The veteran actor—probably still best known after all these years for his 1990s role as teen heartthrob Zack Morris on Saved by the Bell—wound up selling the place in early 2022 in an off-market deal for $5.3 million, turning a tidy $3 million profit in the process. Now the French Country-style digs are available again, this time with a $5.5 million price tag. Heather Altman and Casey Gamm of The Altman Brothers Team at Douglas Elliman hold the listing.

One of just seven properties tucked away at the end of a secluded cul-de-sac offering picturesque views of the San Gabriel Mountains, the two-story stucco and stone structure is fronted by an attached three-car garage. Inside, five bedrooms and five baths are spread across nearly 5,800 square feet of remodeled living space boasting wide-plank European white oak floors, arched doorways, and wrought-iron details, plus an automated smart-home system.

Double doors open into the split-level entry foyer, which steps up to a coffered-ceiling living room with decorative wallpaper, a fireplace, and French doors spilling out to the backyard. There’s also a formal dining area and an all-white kitchen sporting top-notch Thermador and Sub-Zero appliances, a blue-hued eat-in island for a pop of color, and a window-lined breakfast nook with banquette seating.

The mountain-view backyard hosts a pool and spa flanked by an alfresco dining terrace.

Other main-level highlights include a fireside primary suite that has a separate office and a marble-clad bath, as well as a movie theater and a guest bedroom with its own bath. The lower level has three additional en-suite bedrooms, a flexible bonus room, and a mirrored gym, while the manicured grounds span almost half an acre and host a solar-heated pool and spa flanking a pergola-shaded terrace that’s ideal for alfresco entertaining with a full kitchen.

After his career-spurring turn on Saved by the Bell, the 51-year-old California native went on to appear in several TV shows and films, including NYPD Blue, Franklin & Bash, Pitch, Mixed-ish, Dead Man on Campus, Beer Money, and Sticks and Stones. He reprised his role as Zack Morris in a Saved by the Bell reboot in 2020, and he’s currently starring in the NBC crime drama series Found. An avid thrill-seeker, he’s also a sports car enthusiast, race car driver, track cyclist, dirt biker, Jui Jitsu practitioner, and licensed pilot.

Nicollette Sheridan Relists Her French Country-Style Estate in SoCal for $13 Million

More than a year after it first hit the market with a nearly $16 million price tag, Nicollette Sheridan’s longtime residence in the gated Los Angeles enclave of Hidden Hills has lingered on the market with no takers. But now it’s popped up for sale again with a substantially reduced $13 million ask, which is around $3 million less than the veteran TV and film actress originally wanted for the place in summer 2023.

Sheridan and her ex-fiancé, the singer Michael Bolton, paid singer Melissa Etheridge and her wife Tammy Lynn Michaels $4.3 million for the San Fernando Valley spread back in spring 2008. Originally built in the 1970s, the two-story structure rests amid a gated hilltop parcel spanning almost four acres and offers six bedrooms and seven baths in 7,500 square feet of recently renovated living space boasting a mix of limestone and wide-plank French oak floors paired with vaulted wood-beam ceilings.

The formal living room has French doors that open out to a covered patio.

Especially standing out on the main level are formal living and dining rooms with French doors spilling out onto a covered patio. Other highlights include a wet bar-equipped family room warmed by a fireplace and a wood-paneled office, plus a gourmet kitchen outfitted with a marble-topped island, Viking and Sub-Zero appliances, butler and silver pantries, and a window-lined breakfast nook sporting a built-in banquette.

The amenities continue upstairs, where a posh primary suite comes complete with a fireplace, a walk-in closet, and a luxe bath hosting a pedestal spa tub, a steam shower, and a sauna; and outdoors, the picturesque mountain- and city-view grounds are surrounded by equestrian amenities and riding trails and hold a tennis court, a gym, a pool and spa, and a kitchen with an imported Italian pizza oven. There’s also a separate guest suite with its own stairway entrance and a three-car garage.

In addition to a pool and spa, the grassy backyard hosts an outdoor kitchen equipped with a pizza oven imported from Italy.

Per the listing, which is held by Shen Schulz of Sotheby’s International Realty, Sheridan is doubling down on trying to sell because she wants her aging horses to live in heaven on earth and frolic to their heart’s content. “As much as I love my home, it is time for us to move on,” she said in a statement. “We will be moving to a farm that allows us the freedom of green pastures and many more furry and feathery friends to accompany us on our new adventures.”

Comedian Whitney Cummings Is Seeking $13 Million for Her Suburban L.A. Estate

After nearly six years of ownership, Whitney Cummings has decided to part ways with her Mediterranean-style estate just outside Los Angeles. Records show the standup comedian has stuck a nearly $13 million price tag on the stylishly revamped spread, which is tucked away in a remote gated enclave of the San Fernando Valley.

Though the asking price is almost $9 million more than the $4.3 million she doled out for the circa-2004 home back in 2019, Cummings completely remodeled the premises during her tenure in collaboration with designer Jake Arnold. Out went the nightclub-esque decor, and in came what Architectural Digest described as a “Santa Fe–meets–monastery–inspired” style with a total of five bedrooms and seven baths in roughly 6,800 square feet of warm and textured living space boasting a mix of hardwood and stone floors, high ceilings accented with reclaimed barn beams, and French doors leading outside.

A high ceiling dotted with salvaged barn beams crowns the fireside living room.

Sequestered behind gates at the end of a secluded cul-de-sac, the creamy stucco and terracotta-roof structure is perched atop a four-acre parcel overlooking sweeping mountain vistas. Inside, an entry foyer displaying a striking plaster spiral staircase flows to a light-filled living room highlighted by a masonry fireplace, while the elegant dining room connects to a gourmet kitchen decked out with custom cabinetry, an eat-in island topped with Blue Louise stone, high-end stainless appliances, and a breakfast nook.

Elsewhere is an inviting den sporting a fireplace flanked by built-in shelving, as well as a bookshelf-lined library and a posh primary suite flaunting a private balcony, a separate seating area, and a spa-inspired bath spotlighted by a Belgian soaking tub. Outdoors, the olive tree-laced grounds host several alfresco lounging and entertaining spots enhanced by a pool and spa, swinging sofas, a fire pit, and a bar setup, along with a spacious motor court and a driveway that passes through a porte-cochère on its way to the two-car garage.

In the backyard, the pool and an adjacent fire pit conversation area are enveloped in lush greenery.

Adding to the home’s allure is the property’s setting amid a hollow that protects it from the Santa Ana winds, according to the listing held by Adam Rosenfeld and Jon Grauman of The Agency, which also notes there is a Los Angeles Fire Department helipad nearby.

A native of Washington, D.C., the 42-year-old humorist and actress appeared in her first standup special, Money Shot, on Comedy Central back in 2010 and went on to create and star in the self-titled sitcom Whitney, which aired on NBC for two seasons between 2011 and 2013. Probably best known for co-creating and co-writing the hit CBS comedy 2 Broke Girls, she also hosts a popular podcast titled Good for You.

A Hollywood Agent’s Secluded Home in L.A.’s San Fernando Valley Lists for $3.5 Million

A rambling residence hidden down a long, gated driveway that passes over a wooden bridge in L.A.’s largely unsung Woodland Hills suburb near the eastern edge of the San Fernando Valley has come to market for a buck under $3.5 million. Elizabeth Benichou of Douglas Elliman and Dustin Benichou of Devorah B. Homes share the listing.

Tax records show the seller as Rick Greenstein, a prominent Hollywood agent and a senior partner at Gersh, who represents a who’s who of comedians, including Dave Chappelle, Jamie Foxx, John Oliver, Drew Carey, and Kevin Nealon. The recently married Tinseltown power broker is looking to more than double his money on the secluded property he scooped up in 2019 for $1.55 million.

Vaulted ceilings and a vintage brick fireplace are highlights in the family room.

The home dates to 1937, when it was built in the Craftsman style, and a 2010 renovation and expansion brought the cottage to a comfortable 4,177 square feet. Stone-walled steps swoop up through a custom-lit, park-like setting from the motor court to an inviting, trellis-covered porch, and throughout the three-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath home are four fireplaces, a combination of cherry, beechwood, and light oak floorboards, stained glass windows and doors, and period lighting fixtures.

There’s a small office off to one side of the step-down living and dining room, while the other side of the rectangular space connects to a skylight-topped solarium that spills onto a terrace alongside a waterfall-fed koi pond stocked with 30-year-old koi that have been cared for by the same aquarist for their entire lives. Greenstein is willing to let the fish remain if the new owner commits to their care.

Waterfalls tumble down the verdant hillside into a koi pond in the backyard.

At the opposite end of the home, atop a two-car garage, is the well-equipped center-island kitchen and a nearby breakfast room with a walk-in wine cellar. Just off the kitchen, a bar area connects to a light-filled family room capacious enough to accommodate a raised platform with a baby grand piano.

The terraced gardens across the 0.6-acre property are drought-tolerant with a variety of exotic plants that bloom at various times throughout the year. Along with the plunge pool-sized koi pond, there’s a built-in grill, an alfresco dining terrace under a canopy of trees, and a trellis-covered deck that wraps around the family room. Under strands of overhead lights, a brick terrace has a fire pit, and a decked area has a spa. Set higher up on the hillside is a discrete dog run and, even higher, a pavilion outfitted as a gym that’s set in the treetops.

Tax records show that Greenstein and his wife recently acquired a pair of small, adjacent units in a distinguished prewar cooperative apartment house in New York City’s Gramercy Park neighborhood.

This SoCal Estate Was Once Home to Frank Sinatra. Now It Can Be Yours for $8 Million.

When you run across a place that’s been graced through the years by the likes of Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, Jon Hamm, and Beyoncé, is touted in marketing materials as “one of the most filmed homes in America,” and has the added cache of having been fashioned by a noted architect, you have an inkling that it’s going to be a showstopper. And this sprawling midcentury residence in the suburban Los Angeles neighborhood of Chatsworth, on the western edge of the San Fernando Valley, is not one to disappoint.

To boot, after floating on and off the market for the past decade or so—once for as much as $21.5 million—the estate probably best known as Byrdview, as well as Farralone and Fox House, has just popped up for sale again with a substantially reduced $8 million ask.

“I’m excited that the new owner has embarked upon this very realistic sale for this incredible property,” says Craig Knizek, who shares the listing with Blair Chang, both of The Agency. “After a recent foreclosure, I’m encouraged that the new owner is providing very clear and dependable guidance to the market that this property now is truly for sale. I’ve been involved with this property for 13 years. I can finally and confidently say that this new owner recognizes that path to a successful sale.”

Sir Paul McCartney is said to have tinkled the ivories of the piano in the glass-walled entertaining room.

    Scott Everts/SAE Photography

Originally built by noted modernist architect William Pereira in the early 1950s for New York banking heiress Dora Stillman and her actor husband Jody Hutchinson—who held legendary parties attended by Hollywood A-listers such as Garland, Angela Lansbury, Jane Wyman, Lucille Ball, and Ava Gardner, just to name a few—the dwelling was later rented out to Sinatra for nearly 10 years in the late ’50s and early ’60s.

In addition, those seeking an additional income stream might be interested to know that the house has long been a popular production site for movies and TV shows, including Swordfish, Six Feet Under, The Last Man on Earth, Dreamgirls, Californication, Mad Men, Aquarius, and Beef. Miley Cyrus also shot portions of the music video for the song Flowers there.

The main home is spotlighted by a a 50-foot pool nestled alongside a 2,000 square-foot pergola.

    Scott Everts/SAE Photography

Resting at the end of an almost mile-long driveway, atop a secluded promontory spanning nearly 14 acres and overlooking virtually the entire San Fernando Valley, the walled and gated compound includes a 6,661-square-foot main home and a separate 1,120-square-foot guesthouse—for a total of seven bedrooms and eight baths in a little more than 8,100 square feet of meticulously restored living space.

Inside the four-bedroom, six-bath primary midcentury dwelling are a mix of poured concrete and hardwood floors, copious built-ins, several wood-burning fireplaces, and 16-foot walls of glass. Other highlights include a living area flaunting a cocktail bar with a 150-bottle wine refrigerator, a formal dining room topped by a swanky chandelier, and a kitchen sporting an eat-in island and stainless appliances. There’s also an entertaining room and a lavish primary suite boasting a fireside seating area, a bespoke closet, and a spacious bath equipped with dual vanities and a soaking tub.

President John F. Kennedy and Marilyn Monroe allegedly trysted in the guesthouse while Frank Sinatra was living there.

    Scott Everts/SAE Photography

Separate from the main house is a one-bedroom guesthouse, where JFK and Marilyn Monroe supposedly engaged in a tryst. It includes its own dipping pool. Rounding it all out are the resort-like grounds showcased by a 50-foot pool surrounded by a flagstone sundeck and a 2,000-square-foot pergola, along with a three-car garage and parking for more than 200 vehicles.

Rob Schneider Just Bought a Suburban L.A. Estate for $2.5 Million

Though he already owns a $4 million mansion in an exclusive guard-gated community in Scottsdale, Ariz., Rob Schneider has plumped up his real estate portfolio with yet another residence. Records show the comedian and actor—who has made headlines recently for apologizing to his daughter Elle King during a Tucker Carlson interview after she ripped him in public for being a bad dad—and his longtime wife Patricia doled out a smidge over $2.5 million for some renovated digs in the Woodland Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles, deep within the San Fernando Valley.

Built in the mid-1960s and since taken down to the studs and given a top-to-bottom rebuild, the midcentury-modern structure is nestled amid a cul-de-sac parcel of land spanning almost a half-acre. Fronted by a wide driveway that empties out at an attached two-car garage, as well as stacked steps that stop at the pivoting entry door, the place has four bedrooms and an equal number of baths in 3,000 square feet of single-level living space boasting white rift oak floors, high ceilings, custom-fabricated stone, imported Italian tile, and designer lighting and finishes, plus high-tech lighting, security, and sound systems.

Photos are scarce, but online listings show an open-concept great room anchored by a living area sporting a floor-to-ceiling linear fireplace flanked by built-in shelving and accordion-style glass doors spilling outside and an adjacent kitchen outfitted with custom cabinetry, an eat-in island, and top-tier Viking appliances. A 90-bottle custom wine rack connects on the other side to a spacious dining room. Elsewhere is an office and a plush primary suite flaunting a walk-in closet and a spa-inspired bath, along with a canyon-view backyard hosting a fire pit, a pool and spa, and several al fresco lounging and entertaining areas.

Christina Ricci Has Hung a $2.2 Million Price Tag on Her Former Los Angeles Home

Though she hasn’t lived there in a minute or two, Hollywood’s Christina Ricci has owned a home nestled into a lushly planted cul-de-sac in L.A.’s Woodland Hills area since 2018. She bought the property with her now-ex-husband, James Heedergen, for exactly $1.1 million. Ricci told SheKnows earlier this year that she wanted to sell the house because it was where she lived through and after an abusive marriage with Heedergen, so she does not have the best memories and associations with the home.

Late last year, in anticipation of selling it, Ricci, married in 2021 to hairstylist Mark Hampton, signed on to renovate the house with designer and TV personality Jeff Lewis. The process appeared on the most recent season of his Amazon Freevee series, Hollywood Houselift. Now, freshly gussied up in Lewis’ signature transitional traditional style, the suburban residence has been placed on the market with an asking price of $2.249 million.

The charcoal-grey two-story home, situated on about a quarter of an acre and measuring just over 2,700 square feet with four bedrooms and four bathrooms, is listed with Mercedes “MJ” Javid of The Agency, who, like Lewis, has deep roots in the Bravosphere: she was an OG cast member on “Shahs of Sunset,” which aired on the cable channel from 2012 to 2021.

The living room is anchored by a fireplace trimmed in marble and wood.

It’s a few steps up from the flaming red front door to the sedate and sunny formal living room, where a massive fireplace is trimmed in marble and wood. Wide-plank wood floors, art- and decorator-friendly white walls and a plethora of recessed lights continue into the great room that runs along the back of the house, overlooking the backyard and swimming pool.

At one end of the window-lined space, a family room/media lounge is enlivened by grey and gold wallpaper; skylights add light to the central dining space; and the open kitchen is fitted with designer appliances, trendy brass fixtures and boldly veined stone-like counters. A raised fireplace adds homey charm to the great room, and multiple doors to the backyard facilitate an easy back and forth between indoor and outdoor living and entertaining spaces.

The open-plan kitchen employs trendy brass fixtures and stone-like counters.

There are three bedrooms and bathrooms on the main floor, while the primary suite privately occupies the upper floor. A Juliet balcony in the bedroom overlooks the swimming pool, and the bathroom is emblazoned with high-contrast black-and-white floral wallpaper and includes a glassed-in shower, freestanding soaking tub and parquet-de-Versailles-patterned marble tile flooring.

Charcoal flag stone terracing surrounds the classic kidney-shaped swimming pool that sits in a sunny clearing surrounded by dense foliage that provides a total sense of privacy and seclusion. There’s a small putting green and pathways that meander through the lush hillside that rises beyond the pool.

Ricci has bounced between New York and Los Angeles for decades and has owned a handful of homes in both cities; a townhouse in Brooklyn was sold about a year ago for just under $2 million, as was a vintage hillside home in a celeb-favored pocket of Los Feliz that she sold 20 years ago to fellow actress Sarah Chalke for $1.3 million.
