Walter White’s New Mexico Home From ‘Breaking Bad’ Can Be Yours for $4 Million

Back in 2013, after Breaking Bad had wrapped its five-year run, fans were delighted when several vehicles used in the Emmy-winning TV show hit the auction block, most notably a 2003 Pontiac Aztek driven by Bryan Cranston’s character Walter White. So intense is the show’s fandom that a couple of years ago, a replica pair of underwear like those worn by the mild-mannered high school chemistry teacher-turned-ruthless drug kingpin went up for grabs, ultimately going to the highest bidder for a cool $32,500. Now, if you happen to have a bit more disposable cash burning a hole in your proverbial pocket, the unassuming Albuquerque abode where White and his family lived can be yours!

The iconic pad, which just hit the market for a speck under $4 million, consists of four bedrooms, two baths, piano and living rooms, a dining area, and a kitchen spread across 1,910 square feet. There’s also an attached two-car garage out front and a pool and covered barbecue area holding court in the private backyard. Tucked away behind a fence on less than a quarter of an acre in the suburban neighborhood of Loma del Rey, the property is being offered by David Christensen and Sonya Avila of Christensen Group | eXp Realty Luxury.

The backyard holds the pool that Walter White’s wife Skyler walked into fully clothed during a birthday dinner in Season 5.

Purchased by Fran and Louis Padilla in the 1970s, shortly after it was built, and currently owned by the now-deceased couple’s children, the single-level stucco and wood-paneled structure was initially proposed as the site of a TV pilot when a location scout knocked on the door back in 2006. Filming began six months later, with Breaking Badpremiering in 2008 and the house going on to become a popular tourist attraction for fans from across the globe who are eager to catch a glimpse of the place where scenes such as the pizza toss occurred.

“This home became a character as large as Walter White himself, sometimes receiving over 300 cars per day, and is a goldmine for an investor looking to have the best Airbnb in the world,” said Ryan Johnston of InterPhase Entertainment, who is handling the sale with eXp Realty.
