Moda moves into student housing with plans to provide 10,000 beds

Moda has secured sites for schemes with around 4,000 student beds in Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, Leeds and Manchester but said further details were not yet available.

Moda Living co-founder and chief executive Johnny Caddick said: “Like the mainstream housing market, UK student accommodation is crying out for quality new homes to address the shortage, and we’re very confident that demand for sustainable, community-focused homes will ensure the success of this new addition to Moda’s portfolio of rental platforms.”

The student homes will be a mix of cluster flats with shared kitchen space and private studios, as part of Moda Living’s larger UK pipeline of 24,000 homes for renters across its BTR, single-family rental and co-living arms, worth a total of £6.8bn.

Moda said its student platform will be centred on wellbeing and ESG, with amenities including event spaces, wellness zones, fitness suites, private dining spaces, study rooms, lounges, roof terraces and green spaces.
