in LuxuryA Contemporary Artist’s Serene Retreat in Bel Air Can Be Yours for $16.5 Million
When Cuban-born artist Enrique Martínez Celaya picked up a traditional 1950s home in the posh Bel Air enclave of Los Angeles a little more than seven years ago, it was overdue for a dose of TLC. He subsequently embarked on an all-out reimagination of the premises, and now the beguiling home has returned to the market. Adam Rosenfeld and Jon Grauman of The Agency hold the listing.
First put up for sale this past spring at nearly $18 million, the place is now going for a discounted $16.5 million. And though that’s still a whopping $12.7 million and change over what the painter, sculptor, author, and former laser physicist paid in early 2018, he did incorporate more than his share of snazzy upgrades—think top-notch surveillance, audio, and music systems, just for starters.
A spacious vaulted great room has a wall of French doors spilling out to the backyard.

Tucked away on a dual-access parcel of land spanning over two acres, the gated property features a ranch-style main home that opens to the picturesque grounds via floor-to-ceiling French doors in almost every room and several ancillary structures, for a combined total of roughly 7,200 square feet.
Highlights within the five-bedroom, five-bath primary dwelling include a spacious great room resting beneath a soaring whitewashed wood-beam ceiling. A dining area sits on one side, while a bar nook on the other end connects to a cozy library boasting a floor-to-ceiling gray brick fireplace surrounded by built-in bookshelves. A window-lined kitchen comes with custom cabinetry, an eat-in island, a pricey French Lacanche range, additional Miele and Thermador appliances, and a breakfast nook.
The cozy library is anchored by a soaring gray brick fireplace with a raised hearth.

Among the other perks are a family room and an office, plus a light-filled primary bedroom spotlighted by a pebble-tiled bath equipped with a large freestanding soaking tub and a walk-in shower. Stationed elsewhere are the aforementioned ancillary structures, which encompass an art studio, a guest bungalow, a writing house, and a trio of utility sheds.
Rounding it all out are lush, fully fenced outdoor environs hosting a pool and spillover spa, as well as multiple areas decked out for alfresco gatherings with a pizza oven, barbecue, and fire pits. Pathways also wind their way through fruit tree-laced gardens dotted with eye-catching offerings, like the owner’s nearly 13-foot-tall, one-ton bronze sculpture “The Well” from his collection titled “The Tears of Things,” revolving around journey, risk, and transformation.
On a final note: Though none of the artwork on display is offered for individual sale, there is an agricultural-grade fire suppression system on the land for that all-important peace of mind.

in LuxuryInside David and Victoria Beckham’s $150 Million Property Portfolio
David and Victoria Beckham don’t just rule the worlds of soccer and fashion—they’ve built a global empire that extends far beyond the pitch and the runway. And their choices in residences, spanning sleek city penthouses, countryside estates, and waterfront mansions, each reflect their signature blend of style and star power. Whether basking in the Miami sun, retreating to the English countryside, or laying low atop Dubai’s tallest tower, the Beckhams know how to live iconically.
In addition to their primary professions, they’ve each cultivated powerhouse brands. David’s ventures include co-owning Inter Miami CF, launching grooming and whiskey lines, and founding Studio 99, the production company behind the Emmy-winning 2023 Netflix doc Beckham. Victoria, meanwhile, turned her Spice Girls superstardom into a thriving fashion and beauty label, Victoria Beckham Holdings Limited. Together, their combined net worth is estimated at £500 million (about $671 million), according to The Sunday Times Rich List.
Their homes have tracked their rise. In Spain, during David’s Real Madrid era, they owned a Tuscan-style villa ideal for their growing family. When he joined LA Galaxy in 2007, the Beckhams settled into a 13,000-square-foot Beverly Hills mansion with six bedrooms, nine bathrooms, and a custom media room for Victoria. They sold it quietly for $33 million in 2018, closing a glitzy, tabloid-tracked chapter in Lala Land.
Even at sea, the Beckhams do it big. Their $20 million Riva 130 Bellissima yacht, Seven—named for David’s squad number, which is also daughter Harper’s middle name—is a floating retreat, not only for the two of them but also for their four kids, Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper.
Now, let’s take a closer look at their impressive collection of homes.

in LuxuryTom Clancy’s Widow Just Dropped $21.5 Million on a 3-Story Penthouse in Lower Manhattan
The case is solved! Turns out the mystery buyer who recently doled out $21.5 million for a snazzy triplex penthouse at 108 Leonard in Manhattan’s Tribeca neighborhood is Alexandra Clancy, the widow of the late bestselling author Tom Clancy, who penned numerous spy thrillers ranging from The Hunt for Red October to Patriot Games. Elena Sarkissian of Douglas Elliman held the listing, with Dora Abril of Douglas Elliman repping the buyer.
Records show the seller was the building’s developer, Elad Group, which restored and transformed the former New York Life Insurance Company building known as the Clock Tower into luxury condos in 2018 in collaboration with the hospitality design firm Jeffrey Beers International. First listed in spring 2022 at around $24.5 million, the property was scooped up by Clancy in early June at a substantial discount.
A ballroom-sized great room notched into the building’s northeast corner holds living and dining areas.
Evan Joseph/Evan Joseph Studios
Originally designed by the architect Griffith Thomas and completed in 1870, the building was expanded two decades later by the legendary firm McKim, Mead & White. The ornately embellished block-long structure, which has housed notable past and present residents the likes of music industry titan Clive Davis and A-list couple Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places and designated as a New York City landmark in the 1980s.
Spread across the top three floors of the 16-story Italian Renaissance Revival structure, Clancy’s light-filled aerie, dubbed the Crown Penthouse, comes with five bedrooms and seven baths. Roughly 6,200 square feet of modern living space accessible via an internal staircase and elevator boasts chevron-patterned oak floors, 15-foot ceilings, and large arched windows throughout. A trio of outdoor terraces spanning a combined 2,200 square feet also provides sweeping views of the Empire State and Municipal buildings, City Hall, the East River, and the Brooklyn, Manhattan, and George Washington bridges.
The spacious glass-lined media and recreation room is equipped with a wet bar and its own terrace.
Evan Joseph/Evan Joseph Studios
In addition to a 1,000-square-foot great room anchored by a striking marble fireplace, other highlights include an eat-in kitchen sporting custom Scavolini cabinetry, a marble waterfall-edge island, top-notch Miele appliances, and a 100-bottle wine fridge. There’s also a wet bar-equipped media/recreation room, plus a fireside primary suite that occupies the entire top floor and has a mini-kitchenette, separate sitting room, and dual walk-in closets and baths.
As for the monthly maintenance fee, Clancy will pay a hefty $10,427 per month for the privilege of living in the building, where its many premium benefits include a valet-serviced drive-in motor reception court and a 20,000-square-foot wellness area featuring a 75-foot lap pool and fitness center. Also available are a wine cellar with a private dining room and cabana lounges sprinkled amid rooftop gardens.
The primary bedroom opens to a wraparound terrace with views of 108 Leonard’s copper-clad cupola.
Evan Joseph/Evan Joseph Studios
The daughter of J. Bruce Llewellyn, a Harlem-born entrepreneur who was worth about $170 million upon his death in 2010, Alexandra Clancy worked as a TV news reporter before marrying Tom Clancy in 1999. After Tom Clancy’s death in 2013 at age 66, she was embroiled in lawsuits over the author’s $83 million estate, both with his first wife Wanda and her four children, as well as his second wife Alexandra Marie Llewellyn Clancy.
Included among Tom Clancy’s assets were shares of the Baltimore Orioles and recurring royalties and rights related to his most famous character, Jack Ryan. There was also a 400-acre Chesapeake Bay estate that Alexandra Clancy received and then sold in 2020 for nearly $5 million, much less than its $6.2 million asking price.

in LuxuryKillers Guitarist Dave Keuning’s Modern Spanish Home in the Hollywood Hills Lists for $14 Million
Professional rockstar Dave Keuning picked up a Los Angeles home almost four years ago and subsequently undertook a renovation. However, “Somebody Told Me” the seven-time Grammy-nominated co-founder and lead guitarist of The Killers has decided to sell his revamped residence in the Outpost Estates enclave of Hollywood Hills, asking a speck under $14 million. David Parnes, Sam Collins, and James Harris of Carolwood Estates share the listing.
Records show Keuning and his longtime interior designer wife Emilie paid Grindr app founder Joel Simkhai nearly $9.6 million for the modern Spanish villa set high atop the Sunset Strip, which is about $500,000 below the $10 million Simkhai originally wanted. It’s also a million bucks less than the neighborhood record of $10.5 million that was set when the tech mogul bought the property in 2017, right around the same time he sold Grindr to the Chinese-based gaming company Beijing Kunlun Tech in two deals worth roughly $250 million.

Nestled on more than one-third of an acre secured by a gated brick motor court, the white stucco and terracotta-roof structure was built in the late 1980s and has sweeping views spanning from Downtown L.A. to the Santa Monica Bay from its lofty perch. Inside, more than 8,300 square feet of living space on two levels is accessed via a soaring wood-beam foyer that flows to a spacious living area sporting a stone fireplace and steel-framed French doors spilling out to the backyard.
Another living area decorated with an embossed tin ceiling and a fanciful light fixture abuts an office equipped with built-in bookcases, while a stylish eat-in kitchen outfitted with ebony-hued cabinetry and top-tier Wolf and Miele appliances connects to a fireside sitting area and dining room beyond. Elsewhere is a vaulted movie theater, plus a posh upstairs primary suite flaunting a Murano glass chandelier, fireplace, wraparound balcony, and marble-clad bath equipped with dual vanities, a soaking tub, and glassy shower.

The picturesque grounds are studded with tiered gardens and host a freeform pool and spillover spa flanked by a barbecue station and fire pit lounge. Rounding it all out are dual garages, as well as a detached hillside studio holding a recording space with a private sound booth (sadly, the guitars are not included as part of the sale).
In 2018, the Iowa native purchased a $5 million home in the hills of Los Feliz before flipping it the following year to BuzzFeed CEO Jonah Peretti. More recently, records show he sold a house in the beachside community of Cardiff-by-the-Sea near San Diego and a condo in Las Vegas, where the band was formed by Keuning and Brandon Flowers back in 2001.

in LuxuryFrench Artist Claire Tabouret’s Hand-Painted Home in L.A. Lists for $3 Million
Her enigmatic portraiture graces the collections of billionaire businessman François Pinault and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, among others. But L.A.-based figurative artist Claire Tabouret is probably best known as of late for traveling to her native France to create new stained-glass windows for the nearly 1,000-year-old Notre-Dame Cathedral, which reopened last December after a devastating 2019 fire and an ensuing restoration.
French officials chose Tabouret to replicate her vibrantly hued sketches of groups of people in prayer from a pool of more than 100 applicants, saying they hoped her work would “give the cathedral a flavor of the contemporary gesture that had been promised in the wake of the fire.”
A formerly white fireplace in the living room was given Tabouret’s special colorful touch.

Though the stained-glass windows won’t be on view to the public until the end of 2026, an equally eye-catching display of Tabouret’s artistry can be found some 5,600 miles away, across the Atlantic Ocean, at a 1920s Spanish residence in L.A.’s Los Feliz neighborhood that she’s shared with her musician/carpenter husband Nathan Thelen for the past six years.
Sited adjacent to the exclusive Laughlin Park enclave and currently listed for sale with Rob Kallick and Sara Kaye of Compass for a speck under $3 million, the creamy stucco and terracotta-roof structure is brimming with charming creative flourishes at every turn. Chief among them: a coffered wood-beam ceiling in the double-height living room boasting whimsical interpretations of scenes from the classic Rider-Waite-Smith tarot card deck, illustrated in the early 20th century by Pamela Colman Smith.
Per Architectural Digest, which featured the home in 2022, there’s a robed noblewoman with a falcon on her arm, a kneeling nude pouring liquid from jugs onto water and land, and two lovers split apart by what resembles a compass. Nods to the couple’s domestic life are also thrown in for good measure, including one card with their dogs and another showing their daughter Mattea riding a horse.

The ceiling established the mood for the rest of the three-bedroom, three-bath residence, which the pair purchased in 2019 for $1.7 million and subsequently updated. Standing out among the roughly 2,700 square feet of multi-level living space is a spacious upstairs primary suite sporting a pergola-shaded balcony, a custom wardrobe, and a tiled bath with a soaking tub and steam shower. There’s also a terracotta-hued dining room, a yellow breakfast room, and a family room bathed in a dusty blue shade.
Atop the living room is a library loft, and elsewhere is an updated kitchen boasting a vintage-style range from Bertazzoni’s Heritage Series. A wall of arched French doors on the lower level open out to a courtyard garden, with the rest of the jasmine- and palm tree-laced grounds hosting several alfresco lounging and entertaining spots, plus an area that’s solely dedicated to the French lawn bowling game of pétanque.

in LuxuryJohn Huston’s Former L.A. Ranch Has a Miniature Disney Railroad, and It Just Listed for $20 Million
All aboard: A one-of-a-kind ranch in Tarzana, California, with its own fully operational miniature train, has just popped up for sale.
The charming abode, which is on the market for $20 million with David Kramer of Compass and Paul Czako of Gussman Czako Estates, was originally built for Academy Award-winning actor-director John Huston in 1941. The late Hollywood legend, famous for The Maltese Falcon, The African Queen, and The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, lived at the private estate back when the San Fernando Valley still had a Wild West vibe. He welcomed many big-name “cowboys” into his digs, including famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright.

John Huston’s former Los Angeles home is up for sale.
Ryan Lahiff
The 4.44-acre estate offers more than just an A-list pedigree, though. In 1959, the gated compound was snapped up by Gordon and Holly MacLean, friends of Disney and die-hard train collectors, who added one truly unique feature. With Disney’s input, the MacLeans built the Tunnel, Cut & Trestle Railroad: a 7.5-inch gauge track that allows a tiny train to wind through the grounds. The circuit includes bridges, turntables, road signs, and a 240-foot tunnel that is long enough to make you briefly forget you’re in Los Angeles. The dual-track system is no toy—it’s engineered to run steam, electric, and propane-powered engines, giving the new owner plenty of options for trains.
Over the years, the railroad has become a neighborhood legend, hosting community rides and drawing in fellow rail buffs from the L.A. Live Steamers Museum in Griffith Park. Each owner has kept the tradition alive—and yes, a mini-train is included in the sale.
The train runs past a red barn-turned-entertaining lodge.

The rest of the estate is just as over-the-top. There’s a 12,170-square-foot, three-story main house with six bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, and nine fireplaces. A stone-lined pool flows partially under the house. A reimagined red barn—once a utilitarian structure, now an entertaining lodge—adds another 2,775 square feet, plus a kitchen, bar, bedroom, and loft. Toss in an 807-square-foot guest cottage, a nearly 2,000-square-foot train depot, and a storage wing, because why not? All up, eight bedrooms, 14 bathrooms, and 11 fireplaces are spread across more than 17,000 square feet of living space.
The main home features vaulted wood ceilings and nine fireplaces.
Ryan Lahiff
Outside, the grounds feel like a private park, with koi ponds, stone paths, rolling lawns, a tennis court, a dog run, and a children’s play area. You could hike up the hills, host a wedding, or fire up the steam engine for a spin around the trestle—whatever takes your fancy. The Tarzana compound is equal parts film set, fantasy camp, and legacy property, making it a great addition to any portfolio.
