Scents & sensibility
Ever keen to sniff out a good story, Eye was intrigued by exclusive London office provider Argyll’s latest tie-up this week.
The firm can clearly stretch to a bit more than the usual logo on a pen for brand awareness, having teamed up with British perfumer to the stars Azzi Glasser to launch a bespoke branded scent.
Argyll commissioned Glasser to capture its essence – “modern, classic offices with a boutique, residential feel” – to help users of its 30-strong portfolio of prime London offices know they have entered an Argyll property as soon as they step through the door and get a whiff of the aroma.
Anyone entering an Argyll building will be greeted by a smell featuring “earthy tones” with “notes of laurel, vetivert and cedar”.
Eye is not quite sure what the smell of its Croydon offices says to its occupants, or visitors for that matter, but is pretty sure that, unlike Argyll’s, no one has carefully hand-selected any ingredients to achieve it – let alone ones that “embody freshness, as well as sophistication and comfort”.
