Taylor Swift and Dolly Parton Have Recorded Music at This $24 Million Tennessee Estate

Before there was Dark Horse Estate, there was Robin Crow, a Texas-born singer-songwriter navigating the ups and downs of the music industry. In the early 1990s, after being dropped from RCA Records at age 39, Crow bought 10 acres of rolling pastures above the snaking West Harpeth River in Franklin, Tennessee, for $175,000, according to the Wall Street Journal.

What began as a single log cabin would, over decades, become a sprawling, post-and-beam compound that would attract some of the world’s most famous recording artists—from Taylor Swift to Tim McGraw, and Carrie Underwood. And now it can be yours for a cool $24 million.

The Manor House forms the heart of the estate, totaling over 14,200 square feet of living space. The main residence contains seven bedrooms, while the Cottage and the Bungalow Apartment offer additional guest quarters, each with a private entrance. A party barn and a three-car garage sit just outside the main footprint. The buildings are connected by covered walkways and a sky bridge that doubles as a game room with a pool table.

Inspired by Crow’s time performing at Colorado ski lodges—think Gothic-meets-rustic with stone archways, vaulted ceilings, and walls of glass—the estate contains a whopping 10 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms. Over the years, he and his kids added personal touches and hidden nooks perfect for reading, writing, or just taking in the river views.

On the grounds, Dark Horse Studio—built in 1998—spans nearly 9,000 square feet of post-and-beam space with vaulted ceilings and rustic finishes. With recording rooms, public areas, two sleeping spaces for visiting musicians, and plenty of porches and patios, it’s both a creative hub and a comfortable retreat for artists.

The studio has seen a legion of music industry royals, including Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, Shawn Mendes, Faith Hill, and Neil Diamond—who recorded several tracks from Tennessee Moon, including a duet with Waylon Jennings (One Good Love). A pre-fame Taylor Swift also cut three songs for her debut album here.

As for Crow, according to the Journal, he’s moving on to spend more time at his second home in Telluride, Colorado. “It’s bittersweet to sell it, because we all love it,” Crow told the publication. “But I’m ready for a different chapter. I’ve been here for 31 years, and I’ve got some other adventures that I’m ready to go on.”

Nick and Vanessa Lachey Pay $8 Million to Buy Back an L.A. Home They Sold to Naomi Osaka

After placing their modern farmhouse-style spread tucked away in a prime pocket of Encino up for sale recently, Nick and Vanessa Lachey apparently began feeling a little nostalgic for another Los Angeles property they owned and sold once before.

Back in late 2020, the married reality TV show hosts paid former NFL wide receiver Randall Cobb just over $5 million for his East Coast traditional-style residence in the San Fernando Valley community of Tarzana. They went on to flip it for a nice profit less than two years later in a $6.3 million off-market transaction. The buyer was tennis superstar Naomi Osaka, who subsequently renovated the pad and added a new structure containing a gym and a recovery center, as first reported by The Wall Street Journal.

Osaka first put the estate up for sale in June for $8.3 million, and the Lacheys paid a dash under $8 million, a discount off Osaka’s asking price but about $3 million more than the couple paid for the very same property almost five years ago. Amy Snider of Compass represented Osaka in the deal, with the Lacheys repped by Mauricio Umansky and Craig Knizek of The Agency.

Set behind a double-gated driveway on a cul-de-sac parcel spanning over half an acre, the 2014-built dwelling is fronted by a four-car garage and additional parking for up to 20 vehicles. Inside, five bedrooms and nine baths are filtered across roughly 7,000 square feet of two-level living space boasting dark brown hardwood floors and walls of glass overlooking valley and mountain vistas.

Among the highlights is an eat-in kitchen outfitted with dual islands, top-notch stainless appliances, and an accompanying breakfast nook. A coffer-ceilinged family room has a fireplace, built-in bookshelves, and pocketing doors spilling out to a covered loggia, while a formal dining room is embellished with wainscoting and patterned wallpaper.

Osaka added a gym that comes complete with neon inspirational quotes.

The amenities continue in the backyard, which hosts a pool and spa, a barbecue station, a fire pit, and a sunken sports court.

The Encino home that the co-hosts of Netflix’s reality dating show Love Is Blind purchased just last year for $6.8 million is currently on the market for $7.5 million. Before that, they owned a Hawaii home near Oahu’s Kahala Beach they picked up in 2022 for $8.8 million, soon after Vanessa was cast in the CBS show NCIS: Hawaiʻi in 2021. They sold that house last summer for nearly $9.5 million after the police procedural was canceled.

An Oscar-Nominated Producer Lists His Updated 1920s L.A. Home for $7 Million

A little over four decades ago, Bruce Gilbert acquired a log cabin-style home in the picturesque enclave of Santa Monica Canyon. There, amid what he calls “one of the most unique neighborhoods in Los Angeles,” the veteran film producer particularly relished entertaining and cooking for friends in his favorite part of the house—a spacious kitchen flaunting a 16-foot eat-in island, commercial-grade appliances, a wall of glass overlooking the pool, and a striking two-way river rock fireplace that connects on the other side to a bar-equipped family room.

Other favorite memories include having legendary actress Meryl Streep as a next-door neighbor for a while, plus the Rustic Canyon Recreation Center right across the street. Not only has the meadow-laced park provided access to a wealth of leisure and fitness pursuits through the years, but it also has a storied history dating back to the prohibition era when A-listers the likes of Clark Gable and Walt Disney used to gather and sip bootleg booze as part of the exclusive, invitation-only Uplifters Club.

The Oscar-nominated producer—most known for his work with actress Jane Fonda on the 1970s and 1980s movies Coming Home, The China Syndrome, 9 to 5, and On Golden Pond—has now decided it’s time to part ways with the residence after a lengthy 42-year tenure. He picked it up in 1983 from the late Elektra Records chairman Bob Krasnow, who had paid just $650,000 for the place in 1972.

The asking price is a smidge under $7 million, with Rochelle Atlas Maize of Nourmand & Associates holding the listing.

Heather and Terry Dubrow’s Beverly Hills Home Just Sold for $16.5 Million

Five months after it first hit the market for $25 million and subsequently underwent a significant price chop, Heather and Terry Dubrow’s sprawling estate in the mountains above Beverly Hills has sold for $16.5 million.

They initially were going to give the place a total overhaul, but when the planned renovation came in $8 million over budget, they decided to do a quickie $45,000 fix-up job and sell. Taking into account the costs associated with holding and maintaining the property for a couple of years and the real estate fees, The Real Housewives of Orange County cast member and her plastic surgeon husband likely took a loss on the 90210 compound they acquired in 2023 for for $16.1 million.

Josh Altman of Douglas Elliman California and Josh Flagg of Compass held the listing, with the buyer repped by Christina Pope of Sotheby’s International Realty and Gary Reavis of Forward Luxury Estates.

The two-story traditional structure was previously owned by the estate of late filmmaker Martha De Laurentiis. She and her legendary producer husband Dino De Laurentiis, who died in 2010, paid around $2.8 million for the 1940s spread almost four decades ago. Before that, it was owned by millionaire restaurateur Steve Crane, the former husband of Lana Turner, who sold the place to Where Love Has Gone author Harold Robbins in 1978 for just $850,000.

Tucked away behind a lengthy gated driveway and a spacious motor court, amid a bluff-top parcel spanning more than eight acres overlooking Benedict Canyon in the Beverly Hills Post Office area, the home offers five bedrooms and nine baths. Roughly 9,000 square feet is introduced via a soaring foyer sporting a sweeping dual staircase.

Among the other highlights is a living room featuring French doors spilling out to an expansive brick deck holding a pool and a hot tub, as well as a fireside reading nook, a formal dining room, and a wood-clad kitchen outfitted with stone countertops, a breakfast bar, and high-end stainless appliances. An upstairs primary suite comes with a sitting area, a private balcony, dual walk-in closets and baths, a library, and a media room, while the picturesque city-to-ocean-view grounds also contain a kitchen setup, several alfresco lounging and entertaining areas, and a full-sized tennis court.

The backyard is showcased by a large swimming pool and a vast terrace.

As first reported by TMZ, the buyer is a non-famous person from outside the country who spotted the listed property on Instagram and reached out to one of the agents. Sources told the entertainment news outlet the buyer was in escrow to buy the house once before but backed out at the last minute. The Dubrows went on to snatch it up, leaving the buyer with some lingering regrets and vowing not to let it slip through their fingers again.

As for the Dubrows, the couple still owns a ritzy Roberto Cavalli-designed penthouse in the Century City neighborhood of Los Angeles they paid Russian billionaire Sergey Grishin $14 million for in 2022. And though they sold their elaborate Newport Coast mansion known as the Dubrow Chateau three years ago to medical device tycoon Xu Hang for a record-breaking $55 million, they still maintain a residence in Orange County.

This Designer’s Bespoke $26.5 Million L.A. Home Has Olive Trees, a Sports Court, and a Spa

In May 2020, designer Cory DeFrancisco doled out $7.2 million for an avocado-hued, Mediterranean-style home in Los Angeles that was built way back in the 1980s. Though he liked its overall structure and bones, the place needed a ton of modifications to make it suitable for himself, his wife Catherine, and their two sons. So, the owner and principal of Muskoka Living set out to craft a family oasis from the ground up—one that would seamlessly mesh refinement and comfort.

What emerged in 2022 amid a desirable tree-lined street in L.A.’s tony Brentwood Park neighborhood was a striking abode that not only serves as a de facto showroom for the high-end furniture, lighting, and accessory business DeFrancisco owns and operates, but also has a separate pool house that doubles as a hangout for children and guests alike.

The living room has an eye-catching fireplace and sliding glass doors opening out to a terrace.

RELATED: F1 Heiress Petra Ecclestone’s Modern L.A. Mansion Just Listed for $42 Million

“We saw this house as where our boys would finish out school; a welcoming home where they’d bring their friends, with a big yard where we could play catch every night,” DeFrancisco told Luxe Interiors + Design in a 2024 article. “And we wanted something airy, light and calming in terms of aesthetics, colors and textures.”

Now, a little more than five years later, DeFrancisco has chosen to give up the keys to his ultra-bespoke residence, placing it on the market with Blair Chang and LeAnne Thrasher-Chang of The Agency for $26.5 million.

The kitchen features a curving eat-in island and an accompanying dining area.

    Mike Kelley

Nestled beyond walls and gates on an extra-wide lot spanning almost half an acre, the off-white reclaimed brick structure boasts seven en suite bedrooms (each with a private terrace) and seven baths across 9,000 square feet of two-level living space rife with alluring details. Think lovely wire-brushed and fluted paneling, rustic oak floors, nearly 13-foot ceilings, custom millwork, arched doorways, and tailor-made furnishings and decor.

Stunning from the outset is a walkway of Italian black granite pavers that leads to a welcoming porch and glassy front doors. Inside, highlights include a living room anchored by a curving white oak and fluted limestone fireplace and glass doors spilling outside, as well as a formal dining space. A fireside family room flows to the kitchen, which is outfitted with pale oak cabinetry, a La Cornue range, an eat-in island topped with Calacatta Reclusa marble, and a dining area flanked by a wet bar.

A greenery-encased outdoor space is decorated with Muskoka Living furniture.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce May Be Buying a Home in Ohio

Rumors are swirling that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce may be scouting for their next home—and this time, it’s not in New York, Nashville, or Beverly Hills. It’s Cleveland.

According to Cleveland Scene, the couple spent part of their visit to the Buckeye State this summer touring “at least two opulent homes currently for sale in Northeast Ohio’s tony Eastside suburbs.” While they were publicly spotted lunching at JoJo’s Bar in Chagrin Falls, multiple sources say the real purpose of the trip may have been more than just a stroll down memory lane.

It wouldn’t be a total surprise. Back in January, Us Weekly reported that the couple had been discussing purchasing a home together, possibly in Kansas City, where Kelce plays for the Chiefs. “They’ve talked about exploring buying a home together,” a source said at the time. And if that’s the case—if the couple is, in fact, eyeing property in Ohio—there are a few estates that would suit this A-list couple perfectly.

Roundwood Manor in Hunting Valley is an ideal fit for Swift’s love of classic, storied homes.

    Cara Miller

Start with Roundwood Manor, a 55,000-square-foot Colonial Revival estate tucked inside the gated Daisy Hill enclave of Hunting Valley. Listed at $3.45 million, it’s one of Ohio’s largest and most storied homes—built in the 1920s for railroad magnates turned real estate barons, the Van Sweringen brothers— and it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2019.

Inside, it’s pure Swiftian fantasy: hand-carved wood paneling, imported Dutch tilework, and a double-height entrance hall capped by a stained-glass skylight. There’s even a sprawling library that could’ve been pulled from Evermore—just add candlelight and a vintage piano. Altogether, it has 14 bedrooms, nine fireplaces, three dining rooms, and a 60-foot indoor pool.

Still, if they’re after a different kind of romance—something with Lake Erie views—another contender awaits in the historic lakefront enclave of Bratenahl. There, a newly restored Gilded Age mansion is asking a speck under $6 million, and it delivers the best of both worlds: old-world glamour, modern ease, and a front-row seat to the water.

A fully restored Gilded Age mansion in Bratenahl.

    Cara Miller

Set on 3.5 manicured acres, the estate layers walnut and oak paneling with leaded-glass windows and a marble-floored sunroom glowing beneath an amber skylight. There’s a Control4 smart system, plus a reimagined third floor with a home theater and game room. Below, a wine cellar, poker lounge, and speakeasy-style bar offer space to entertain. Even the original gate house has been converted into a two-bedroom guest cottage—ideal for visiting family or famous friends.

And while the Cleveland area’s median list price is just $139,000, per Realtor.com, that figure doesn’t apply in exclusive suburbs like Hunting Valley and Bratenahl, where homes regularly top $1 million. One estate is currently asking $18 million, with several others listed between $1.75 million and $4.5 million

Of course, settling down in the Forest City would mark a new chapter in both Swift and Kelce’s real estate journeys—but they’re hardly starting from scratch. Kelce’s most recent purchase made headlines in October 2023: a $6 million Kansas City fortress in Leawood, complete with a pool, pickleball court, mini golf course, wine cellar, and 17,000 square feet of living space. Kelce also owns a $995,000 home in Kansas City’s Briarcliff West neighborhood and a Florida condo he picked up in 2019 for $355,000.

Swift, for her part, already maintains an estimated $150 million real estate portfolio, including a $17.75 million Rhode Island beachfront estate and multiple homes in Nashville, New York, and Los Angeles. Adding a countryside escape near Kelce’s hometown wouldn’t be out of character.

Pia Zadora’s Former Malibu Beach House Lists for $22 Million

Robert Redford did. So have Valerie Bertinelli, Pierce Brosnan, and Dustin Hoffman. And now you, too, can live on Malibu‘s “celebrity row.”

This Cape Cod-style house along Broad Beach, once owned by the ’80s actress and singer Pia Zadora, has been in the hands of the seller for 23 years, but they are now spending more time on the East Coast and have decided to part ways with the beachfront beauty. The gated compound includes a four-bedroom, four-bath main house, plus a one-bedroom guest house that’s perched atop the three-car garage with its own living room and kitchen. Rochelle Maize at Nourmand & Associates holds the $22 million listing.

The updated chef’s kitchen includes premium appliances and pops of nautical blue.

    Anthony Barcelo

While it occupies a prime piece of West Coast real estate, the home evokes East Coast living, with design cues taken from the architectural vernacular of the Hamptons and Martha’s Vineyard. Beyond the shingled exterior, there are dark-stained wide-plank oak floorboards, beadboard accents, and nautical blue tones throughout, including the bar stools in the recently updated chef’s kitchen. A casual lounge adjoins the kitchen and spills out through French doors to a courtyard garden between the main house and the garage/guesthouse.

Further in is the dining room, and a few steps down is the spacious living room, where a wall of glass peels open to a covered porch and a large brick terrace with a built-in grill and an alfresco dining setup. Steps away are a built-in spa and a sunken fire pit, giving you two options for staying warm when the coastal fog sets in. From there, a lawn stretches out to a classic white picket fence and a private patch of sand atop a rock revetment that was put in place to slow beach erosion.

The spacious primary bedroom opens up to an ocean-facing terrace.

    Anthony Barcelo

Back inside, the ocean-facing primary suite spills onto a terrace spanning the full width of the house, the perfect place for cozying up with a good book or having a cocktail while the sun sets over the Pacific Ocean.

Broad Beach has long been popular with entertainment industry heavy hitters. Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell owned the house right next door (it was later owned by the Imagine Dragons’ frontman Dan Reynolds, who sold it a couple of years ago for $16.7 million), and other Broad Beach residents and homeowners have included Robert Redford, Dustin Hoffman, Frank Sinatra, Pierce Brosnan, and Ray Romano.

Brad Pitt Just Dropped $12 Million on Rock Star Dave Keuning’s Hollywood Hills Home

Dave Keuning has officially offloaded his Los Angeles residence in the Outpost Estates enclave of Hollywood Hills to Oscar-winning actor, producer, and architecture enthusiast Brad Pitt for $12 million, as first reported by The Wall Street Journal.

That’s a lot less than Keuning originally wanted, but it’s still $2.4 million more than the $9.6 million the seven-time Grammy-nominated co-founder and lead guitarist of The Killers paid Grindr app founder Joel Simkhai for the modern Spanish villa high above the Sunset Strip four years ago.

The veteran rock star and his interior designer wife, Emilie Keuning, subsequently gave the place a full makeover, and, after hitting the market in June with a nearly $14 million ask, the house quickly sold to Pitt at a substantial discount. David Parnes, Sam Collins, and James Harris of Carolwood Estates held the listing, with Pitt repped by Carolwood’s Marci Kays and Jonathan Mogharrabi.

The two-story Spanish villa has six bedroom and eight baths in 8,385 square feet.

RELATED: Richard Simmons Called This $7 Million Hollywood Hills Estate Home for Decades

Behind gates on a lofty perch spanning just over a third of an acre, the white stucco and terracotta-roof structure offers picturesque views stretching from Downtown L.A. to the Santa Monica Bay. Originally built in the late 1980s, it features six bedrooms and eight baths in roughly 8,300 square feet.

Upon entry, a soaring wood-beam foyer flows to a living area sporting a stone fireplace and steel-framed French doors spilling out to the backyard. From there, another living area is topped with an embossed tin ceiling and a fanciful light fixture, while an office is lined with built-in bookcases. A dining room and a fireside sitting area connect to the sleek eat-in kitchen, which is outfitted with ebony-hued cabinetry and Wolf and Miele appliances.

The creature comforts continue upstairs, where a sumptuous primary suite flaunts a Murano glass chandelier, a fireplace, a wraparound balcony, and a marble-clad bath equipped with dual vanities, a soaking tub, and a glassy shower. There’s a vaulted movie theater fit for a movie star, while the garden-laced grounds host a freeform pool and spillover spa bordered by a barbecue station and a fire pit lounge, dual garages, and a detached hillside studio with a recording space.

This isn’t Pitt’s first real estate foray into the Hollywood Hills. In early 2023, he sold a $33 million compound in Los Feliz to Aileen Getty and then turned around and paid the oil heiress $5.5 million for her midcentury modern pavilion, also in Los Feliz and known as the Steel House.

More recently, the F1 The Movie and Ocean’s Eleven star doled out $40 million for the landmark D.L. James house in California’s Carmel Highlands, which has reportedly become his main residence. His extensive property portfolio also includes a 50 percent stake in Château Miraval, a 1,200-acre estate and winery in France that he once shared with his ex-wife, Angelina Jolie.
