The awards, which recognise excellence across the UK residential property sector, took place at a black-tie dinner at the Grosvenor House hotel in central London and were hosted by actor and comedian Sally Phillips.
Berkeley Group won Large Developer of the Year after developing alongside its partners almost 5,000 mixed-tenure new homes in 2021. Taylor Wimpey’s Daly was named Residential Personality of the Year following a standout 12 months that saw her appointed as the first female chief executive of the housebuilding giant.
Other winners on the night included Unite Students, which won Student Accommodation Operator of the Year after impressing the judges with its pandemic response, and Capital&Centric, which scooped Small Developer of the Year for its work on £500m worth of developments.
Climate Crisis Initiative of the Year was won by Wates Residential for its work on the Cardiff Living development programme, in partnership with the local council. The public-private partnership will create 1,500 new energy-efficient homes in the Cardiff area over 10 years.
The award for Development of the Year went to Mount Anvil for The Silk District in Whitechapel, east London. The joint venture between Mount Anvil and L&Q will provide 700 new homes along with extensive public realm and workspaces.
More than £21,000 was raised on the night for charity partner Childline to help support its phone line and counselling services.
Speaking at the awards, Property Week managing director Richard Watts said: “It has been another unprecedented year for our industry, full of unexpected events, economic challenges and extreme global tensions that we could never have imagined just 12 months ago.
“As always, the residential sector has shown amazing resilience, stepped up to the plate and made the most of the rapidly changing landscape we’re in. This year’s finalists are testament to the remarkable innovations and outstanding partnerships we are seeing right across residential property.”
