The creative minds behind the project? “We wanted the home to feel elevated but grounded—to reflect the beauty of the lake without overpowering it,” says Laughlin. That vision plays out in the soaring 22-foot wood-beamed ceilings, dramatic angular windows, floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace, and custom walnut millwork that nods to the surrounding forest. The kitchen is a showstopper with sage green cabinetry, Taj Mahal marble counters and backsplashes, a La Cornue range, and handcrafted lighting by Gallery L7 and Ravenhill Studio. A massive T-shaped island with curved corners centers the space, flanked by fluted glass cabinets and open walnut shelving.
Elsewhere, you’ll find dual primary suites—one with a custom walnut bed, natural stone fireplace, and spa-worthy ensuite; the other offering lake views from a bespoke white oak bed. A cozy den with a wood-burning fireplace and wet bar opens to a secluded backyard with a hot tub, perfect for winding down after a day on the water. This isn’t the couple’s first joint residential project. In 2023, they put a $5.1 million price on their custom Palm Springs home, a striking, solar-powered desert retreat with a saltwater pool, San Jacinto Mountain views, and eco-conscious upgrades throughout.
