Back in 2013, around two years after he began his lucrative 11-arc foray as Captain America (a.k.a. Steve Rogers) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films, Chris Evans doled out $3.5 million for a serene Hollywood Hills retreat high above Mulholland Drive. Fast-forward a dozen years, and the actor’s estate is being shopped around for nearly $7 million. The off-market listing is exclusively held by Scott Moore of Christie’s International Real Estate Southern California.
Originally built in the 1940s, the split-level residence has been extensively updated and features a total of four bedrooms and six baths in roughly 4,600 square feet of modern Stewart-Gulrajani-designed living space accented with rustic hardwood floors and soaring exposed-beam ceilings. Large windows frame picturesque canyon and mountain views, while personalized amenities include a decked-out gym the actor used to train for his superhero roles and an expanded backyard touted as an “entertainer’s paradise.”

Holding court atop a hillside parcel spanning three-quarters of an acre—within a celeb-studded enclave that’s been home to A-listers the likes of Tom Cruise, Eva Longoria, and Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel through the years—the beige stucco and stone-accented structure is hidden away behind greenery-encased walls and security gates that open onto a wide walkway that leads up to the front entrance.
Once inside, an elegant living room is warmed by a fireplace, a formal dining room sports a wet bar, and a spacious family room connects to a sky-lit gourmet kitchen boasting custom cabinetry, marble countertops, an eat-in island, and Miele, Thermador, Sub-Zero, and Wolf appliances. A posh primary suite tucked away in its own wing flaunts a private ipe-wood deck and a large dressing room, plus a marble-clad bath equipped with radiant-heated floors, a freestanding soaking tub, and a steam shower.

Garnering the most attention of all, though, are the lush grounds, which are laced with vineyard-inspired gardens shaded by a mature coral tree, a freeform pool and raised spa, a fire pit lounge, a trellised dining area, and a perch overlooking those sweeping vistas of Mulholland and Laurel canyons and the Santa Monica Mountains. There’s also a one-bedroom guesthouse with a full kitchen, an office, and the aforementioned gym.
Evans has decided to let go of the house because he is spending more time with family on the East Coast, according to The Wall Street Journal. The 43-year-old actor was born and raised near Boston, where he began his career in school productions and community theater in the Massachusetts community of Sudbury. One of the top-grossing Hollywood actors of all time, People magazine’s 2022 “Sexiest Man Alive” most recently starred in the 2023 movie Ghosted and is currently set to appear in the upcoming rom-com Materialists.
