Actor Nick Zano Is Selling His Secluded SoCal Retreat for $3.25 Million

After almost six years of ownership, which included a couple of brief stints on the rental market, Nick Zano has decided to part ways with his home tucked deep into the unincorporated Monte Nido wilderness between Malibu and Calabasas. The veteran actor—probably best known for his role as Vince in the sitcom What I Like About You—is asking a smidge under $3.3 million for the secluded spread, which he and his long-term fellow acting partner Leah Renee originally acquired for nearly $1.6 million back in summer 2018.

Resting beyond a remote cul-de-sac street and double wood gates, the private residence is sequestered amid park-like grounds dotted with mature oaks and a seasonal creek. Built in the early 1960s and completely remodeled in the years since, the rustic ranch-style house is painted an off-white color with green trim and includes three bedrooms and an equal number of bathrooms in a little more than 2,200 square feet of single-level living space rife with polished concrete floors, vaulted ceilings, casement windows, and designer finishes throughout.

A raised-hearth fireplace serves as a focal point of the spacious living room.

A small covered porch leads to the front door, which opens into open-concept interiors highlighted by a living room accented with a white brick fireplace that stretches to the ceiling, plus a bank of French doors spilling out to a deck. An adjacent dining room abuts the skylight-topped kitchen, which is outfitted with teak cabinetry that was reportedly culled from a midcentury-modern Case Study House, marble countertops, a farmhouse sink, and a vintage Tecnogas range.

Barn-style doors in the foyer slide open to reveal a cozy den, while the primary suite has walk-in closets and a bath spotlighted by an eye-catching clawfoot soaking tub. Outdoors, the woodsy lot spans nearly three-quarters of an acre and hosts several spots ideally suited to al fresco lounging and dining, as well as a detached garage that’s been converted into a gym.

A detached garage on the property has been transformed into a fitness space.

A New Jersey native, the 46-year-old former MTV host first rose to popularity as Vince on The WB’s What I Like About You alongside Amanda Bynes and Jennie Garth in the 2000s. Zano went on to portray lovable historian-turned-superhero Nate Heywood (“Steel”) on Legends of Tomorrow, and most recently, Chad McKnight on Obliterated; and he’s also appeared in Happy Endings, Two Broke Girls, and The Final Destination.

The listing is held by Tracy Lynn Testin of Sotheby’s International Realty Realty – Malibu Brokerage and Carrie Kasper of Pinnacle Estate Properties.
