Halsey’s Historic Spanish-Style Home in L.A. Hits the Market for $5.5 Million

It’s been barely two years since Halsey doled out $5 million for a nearly century-old Spanish Colonial Revival home in Los Angeles designed by noted architect Arthur W. Larson. Now the Without Me singer is already looking to offload her place in a prime pocket of Los Feliz with a half-million-dollar jump in price, asking $5.5 million. According to public records, the listing is held by Carl Gambino and Alyson Richards of the Gambino Group at Compass.

Built in the late 1920s for restaurateur and civic leader Clifford Clinton—and designated as a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument in 2011—the creamy stucco and terracotta-roof structure is tucked away behind a hedge-lined fence and gates, amid a hillside parcel of land spanning three-quarters of an acre. Inside, five bedrooms and six baths are spread across roughly 6,000 square feet of meticulously restored living space on two levels boasting coffered ceilings, arched doorways, and stained-glass windows throughout.

The coffered ceiling living room features a grand fireplace and French doors leading out to a veranda.

A hand-carved wood front door opens into the magnesite-tiled entry foyer, which flows to a living room spotlighted by a decorative wood-burning fireplace flanked by French doors opening out to a veranda. From there, the formal dining room connects via a butler’s pantry to a kitchen outfitted with walls clad in pale blue tile, teal-hued cabinetry, a pricey La Cornue range, a refurbished original Frigidaire refrigerator, and a nearby breakfast room. There’s also a handsome wood-accented office sporting a curved fireplace, a tiered movie theater topped with a star-lit ceiling, and a primary suite flaunting a separate sunroom and vintage-style bath.

As for the picturesque grounds, they host a circular pool, a bath house, and an alfresco dining area. A detached three-car garage can also be found on the premises, which are sited almost directly across the street from a popular Griffith Park entrance point. An added bonus: The dwelling is covered by the Mills Act, which offers significant property tax savings in exchange for preserving its historic appearance.

In addition to her Los Feliz residence, the 30-year-old New Jersey native, who is engaged to Canadian actor Avan Jogia, also maintains a historic $2.5 million cottage in L.A.’s Laurel Canyon neighborhood that was formerly owned by legendary Beatles sound engineer Geoff Emerick. She recently sold a lavish estate near Calabasas that she bought from the late One Direction singer Liam Payne for $11.6 million.
