In a statement on Twitter, Jenrick, who was appointed in July 2019, confirmed his departure stating that it has been “a huge privilege to serve as secretary of state”.
“Thank you to everyone at the department for their hard work, dedication and friendship. I’m deeply proud of all we achieved,” he added.
“I will continue to support the Prime Minister and the Government in every way I can.”

Jenrick was among three employees axed by the PM – with justice secretary Robert Bucklan and Gavin Williamson also confirming their exit.
The BBC reported that the prime minister will be appointing a new cabinet this afternoon with a “focus on uniting and levelling up the whole country.”
The news comes the week after Jenrick’s keynote address at RESI Convention last week, in which he acknowledged the importance of the sector.
