Kenny G Custom Built This Lakefront Washington Estate 30 Years Ago. Now It’s up for Grabs for $70 Million.

Kenny G is used to being center stage, but right now it’s the saxophonist’s former Washington estate that’s having a moment in the spotlight.

The waterfront manse in Hunts Point was custom-built for the Grammy Award-winning jazz musician nearly three decades ago and has recently found its way back onto the market. Now listed for $70 million, the 17,599-square-foot spread was designed by architect Richard Landry. Dubbed “King of the Megamansion,” Landry counts Tom Brady, Mark Wahlberg, Kylie Jenner, and Sylvester Stallone among his celebrity clientele.

Sitting on just over four acres, the lavish spread has 327 feet of sandy shoreline on Lake Washington. Of course, it comes with its own private dock with enough room to park a 150-foot yacht, jet ski, or seaplane. From the outside, the stately residence looks like it could be straight out of Europe with lots of sandstone and glass. Inside, the abode is equally as elaborate with soaring high ceilings, intricate moldings, arched windows, hand-carved fireplaces, and rich wood flooring.

The estate was custom built for the musician in 1995 by Richard Landry

In addition to the five bedrooms and six full baths, the palatial pad sports a formal dining room, a two-story living room, and a cozy wood-paneled library. There’s also a light-filled in-house gym and a massive recreation room with a built-in saltwater fish tank. Naturally, the primary suite is where you’ll spend a good chunk of your time, and rightfully so. The space is equipped with a marble fireplace, a private balcony that overlooks the lake, and two bathrooms.

The residence has more than 300 feet of shoreline and overlooks the lake

Still, the rest of the property deserves attention. Aside from the main dwelling, the grounds offer a tennis court, a sparkling swimming pool with a cabana, grassy lawns, and lush gardens. You’ll also find a one-bedroom guest cottage and a separate staff house. Though, there’s no judgment if you wanted to keep this as your personal enclave.

Stephen Sondheim’s Former N.Y.C Townhouse Hits the Market $7 Million

Everything’s coming up roses at Manhattan’s Turtle Bay Gardens.

A historic New York City townhouse that was the long-time residence of late Broadway legend Stephen Sondheim has hit the market, Curbed reported. Listed for a cool $7 million with Michael J. Franco of Compass, the composer bought the five-story building in the ‘60s following his 1959 theater production, Gypsy. Sondheim lived at the abode for several decades up until his death in 2021.

“After a friend gave me an economics lesson in real estate, I realized that with the royalties from the recent success of Gypsy, I could afford a down payment. And then I rented out the top three floors of the townhouse to help me pay the mortgage,” the Tony Award–winning songwriter told Pamela Hanlon, author of Manhattan’s Turtle Bay.

Originally built in the early 1900s, the corner residence measures a whopping 5,690 square feet and covers an impressive 2,000 square feet of land. Inside, you’ll find a ton of preserved period details packed inside the 19-foot-wide pad. There’s a wrought-iron gated forecourt, a wood-paneled foyer with barrel-vaulted veiling, and chevron-patterned wood floors in the 32-foot living room. Nearby, the formal dining area is equipped with soaring floor-to-ceiling windows, ornate crown moldings, and a giant set of French doors.

The residence is part of Manhattan’s Turtle Bay Gardens.

Not to worry, the storied seven-bedroom dwelling has its fair share of modern amenities, too. For example, there’s a gym and a totally renovated chef’s kitchen. The space is decked out with glass-fronted cabinets and stainless-steel countertops. Upstairs, a primary suite complete with custom built-ins, a fireplace, an en suite bathroom, and an enormous dressing room takes up the entire fourth floor.

Sondheim’s music studio is still intact.

Fans of Into the Woods or admirers of any of Sondheim’s works will be surprised to find that his music studio has remained intact. Nearby, make sure to check out the stunning solarium and its original stained-glass windows. From here, you can step onto a 30-foot private terrace that overlooks the famous gardens for perhaps some “peace and quiet and open air.”

Tim Hardaway Jr.’s Former Miami Mega-Mansion Hits the Market for $9.1 Million

South Florida has always been a sunny haven for professional athletes, and at one time, Dallas Mavericks star Tim Hardaway Jr. called Miami Beach home. Now the shooting guard’s former mansion is up for grabs.

Listed for a cool $9.1 million, the custom-built estate is located in the guard-gated Normandy Isle neighborhood. Spanning a whopping 5,400 square feet, the South Shore Drive residence has five bedrooms, five and a half baths, and an impressive 60 feet of water frontage. The digs are a boating lover’s delight with a dock and lift directly in the backyard. Plus, petrolheads can park their prized autos in the two-car garage out front.

The NBA player sold the palatial pad back in October 2021. At the time, he offloaded the mase to its new owners for $6.75 million. “They wanted something waterfront, but such inventory in Miami Beach is scarce, so we looked at Normandy Isles, an adjacent and well-established area,” Compass’s Ignacio Villanueva, who represented the sellers, told Mansion Global. “And they loved the modern look of the house, boasting high ceilings, lots of lights, and a roof deck with beautiful views.”

The South Florida residence was formerly owned by Dallas Mavericks star Tim Hardaway Jr.

Inside, the boxy retreat is decked out with design-forward details including oak millwork, tray ceilings, and glossy marble floors. The vibe is super sleek and contemporary—but it really is all about those views. Walls of windows on the first floor face the pool and patio, while upstairs, an expansive primary suite looks right out onto the water. The space is also equipped with an office, a huge walk-in closet, a marble bath, and its own private terrace. Elsewhere, the abode is kitted out with a movie theater, and the open kitchen sports swanky Dornbracht fixtures.

If you travel all the way up to the top, there’s a dramatic roof deck that’s perfect for alfresco entertaining. Here, you’ll find a dining area, a small outdoor kitchen with a grill, and perhaps best of all, a hot tub. We imagine this would be the ideal spot to soak up the sunset.

Bob Dylan’s Historic Scottish Mansion Just Hit the Market for $4 Million

It’s the end of the line for Bob Dylan and his long-time Scottish estate.

After recently putting his 16-bedroom mansion near Nethy Bridge up for sale, you could say the singer-songwriter’s heart is no longer in the Highlands. According to The Times, Dylan scooped up Aultmore House nearly two decades ago in 2006 alongside his brother. At the time, they paid £2.26 million for the spread. Now, the 82-year-old rocker has hoisted the Edwardian abode on the market for a cool £3 million (or roughly $3.9 million).

“They bought it as a base,” Knight Frank agent Tom Stewart-Moore told the Scottish Daily Express. “They’ve not been able to use it in recent years, and that’s the reason for the sale. Up until about pre-Covid times, Bob and his brother would normally go there for a few weeks a year.”

Located within Cairngorm National Park, the property spans a whopping 24 acres surrounded by lush forests. The 18,357-square-foot main residence, which was originally built between 1911 and 1915, underwent a complete restoration in 2000. Since then, Dylan and his brother have continued to improve upon the pad including making updates to the heating and hot water systems. There are also three fully renovated cottages on-site.

Inside the main house, the Grade A–listed structure still sports a ton of period details. Think marble fireplaces in most of the reception rooms, intricate plasterwork on the ceilings and archways, along with timber flooring throughout. Past the entrance hall, you’ll find a billiard room, a drawing room, and a formal dining area. Also on the ground floor are two kitchens, an office, and a sitting room.

The country house certainly plays the part of a tranquil oasis from the outside, too. Take a stroll around the grounds of the stately manse and you’ll stumble upon two gazebos, a central fountain, a walled garden, and a picturesque pond. Of course, there are plenty of activities to go along with the striking views including a croquet lawn and paddocks. If you’re interested, come knocking on Dylan’s door.
