Luka Doncic Bought Maria Sharapova’s $25 Million Manhattan Beach Home

Maria Sharapova’s serene Manhattan Beach retreat has found a new owner in one of the NBA’s brightest stars. Luka Dončić has snapped up the five-time Grand Slam champion’s custom-built contemporary residence in an off-market deal valued at $25 million—setting a new record as the priciest home sale in the coastal city’s history.

Sharapova, who originally acquired the lot in 2012 for $4.1 million, tapped KAA Design to create the 8,600-square-foot showpiece, dubbed the Sanctuary, blending Japanese and Scandinavian influences with breezy California modernism. Think concrete walls, black metal framing around the windows, and expansive walls of glass that dissolve the barrier between indoors and outside. (The L.A.-based firm is also behind Drake’s Beverly Hills estate, one of three trophy estates in the Canadian rapper’s $97 million real estate portfolio.)

Completed in 2015, the five-bedroom, eight-bath abode sits on about a quarter-acre in the coveted Hill Section of Manhattan Beach, and it comes loaded with lifestyle amenities, from a two-lane bowling alley in the basement to a resort-style swimming pool, multiple balconies, and an outdoor lounge and dining pavilion perfect for hosting A-list friends.

The sale closed in late August, according to public records, with a trust tied to Dončić’s business manager, Lara Beth Seager, listed as the buyer. Carolwood Estates’ Susân Perryman reportedly held the listing, though the property never hit the open market.

At $25 million, Dončić’s purchase narrowly tops last year’s $24.5 million trade of an oceanfront home on The Strand, pushing his new home into record-breaking territory. Properties along The Strand have historically dominated price records in Manhattan Beach, but Dončić’s acquisition proves the Hill Section can now command top dollar.

For Sharapova, who shares a young son with fiancé Alexander Gilkes, the sale marks the end of her decade-long connection to the property as the couple shifts their time increasingly to Europe. Still, just last year the 38-year-old retired tennis star scooped up an $11.5 million estate in Montecito, right next door to Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom. The rustic yet refined five-bedroom residence, formerly owned by Chicago philanthropist Ann Lurie, was designed by Lockwood de Forest Jr. in 1949. She also maintains a $9 million ranch property in nearby Summerland.

Dončić, meanwhile, is planting new roots in Los Angeles. After being traded from the Dallas Mavericks to the Lakers earlier this year, former sharpshooter Chandler Parsons allegedly claimed Dončić had just closed on a $15 million home in the Big D—an awkwardly timed deal given the superstar’s imminent move west. Now, with a fresh three-year, $165 million extension and a record-setting $25 million Manhattan Beach estate in his portfolio, it seems clear the 26-year-old intends to make L.A. home both on and off the court.

Adriana Lima’s Ultra-Secure L.A. Home Uses Facial Recognition Tech. It Can Be Yours for $16 Million.

Brazilian supermodel Adriana Lima and her husband, film producer Andre Lemmers, are parting ways with their high-security home in L.A.’s tony Brentwood neighborhood, listing the 7,400-square-foot residence for a speck under $16 million.

Designed by Gispan Design with interiors by Anthony Barsoumian, the two-story abode is shielded behind a high wall, custom gates, and mature hedging on one of the widest lots in the area, with an impressive 120 feet of street frontage. Smoked glass adds an additional layer of privacy. What truly sets the home apart isn’t its sleek and pared-back modern design, however, but rather its fortress-level security system. After acquiring the property about three years ago for $12.35 million, Lima and Lemmers invested heavily in upgrades, installing automated perimeter beams, AI-powered cameras that can recognize familiar and, of course, unfamiliar faces, and a 24/7 armed patrol service.

The five-bedroom, seven-bath main residence is joined by a detached guesthouse with its own bedroom and bath, bringing the total to six bedrooms and eight bathrooms. The interiors feature open-plan living areas with seamless indoor-outdoor flow, anchored by a dual-island chef’s kitchen with Miele built-ins, plus a discreet secondary prep kitchen with a Wolf range and walk-in pantry. A climate-controlled wine display, a private home theater upgraded with more than $100,000 in professional-grade AV equipment, and a resort-style backyard with a pool, fire pit, and outdoor kitchen are additional highlights.

The second-floor primary suite includes a private terrace with a fireplace and a custom walk-in closet outfitted with key-card–access drawers for securing valuables. Each guest bedroom is en suite, with custom cabinetry and ample natural light. The property also offers a sports court and a gated drive with room for six cars. The custom and carefully curated furnishings and the collectible light fixtures throughout the home are available for purchase upon separate negotiation.

Lima and Lemmers told The Wall Street Journal, which first reported the listing, that the decision to sell was tied to work commitments in New York and Europe. “Too much of our personal time was taken away by being on the other side of the country and longer travels,” the couple explained.

Compass agent Paul Salazar, who holds the listing alongside Kyle Amicucci and Drew Fenton of Carolwood Estates, noted that demand in Brentwood remains strong. “It’s rare to find a lot this wide north of Sunset, 120 feet of frontage, so the rooms feel extra open, and the backyard gets amazing afternoon light with its west-facing orientation,” Salazar says. “It’s the perfect mix of space, sunshine, style, and peace of mind.”

A Hidden Hills Mansion With Ties to Kanye West Lists for $17 Million

Here’s a little Hidden Hills real estate trivia: Kanye West briefly owned a modest, outdated home in the guard-gated enclave favored by celebs—it’s right across from the sprawling estate he once shared with ex-wife Kim Kardashian—but he never actually lived there. He acquired the property in 2021 for $4.5 million and sold it two years later for $4.25 million, a quarter-million-dollar loss for the controversial rapper, not counting holding expenses and real estate fees.

The old house was quickly torn down to make way for something far more ambitious. Enter Three Planes, a stunning modern equestrian estate by visionary designer Jae Omar and developer H2 Development, now hitting the market for just under $17 million with Veronika Khomyn at The Agency.

The house measures a commodious 11,000 square feet, while the luxury mini-ranch sprawls out over an acre. A bold facade wrapped in Shou Sugi Ban charred wood siding, Santa Barbara stone cladding, and hand-applied plaster greets you as you approach the home. A slate and metal roof caps it off with a rustic-luxe modern ranch vibe that fits right in with the affluent suburban community’s equestrian heritage.

Step inside, and Omar’s signature organic modernism is everywhere: rich woods, textured stone, and soft earth-toned plaster combine with soaring ceilings and exposed wooden beams. The light-colored wood floors and neutral furnishings create a calm, grounded feeling.

The home’s layout strikes a perfect balance between grand and intimate. There are five bedrooms and six full bathrooms plus a powder room. The primary suite is truly a retreat, featuring a steam shower, sauna, and sculptural soaking tub designed for serious relaxation. Plus, it sports a private terrace and floor-to-ceiling fireplace. The four other secondary bedrooms on the upper floor each have en suite baths, offering privacy and comfort for family or guests.

Wellness and entertainment get their own dedicated wing, complete with a fully equipped gym, a private spa, a plush media room, and a convenient wet bar. Collectors and connoisseurs will appreciate the temperature-controlled wine room.

The kitchen is a showstopper—finished with top-tier materials and appliances. It connects seamlessly to a generous breakfast nook and walk-in pantry, while formal living and dining rooms flank the space. Outside, the narrative continues with a resort-style pool and spa, firepit, outdoor kitchen, and a yoga deck. And, true to Hidden Hills’ equestrian roots, a detached horse stable stands ready to support an active lifestyle.

Omar and H2 are no strangers to celebrity-favored projects. Omar’s previous works—like ONIN, ODIN, and Valley Meadow—have attracted interest from stars like DJ Zedd, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner, Meghan Trainor, and even Cardi B and Offset. Meanwhile, Kardashian still lives in the Hidden Hills home that she and West originally purchased as a couple in 2014 for $20 million and then had transformed into a minimalist’s dream by Belgian designer Axel Vervoordt. During their divorce, the reality star bought the house from the rapper for $23 million, and it has recently undergone an extensive renovation and expansion.

Fashion Designer Richard Tyler’s Dapper Pasadena Villa Can Now Be Yours for $12.5 Million

An Italian Renaissance Revival villa in Pasadena, California, has a storied history befitting its spectacular appearance.

Envisioned more than a century ago by the architect Reginald Davis Johnson, the $12.5 million abode is being brought to market by Australian fashion designer Richard Tyler and his wife, Lisa Trafficante. Tyler acquired the property back in 1998, but instead of buying the Pasadena estate in a traditional sense, he traded a mansion in the Hollywood Hills for it. Prior to Tyler and Trafficante making the grand residence their home, it had a suite of important owners, including the chemist and scholar Arno Behr, whose wife named the property “Villa Arno” in his honor. George Penner at Compass and Michelle Trafficante at Ashby & Graff now hold the listing.

Sitting on about an acre, the estate encompasses a five-bedroom, five-bath main residence and a one-bedroom, one-bath guest house. A classic black-and-white tiled floor lines the entrance gallery, which opens to the spare formal living room and the more eccentrically appointed library, both with fireplaces. While many of the rooms have an Old World atmosphere, thanks to the original Palladian doors, soaring ceilings, and period woods, the kitchen strikes a contrasting note. The modern space includes stainless-steel appliances and sleek white cabinetry, with a butcher’s block island smack-dab in the center.

The primary suite is upstairs, where the bedroom is accompanied by both a dressing room and a sunroom, plus a walk-through closet and bathroom. Two more ensuite bedrooms are found up here, with two more bedrooms downstairs on the ground floor. The private guest house is a fully livable space with a kitchen and a fireplace-warmed living room.

The primary suite includes a fireplace, a dressing room, and a sunroom.

Outside, the pool setup adds to the Italian ambience. The swimmer’s pool is surrounded by beach loungers and cabanas, from which you can imagine you’re on the Riviera. The outdoor dining area is equipped with a grill and a fireplace, while the landscaping includes a hidden rose garden and calming water features.

Villa Arno was initially conceived as the winter home of a New York doctor, who sold it to Behr before the property could be finished. Subsequent owners included a 1930s interior designer, the onetime president of the Southern California Gas Company, and the artist Earle Hugens. Thanks to both this ownership history and the home’s architectural legacy, it was honored as a Cultural Heritage Landmark back in 1977, and it has the potential to be added to the California Register of Historical Resources and the National Register of Historic Places.
