NBA Star Stephen Curry’s Former Bay Area Mansion Just Listed for $8.9 Million

When the Golden State Warriors made the move from Oakland to San Francisco in 2019, point guard Stephen Curry had to give up his East Bay digs due to the commute. Now, the behemoth manse that the NBA star and his wife Ayesha custom-built is back on the market once again.

Located in the suburbs of Alamo, the epic estate was completed in 2018 and sold for $6.4 million just one year later in an off-market deal, current owner Sam Hirbod told The Wall Street Journal. Fast forward three years, Curry’s former pad is now asking $8.9 million.

Sited on nearly one and a half acres, the home offers six bedrooms, eight and a half baths and a range of flashy amenities that were customized to the Curry’s tastes. Think a vegetable garden for Ayesha, a billiards room and home theater for Steph and even a personalized playhouse for their kids.

The couple enlisted Stephen Kubitschek to spearhead the abode’s design. The 8,163-square-foot interior feels ultra modern thanks to the 30-foot ceilings, large expanses of glass, heated Italian wood floors and double-sided fireplaces. Like many contemporary homes, the layout is centered around indoor-outdoor living. Custom Fleetwood sliding doors connect the living area with the backyard, which plays host to a saltwater infinity pool, a cabana, a pizza oven, a smoker and a grill.

    The upscale kitchen.

You can expect a fair share of glitzy features fit for basketball royalty, too. According to Hirbod, Steph dropped $500,000 on the media center, which is outfitted with a top-notch projector and sound system. Since Ayesha’s is quite the gourmet, the kitchen has been decked out with dual islands, Miele and Sub-Zero appliances and sleek, European-style cabinets. Of course, there’s also a seven-car garage for your collection.

Upstairs, there are separate guest and children wings that make the primary suite feel all the more private. The Curry’s one-time suite is as luxurious as you’d imagine with a 1,160-square-foot terrace and not one but three walk-in closets. If you ever dreamed of living like a professional athlete, now’s your chance.

Sugar Ray Leonard Just Relisted His Pacific Palisades Compound for $45 Million

Boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard listed his Los Angeles mansion for $46.5 million last summer. Now the estate is now back on the market with $1.5 million price cut.

Located at 1550 Amalfi Drive, the “Leonard Estate” is located in the Upper Riviera area of the tony Pacific Palisades community. It spans 16,773 square feet with a three-story main house and guest house, and together they account for eight bedrooms and 15 bathrooms. Designed by renowned architect Richard Landry, a.k.a. the “King of the Megamansion,” the now $45 million abode is like a Florentine villa set on the Southern California coast.

The 66-year-old former boxer, born Ray Charles Leonard, and his wife Bern Leonard are now empty nesters and looking to downsize, according tothe Wall Street Journal. The couple first brought it to market back in 2019 but took it off shortly after listing it for $52 million. New images of the home reveal that little has changed beyond the interior decor—and the price.

Upon entering the seven-bedroom main residence, you’ll spot custom features like exposed wood beam ceilings, ornate tile flooring and ample windows that offer both mountain and ocean views. The two-story family room, like most of the home, is a light-filled retreat with gorgeous glass doors and soaring ceilings. It’s anchored by one of the property’s three fireplaces.

Elsewhere, you’ll find a chef’s kitchen with upscale appliances, custom cabinetry, marble countertops and a peninsula/bar with space for seating. There’s also a formal dining room and multiple lounge areas—all of which are connected via winding staircases and corridors with stone flooring. When you’re ready for some private time, the spacious primary suite offers ocean-view balconies to help you unwind.

Other standout amenities include a gym, office, den and theater room. The guest house, which has one bedroom, is set in the backyard along with a circular pool, cabanas, a tennis court and the property’s lush landscaping. There’s also a designated putting green to practice your short game.

Set just minutes from the Pacific Coast Highway and coastal beaches, the “Leonard Estate” is ideal for those that value their privacy but crave easy access to the ocean. Aaron Kirman, Kirby Gillon, Bryce Lowe and Daniel Milstein of the Aaron Kirman Group at Compass hold the listing.

The Home of the Late and Legendary LA Dodger Sportscaster Vin Scully Just Listed for $15 Million

Dubbed “Home Plate,” Vin Scully’s Hidden Hills estate certainly lives up to its name.

The beloved Los Angeles Dodgers broadcaster passed away just two months ago, and now one buyer will have the chance to scoop up his longtime Ashley Ridge abode for $15 million.

Set on two acres, the Southern California compound includes grounds befitting an LA sports great. Think a full-size tennis court, swimming pool and a putting green. Unfortunately, there’s no baseball diamond, but you’ll be pleased to find a spacious 11,000-square-foot main house, plus a detached guesthouse.

According to records, Scully paid $12.4 million for the Hidden Hills enclave back in 2009 and lived there with his family up until his passing. The home looks a lot like a château you’d see in the French countryside with patterned stone floors, coffered ceilings and wrought-iron railings. A large motorcourt adds to the property’s dramatic proscenium, with a circular drive that leads to a six-car garage.

Inside, the living areas make quite the impact with sparkling crystal chandeliers, rich wood paneling, floor-to-ceiling stone fireplaces and custom drapery. Within the two-story main house, there are seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms, with a wing that’s entirely devoted to guest quarters. And when you do have guests over, the movie theater and wine cellar should come in handy. Elsewhere you’ll find a kitchen with two large islands, a wood-paneled library, a formal living room and dining area.

Scully’s home has been brought to market by Compass, with Scully’s own daughter, Cat, serving as the listing agent alongside colleague Mimi Bladow. “Having the honor of listing our family home is bittersweet,” she says in a statement. “Our home was full of so many beautiful memories, love and laughter, but as my dad used to say, there is a season and a time for everything in life. This was his wish, with the prayer that now a huge chapter of our family story had come to an end, the proverbial torch in our home would be passed to the next family to continue making beautiful memories.”

Frank Sinatra’s Former California Compound Could Be Yours for $12.8 Million

A lot of LA homes come with a star pedigree, but this hilltop compound is laden with Old Hollywood history.

Back in the ‘50s, Frank Sinatra lived at the midcentury-modern mansion in question. That’s not the estate’s only draw, though. Located on a cliff in Chatsworth, Calif., Byrdview was originally built in 1951 by William Pereira and is only one of four residences that the architect created. Aside from housing Old Blue Eyes, the iconic pad has played host to Marilyn Monroe, appeared in Mad Men (among other TV shows and movies) and was where Judy Garland famously renewed her wedding vows. Now, the legendary abode is back on the market for $12.75 million.

Byrdview was penned by architect William Pereira.

Living up to its name, Byrdview is perched high above the city and offers a bird’s-eye view of the 1,325-acre Chatsworth Nature Preserve below. The compound is set on nearly eight acres and gated for added privacy. Altogether, the estate comprises a main house, a one-bedroom guest house, plus a 2,000-square-foot pergola. You’ll also find a 50-foot swimming pool and a detached structure that could be used as a gym, massage room or pool house. If you want to channel Sinatra, the listing suggests a recording studio could be added to the grounds. You could also build equestrian facilities, a helipad or a vineyard if that’s more your speed.

The former home of singer Frank Sinatra features a glass-walled piano room, of course.

The striking, 6,661-square-foot primary residence is wrapped in walls of glass for postcard-like views. Inside, there are seven bedrooms, seven full bathrooms and two half baths. You’ll also find numerous gallery-type spaces throughout in which you can display your collection.

Although the home has been restored, the contemporary elements are artfully balanced with Pereira’s original design. “Some of the pieces of glass are original single-pane glass and one of the sliding doors that’s 18 feet long and 12 feet high,” Barrie Livingstone of Sotheby’s International Realty told Mansion Global. “It’s just amazing this 70-year-old house looks as modern as it can be.”

Elsewhere, warm wood accents and full-height windows add a mid-century feel to the living room, dining room and piano room. We’re sure the latter is where Sinatra spent most of this time. Speaking of the crooner, the sprawling grounds of Byrdview offer enough space to accommodate hundreds of guests at a time. Sounds like it’s time to get your Rat Pack ready.
