A Snazzy Modern L.A. Farmhouse Sells to a 30-Year-Old Entrepreneur for $23 Million
Over in the ritzy guard-gated community of Hidden Hills—a celeb-studded enclave inundated with the likes of Kris and Khloe Kardashian, Matt Stafford, Lori Loughlin, Jessica Simpson, French Montana and Tristan Thompson, just to name a few—an up-and-coming payments processing executive has just joined the residential fray, having doled out a cool $23.7 million for the keys to a newly built modern farmhouse-style mansion.
Originally listed for a smidge under $25 million this past October, records show the sprawling San Fernando Valley spread went to Maverick Payments COO Benjamin Griefer, who was recognized as one of the Electronic Transactions Association’s 40 under 40 extraordinary payments executives by fellow members last year at only 29 years old. He and his wife Chantal snagged the place at a $1.2 million discount.
Custom-built in 2023, the six-bedroom, eight-bath home features a little more than 13,100 square feet of two-level living space providing seamless indoor-outdoor environs throughout. Also on tap: a wealth of posh amenities, including a bookshelf-lined office space, soundproof movie theater, steam shower-equipped gym, an entertainment lounge with a seated bar and an attached garage that can accommodate up to four vehicles.
Especially standing out on the main level is an open great room, which is highlighted by a spacious fireside living area sporting automated walls of glass spilling out to a covered terrace. An adjacent dining area connects to the gourmet kitchen, which is decked out with two islands and top-tier appliances. There also are formal living and dining rooms, the former holding a fireplace and latter boasting a temperature-controlled wine wall encased in glass.
Upstairs, the sumptuous master retreat comes complete with a stone fireplace, separate sitting area that flows out to a private balcony and duo of “room-sized” custom closets, as well as a luxe bath brandishing a soaking tub, plus dual vanities and showers; and outdoors, the 1.4-acre grounds are laced with mature oak trees, and host an infinity-edge pool with an oversized Baja shelf and a spa nestled alongside an open-air cabana that’s ideal for al fresco dining with its very own barbecue station.
The listing was held by Marc Shevin of Douglas Elliman; Nicole Tekiela and Dennis Chernov of The Agency repped the buyers. More
