This $19.4 Million Miami Beach Condo Was Designed With Eye-Catching Artistic Flair

“One of a kind” is a term that gets bandied about a lot, but the late Broadway producer Luigi Caiola’s condo in Miami Beach truly lives up to the too-often hyperbolic term.

Records show Caiola and his partner Sean McGill acquired two high-floor units in one of the towers at the Continuum South Beach, the first in 2009 for $1.85 million and a neighboring unit for $3.6 million in 2018. Designer Joe Nahem of the esteemed firm Fox-Nahem was then brought in to merge the two spaces into one wildly creative space that vibrates with color, pattern, and texture.

A real estate developer and New York property magnate, Caiola co-founded Caiola Productions with his sister Rose, and together they developed more than 50 Broadway productions, earning eight Tony Awards for works including Dear Evan Hansen, The Color Purple, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, and The Inheritance. Now, nearly two years after he died, the late producer’s singular, ocean-view aerie in South Florida has been put on the market for $19.39 million. Bill Hernandez and Bryan Sereny at Douglas Elliman hold the listing.

Structural columns are wrapped in chrome or embellished with mosaic tiles.

    LuxHunters Productions

Known for his attention to detail and curatorial prowess, Nahem enlisted an army of artists and craftspeople to infuse every corner of the 3,700-square-foot space with creative flair. The visual spectacle begins at the entrance, where Studio Hoon Kim designed a molded resin tunnel splashed with camouflage-like splotches of color that connects the foyer and the 50-foot-long living/dining room. Tactile fabrics and organic shapes and materials effectively ground the vast living and dining room, which feels like it’s floating on the Atlantic Ocean thanks to vast expanses of floor-to-ceiling windows.

In the dining area, hand-carved wooden panels by Tennessee-based artisan Caleb Woodard depict abstract botanical forms that slither up onto the ceiling, and the trapezoidal kitchen sits on the interior of the apartment without any windows, so operable vertical louvers were installed to either conceal or expose the playfully outré kitchen, with its sea-anemone-inspired chandelier by Pia Maria Raeder and wooden cabinets embellished with huge pastel-colored aluminum pulls.

The botanical-themed wood screen was carved by Tennessee-based artisan Caleb Woodard.

    LuxHunters Productions

A niche off the living area holds a dry bar backed by brick-shaped tiles in iridescent jewel tones, while the powder room is an ethereal space that evokes being under the water with a shell-encrusted vanity and walls covered in shimmering mother-of-pearl tiles.

There are a total of four bedrooms (plus a den illuminated with a skylight-like installation created by Nathan Orsman) and five and a half bathrooms, each with a bold, unique style and innovative tile scheme. One guest bedroom is decked out with a deep gemstone-colored ceiling, while the primary bedroom goes for extra cozy with a coral reef–inspired headboard and custom rug by Portuguese ecological textile artist Vanessa Barragão and Mondrian-esque stained glass walls that enclose the bathroom.

Textile artist Vanessa Barragão introduced a neutral-hued coral reef motif in the main bedroom.

    LuxHunters Productions

Included in the sale are a separate guest or staff suite and two assigned parking spots in the on-site garage. The 26th-floor condo has monthly common charges of just over $9,000 a month (with another $135,000-plus in annual tax), for which the Continuum, at the southern tip of South Beach, provides 24-hour security, an attended lobby, two swimming pools, a fitness center, a children’s play area, three clay tennis courts, and an outdoor restaurant.

Rosie O’Donnell’s Onetime Miami Beach Mansion Sells for $36 Million

A sprawling property on Miami Beach‘s celeb-studded Star Island that was previously owned by Rosie O’Donnell has officially sold to Rockstar Energy founder Russell Weiner for $36 million.

That’s a lot less than the family of now-deceased owners David and Linda Frankel originally wanted, but it’s still $19.5 million more than the $16.5 million the couple—he a doctor and real estate investor, and she a former Vogue fashion editor and the sister of broadcast journalist Diana Sawyer—paid O’Donnell for the Mediterranean-style mansion 12 years ago. It’s also a whopping $29 million more than the comedian and talk show host bought the place for back in 1999.

A spacious living area opens to a veranda via wood-trimmed French doors.

The Frankels gave the 1920s residence an extensive makeover during their tenure, and, after hitting the market in late 2024 with a hefty $54 million ask and then undergoing a price drop to $48 million, the house sold at a substantial discount to Weiner, who plans to expand and renovate the estate to around 15,000 square feet and add luxury amenities like a spa, gym, cabana, and padel court. Both sides of the deal were repped by Liz Hogan of Compass.

Tucked away behind a gated motor court on over an acre, the residence features a main home and two separate guesthouses, for a total of eight bedrooms and 11 baths in roughly 11,000 square feet. There’s also a freeform pool with a slide and an air-conditioned four-car garage, plus a boathouse and a private dock sporting a 40,000-pound boat lift along more than 200 feet of Biscayne Bay frontage.

Inside the primary dwelling, a large living area sports wood-trimmed French doors opening out to a covered veranda. A formal dining room flows to an updated kitchen outfitted with an eat-in island, high-end Miele, Viking, and Sub-Zero appliances, and a breakfast nook. A luxe primary suite flaunts a balcony and an office, while the upper level holds an additional kitchen and a family room.

O’Donnell, who recently relocated to Ireland with her child Clay because of American politics, finally offloaded her New York City penthouse in Midtown Manhattan’s Turtle Bay neighborhood in April for around $7 million after two years on the market. As for Weiner, who sold Rockstar Energy to PepsiCo in 2020 for $3.9 billion, his holdings include a home in L.A.’s illustrious Beverly Park enclave that he’s owned since 2007 and an investment property in the Hollywood Hills.

True to its name, Star Island has had many high-profile people take up residence behind its guarded gate through the years. Current owners within the exclusive enclave are hedge fund billionaire Ken Griffin, who has quietly spent some $169 million on seven contiguous parcels spanning over six acres since 2023, as well as musicians Gloria and Emilio Estefan, Rick Ross, and Sean “Diddy” Combs. Earlier this year, Russian-born developer Vlad Doronin sold his estate that once belonged to retired NBA star Shaquille O’Neal for a record-breaking $120 million.

Former L.A. Dodger Alex Guerrero Puts an Unfinished Miami Beach House on the Market for $75 Million

Those with daydreams of shacking up on the Park Avenue of Miami Beach, aka North Bay Road, have a retired MLB star to thank for an ultra-modern mansion on the same tree-lined street where A-listers like the Beckhams, Cindy Crawford, and Shakira also reside.

Going for $75 million, the lavish spec-built house by Valle Valle & Partners was brought to market by former L.A. Dodger turned real estate developer Alex Guerrero. Seven bedrooms and eight baths are spread across the palatial dwelling set atop nearly half an acre with 110 linear feet on Biscayne Bay and 10,250 square feet of living space. Guerrero bought the land in 2023 for $13.6 million in 2023. Lourdes Alatriste of Douglas Elliman holds the Millionaire’s Row listing.

The living room sits between a bar and two-sided fireplace with Biscayne Bay views.

The project remains unfinished with the “intention of finding a buyer eager to customize it,” the New York Post reports. It is expected to be completed sometime in 2026. That shouldn’t mean looky-loos and potential buyers don’t have much to look forward to now, however. Renderings by Redvertex speak to the home’s one-of-a-kind design, starting from its front yard. Slatted wood and stone materials create a striking contrast here, where a sensor-activated waterfall pops ahead of the driveway.

RELATED: Inside David and Victoria Beckham’s $150 Million Property Portfolio

Once inside, the great room, beneath a double-height ceiling with skylights, has unobstructed Biscayne Bay vistas. The lounge area is sandwiched between a backlit bar and a dual-sided fireplace shared with the dining room. In all, there are three kitchens, including one for catering staff and another outside. The primary suite provides homeowners with 1,500 square feet of private space that includes access to a tranquil garden, plus a cold plunge and a balcony with sweeping views of the Bay.

A sculptural floating staircase makes an artistic statement in the subterranean motor court.

    Redvertex

Car collectors will appreciate that three coveted rides can be parked in an air-conditioned garage, while another 15 can be displayed around a subterranean motor court, where a sculptural staircase doubles as art. An infinity-edge pool and hot tub are other key amenities part of the home with massive wood-trimmed glass doors that open out to lush landscaping by Vincent Filigenzi.

Beyond the pool, the dock will accommodate a boat up to 90 feet, and you won’t see it from inside, but the property is equipped with an 8.01 NGVD seawall that protects the land from erosion and flooding for easier breathing during hurricane season.

The CEO of BlockGen Is Selling His 28th-Floor Miami Beach Condo for $26 Million

A fintech mogul is logging out of his South Florida home.

Bill Roy, the founder and CEO of BlockGen, is parting ways with his ocean-view Miami Beach condominium. Known for his expertise in financial technology, Roy’s career has taken him from roles as a lead mortgage banking analyst at Merrill Lynch to a portfolio manager at Arco Investments. He later launched the private equity firm JAM Partners before founding BlockGen, a company dedicated to transforming mortgage technology with its LoanPASS system.

Now, Roy is selling his lavish, gut-renovated residence at the Continuum, at the southern tip of South Beach, for $25.9 million with Eddy Martinez and Roland Ortiz with The Worldwide Group at ONE Sotheby’s International Realty, along with Natalia Gryczynska of Hilton & Hilton.

According to The Real Deal, Roy dropped $12.1 million on the two-unit combination condo back in 2021—about half of what he’s currently seeking. Spanning 4,776 square feet, the 28th-floor spread offers three bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms, with panoramic views to the east and southwest, showcasing both sunrises over the turquoise waters and dramatic sunsets over the city skyline. Designed with meticulous attention to detail, the home is offered fully turnkey, with a selection of high-end furnishings by B&B Italia and Minotti, curated by Gallerie Noire.

The open, sun-flooded layout includes a formal salon with an oceanfront bar, multiple lounges, and a formal dining area. European wide-plank wood floors, custom LED-lit millwork, and architectural lighting add to the contemporary sophistication. The chef’s kitchen, equipped with Wolf appliances, includes Viola marble counters, brass accents, and a large island with an integrated snack bar. A wall of windows connects to a rotunda balcony that’s perfect for entertaining.

The principal suite provides both seclusion and plush comfort. In addition to a sunrise terrace, a separate lounge, a private office, and a dressing room, the spa bath is adorned in book-matched marble with a steam shower and heated floors. Elsewhere, the sky-high pad is decked out with a media room, family room, and office, as well as two private entrance lobbies, plus a staff entrance and dual laundry areas.

Located within Continuum’s 13-acre oceanfront enclave, the residence’s $5,714 per month association fee—not to mention an annual tax bill of about a quarter million dollars—provides residents and guests access to a slate of world-class amenities, including a beach club, private restaurant, tennis courts, expansive fitness center, and swanky on-site med-spa.

A $65 Million Miami Mansion With an Aquarium So Big a Scuba Diver Has to Clean It

Mr. Helberg is going to Washington.

Jacob Helberg, President Trump’s pick for undersecretary of state for growth, energy, and the environment, is putting his bayfront Florida home on the market for a cool $65 million. However, don’t expect to find it listed on the MLS just yet—Helberg is aiming for an off-market deal as he makes his move to Washington, D.C.

Helberg and his husband, venture capitalist Keith Rabois, purchased the Venetian Islands property in 2020 for around $29 million. Since then, they’ve poured about $15 million on customizations, including a jaw-dropping 5,600-gallon aquarium imported from Japan that cost the couple about $1 million, according to agent Julian Johnston of the Corcoran Group. The tank is so massive that it requires a scuba diver for maintenance, who enters through a hatch discreetly tucked away inside the closet of the primary bedroom.

The design, originally built for Andre Radandt, former president of Bolthouse Farms, the waterfront home is a masterclass in modern elegance. Completed in 2019, the six-bedroom contemporary spread spans an impressive 15,000 square feet. One of the most striking elements is the entrance—a bridge over a reflecting pool leading to a two-story wall with intricate cutout designs by sculptor Erwin Hauer. Other notable features include an infinity-edge pool, an outdoor kitchen, a private dock with a 55,000-pound boat lift, and a rooftop deck with a hot tub for soaking in the dreamy water views.

The open-plan kitchen and living area is also a showstopper, complete with a large island, casual dining space, and twin glass-enclosed wine cellars. The couple also added custom wood floors and calfskin wall panels, elevating the home’s sophisticated feel.

A senior adviser to Palantir Technologies CEO Alex Karp, Helberg has yet to be confirmed in his new role within the administration. Meanwhile, Rabois continues to make waves as a venture capitalist, with investments in companies like Stripe and DoorDash. The couple’s love story goes beyond real estate—they tied the knot in 2018 in a ceremony officiated by OpenAI’s Sam Altman on the island of St. Barthélemy.

Helberg and Rabois recently acquired a seven-bedroom, circa-1912 home in D.C.’s Kalorama neighborhood near the French Embassy for approximately $7 million, according to property records. Kalorama has long been home to power couples like Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, as well as Barack and Michelle Obama. Billionaires like Jeff Bezos and former Trump officials such as David Sacks, Howard Lutnick, and Scott Bessent also reside nearby.

Hedge Funder Dan Loeb Just Sold His Waterfront Miami Beach Mansion for $35.5 Million

Four years ago, Dan Loeb forked over $20 million for a modern mansion overlooking Biscayne Bay in Miami Beach. Late last year, the East Coast-based founder and CEO of the hedge fund Third Point hoisted the property back on the market for $45 million. The price was subsequently reduced to $41.5 million before it was removed from the market this past June. Now records show a newly incorporated LLC named after the home’s exclusive North Bay Road address has stepped up to the plate, with the estate now under contract to be sold for $35.5 million.

That’s around $10 million less than Loeb originally wanted for the palatial pad, but it’s still $15 million more than he paid spec developer Peter Fine for the place in late 2020 before he invested some $10 million in upgrading the kitchen, millwork, and lighting. The listing was held by Danny and Jill Hertzberg of the Jills Zeder Group at Coldwell Banker; David Solomon of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices EWM Realty repped the buyer.

Indoor-outdoor living spaces are front and center throughout the bay-view home.

Sequestered amid a walled and gated parcel spanning over a half-acre near the La Gorce Country Club, the architectural residence was designed by Choeff Levy Fischman. There are seven bedrooms and 12 baths in almost 14,000 square feet of living space on two levels accessible via a floating staircase and an elevator. Posh amenities include an office, a wine cellar, a wet bar-equipped screening/game room, a gym that flows to an outdoor yoga platform, and a massive roof deck providing bay and city skyline views, as well as an attached three-car garage and a dock resting along 100 feet of water footage.

Among the other standout features are spacious living areas sporting floor-to-ceiling pocketing glass doors spilling outside, along with a formal dining room and a sleek gourmet kitchen outfitted with two islands, Wolf appliances, and an accompanying breakfast nook. An opulent primary suite is decked out with a seating area, a balcony, and dual walk-in closets and baths, while a separate two-bedroom guest wing has its own entrance.

Rounding it all out are the palm-laced grounds, which host a mosaic-tiled pool and spa abutting a sundeck and an open-air cabana equipped with a seated bar and a built-in barbecue.

California-born Loeb, whose personal wealth is estimated at around $3.3 billion, told the Miami Herald when he first listed the vacation getaway that he is selling because he wants to focus on his primary New York residence, which is in a particularly coveted area of East Hampton. Records show he also maintains a huge penthouse in a top Manhattan building that he picked up more than 15 years ago for just under $46 million.

‘Real Housewives of Miami’ Alum Lea Black Relists a Waterfront Miami Beach Home for $37.5 Million

Around nine years after it first hit the market with a nearly $18 million price tag, Lea and Roy Black’s sprawling waterfront mansion on Miami Beach’s guard-gated Star Island enclave overlooking Biscayne Bay has once again popped up for sale.

On and off the market since 2015 with prices ranging from $15 million to $40 million—and also floated as a rental for as much as $150,000 per month—the former Real Housewives of Miami star and her attorney husband are now seeking nearly $38 million for the one-acre spread they picked up in spring 2011 for $7.1 million and initially planned to renovate. The listing is shared by Saddy Abaunza Delgado of ONE Sotheby’s International Realty and Elena and Stefano Iturriaga of London Real Estate Company.

The hacienda-style home is tucked between the island’s single bridge and a multimillion-dollar mansion currently under construction.

LuxHunters for ONE Sotheby’s International Realty

Built in the early 1980s and resting amid a one-acre pie-shaped parcel that flares out to the bay, the premises include a main home fronted by a circular motor court bolstered by a tiered fountain, along with a separate guesthouse—for a total of nine bedrooms and 12 baths in a little more than 9,700 square feet. There’s also a recently added swimming pool and an attached four-car garage, plus a private 60-foot dock resting along 180 feet of water frontage.

Though interior photos are scarce, likely due to the abode’s decidedly dated state, previous online reports show a 10-seat movie theater, a sauna, and an office space. Other highlights include a voluminous living area sporting a fireplace and wood-trimmed French doors opening to a bar-equipped veranda, as well as a formal dining room and a kitchen featuring an eat-in island, Viking and Sub-Zero appliances, and an accompanying breakfast nook. The primary retreat comes with a marble-clad bath boasting dual vanities and a built-in soaking tub.

The one-acre property hosts a whimsical pirate-themed treehouse for kids.

The Black’s estate at 45 Star Island joins Rosie O’Donnell’s former mansion listed for $54 million as the only residences for sale in the pricey neighborhood. Lea, who appeared on the first three seasons of RHOM from 2011 to 2013 and went on to launch an eponymous beauty and skincare business, and Roy, a civil and criminal defense lawyer who has represented the likes of Jeffrey Epstein and William Kennedy Smith, maintain a primary Miami-area residence. They also own properties in California and Texas, along with another in the Florida Keys that’s pending sale.

Rosie O’Donnell’s Former Waterfront Miami Beach Home Lists for $54 Million

A little over two decades ago, David and Linda Frankel paid comedian and talk show host Rosie O’Donnell $16.5 million for this sprawling estate directly overlooking Biscayne Bay on Miami Beach’s celeb-studded Star Island, off the coast of South Beach.

Now the family of the recently deceased doctor and real-estate investor and his wife, a former Vogue editor and the sister of broadcast journalist Diane Sawyer, is returning the Mediterranean-style mansion to the market, The Wall Street Journal first reported. The asking price is a hefty $54 million, with the listing held by Liz Hogan of Compass.

Tucked away on a parcel spanning over an acre, the stucco-and-terra-cotta-roof structure was originally built way back in 1923. O’Donnell acquired the property in the late ’90s for nearly $6.8 million from a so-called religious organization known as the Ethiopian Zion Coptic Church. Per The Real Deal, she listed the place just days after The Rosie Show on Oprah’s TV network was canceled.

Extensively renovated by the couple during their tenure, the premises include a main home fronted by a motor court centered around a towering banyan tree, along with two separate guesthouses—for a total of eight bedrooms and 11 baths in a little more than 11,100 square feet. There’s also a freeform pool with a slide and an air-conditioned four-car garage, plus a boathouse and a private dock sporting a 40,000-pound boat lift resting along more than 200 feet of waterfront footage.

Other highlights include a spacious living area lined with wood-trimmed French doors spilling out to a covered veranda, as well as an elegant formal dining room and an updated kitchen featuring an expansive eat-in island, top-notch Miele, Viking, and Sub-Zero appliances, and an accompanying breakfast nook. A posh primary retreat comes complete with a balcony and an office, with the upper level holding another kitchen and a family room.

While the 43 Star Island Drive home is the only one currently available in the pricey neighborhood, there have been many recent sales to high-profile individuals. In 2023, LoanDepot CEO Anthony Hsieh doled out $57 million for 27 Star, while rapper and record executive Rick Ross paid roughly $35 million for 37 Star. Ken Griffin also repurchased an almost one-acre lot he had previously owned at 14 Star from retired Yankees star Alex Rodriguez as part of a land-swap deal, giving the billionaire hedge funder a total of 6.5 contiguous acres on the Miami Beach island.
