Christian Slater’s Italian-Style Villa in Miami Hits the Market for $4 Million

Christian Slater is moving on from Miami. The actor-producer has listed his stylish villa in The Magic City for $3.95 million.

Located in the affluent area of Coconut Grove, the Italian-inspired property was purchased by Mr. Robot himself in 2013 for $2.21 million, according to Architectural Digest. The two-story villa includes four bedrooms, three-and-a-half bathrooms and a detached guest suite. Compass, which has the listing, notes that the home was originally built in 1928 and was renovated in 2003.

Slater’s 3,370-square-foot abode is decidedly more Spanish in appearance: The design elements include custom arched mahogany wood doorways, stucco walls and terracotta roofing. The interiors are a mix of crisp whites, earthy tones and light-stained oak flooring. Outdoors, a brick-lined patio accompanies a heated swimming pool surrounded by lush landscaping.

A formal dining room opens up to the outdoor patio.

    1oak Studios

The first floor of the main house holds a newly remodeled kitchen with SubZero, Viking, and Miele appliances, a living area complete with a fireplace and den, in addition to a dining area with French doors that opens directly to the outdoor pool. You’ll also find a large pantry, half-bathroom, entertainment area and dining nook on the floor.
The second floor comprises three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The coveted master suite features a Juliet balcony, a sizable walk-in closet, an ensuite bathroom with marble tiling and a separate shower and soaking tub. Upping the ante is a rooftop terrace off the master, a dreamy outdoor space that overlooks the pool and comes with its own seating area.

A private rooftop terrace off the second-floor master suite.

Adjacent to the main house is a secondary dwelling for guests. The detached guest house has its own bedroom and a full bathroom that’s outfitted with a steam shower. There’s also a dedicated area for entertaining friends and family.
Smartly, the home has been fortified for hurricane season: There’s a generator on-site and the property is protected by impact-resistant windows and a brand-new retaining wall on the east side.
So, why is Slater saying goodbye to the Sunshine State? The actor will now reportedly split his time between New York and Los Angeles for upcoming projects.
Liz Hogan and Charles Celesia of Compass are the listing agents.

Radio Mogul Tom Joyner’s $20 Million Florida Mansion Has a Boxing Ring and Access to a Private Beach

Retired radio host Tom Joyner, best known for his nationally syndicated program The Tom Joyner Morning Show, just listed his Golden Beach, Florida, estate for $20 million.

The 7,340-square-foot residence has three bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, plus spacious indoor and outdoor living areas. Joyner spent two-and-a-half years gut renovating the home to perfection. When he bought the place, he fell in love with the proximity to the beach and the views, and was able to construct a vision that didn’t include copious amounts of the ‘80s-style travertine popular in the area. He worked with designer Deborah Wecselman of Wecselman Design, architect Wesley Kean of KoDA, contractor Larqcon Group and landscape architecture firm Enea. In total, he spent $7.5 million on the renovation. It was completed in 2020—but now, he’s saying farewell.

    Mike Ruiz

The home features oversized rooms that seamlessly flow into one another, plenty of natural light, ample outdoor space and ocean-framing views from every room. The modern residence is also dominated by clean lines, perfect symmetry and muted tones. Joyner’s personalized touch? Hints of bright red, his favorite color, are woven throughout the space, whether it’s within his private art collection of works from Picasso, Robert Pruitt, Allora & Calzadilla and Ernie Barnes, or the floor of his garage-turned-boxing ring. The foyer, which features a bold curved staircase, also acts as an art gallery, and this is where his prized collection currently hangs. While Joyner might not be selling his art, he is selling the home fully furnished for a total turnkey experience.

    The foyer

    Mike Ruiz

Of all the rooms, the primary suite is a sure highlight. It spans the entirety of the third floor and has a glass-encased RiFRA tub in the center and even a bright-red urinal. Joyner created a large closet to house his sneakers and clothes; it’s also ideal for showcasing a handbag collection. On the lower level, he transformed the garage to include a boxing ring and fitness amenities, complete with a vibrant red floor.
Outside, there is a swimming pool with a spacious patio, summer kitchen, beachside cabana and a four-block stretch of private beach. There’s easy access to the beach through a path from the home. Golden Beach is known for its high-profile residents and luxury homes, and it’s also the only private community with homes on the sand in South Florida; it’s guard-gated with its owm police force to ensure privacy. Golden Beach residents also have access to beachside service, tennis courts, parks and a kid’s playground.

“With direct private beach access, open ocean views from every angle and impeccable design, this beach house is a unicorn property,” says listing agent Dina Goldentayer of Douglas Elliman. “A home of this turnkey caliber is nearly impossible to find. The interior details are breathtaking and your backyard is the sand. Golden Beach is like the Malibu of Miami.”

Inside NBA Center Hassan Whiteside’s $23 Million Ultra-Modern Miami Beach Home

Miami’s real estate market is on fire, and NBA center Hassan Whiteside is hoping to get in on some of the action. The athlete recently listed his home in Miami Beach for $23 million.

Whiteside purchased the home while playing for the Miami Heat in 2016. Although the athlete currently plays for the Utah Jazz (the team was just defeated by the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Playoffs), he kept the Miami property to enjoy during his off-seasons. He initially purchased the property in 2016 after signing a four-year, $98 million contract with the Heat. At the time, he was the highest-played player on the team.

    The pool and deck

It’s no surprise why he was so attached to this sanctuary on Surprise Lake, just off Miami Beach’s coveted Biscayne Bay. Modern and futuristic, the home will appeal to design lovers with its sculptural entryway, flanked by a koi pond and manicured landscaping. There’s also a dramatic red spiral staircase visible from the outside through double-height windows.
The six-bedroom, six-bathroom home, located at 528 Lakeview Court at the end of a private cul-de-sac, features two levels of spacious living. Whiteside added several additional features after he bought the property, including a rooftop pergola with artificial turf and a movie theater. In total, he put a couple of million dollars into upgrades in the home, according to listing agent Joe Azar of Compass.

The rooftop deck features a pergola and artificial turf.

    Lifestyle Photography Group

“He is a big fish enthusiast and also added a custom aquarium in the kitchen with his initials in it, as well as the koi pond near the entryway,” says Azar.
There is also 100-feet of water frontage with a private dock, large pool, outdoor kitchen and a cabana. Double-height ceilings, stark-white walls and light wood floors make the home feel bright and airy.

Both levels have floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding glass doors for easy access to the outdoors. The first floor opens onto the spacious deck and pool, while the second opens out to a generous glass-enclosed terrace. The many balconies make it easy to enjoy the Miami weather.
Azar says that Whiteside is selling the home to find a larger space with more outdoor areas for his family, as the professional basketball player has a three-year-old son.

Whiteside, an auto enthusiast, was attracted to the home for its ample parking space.

    Lifestyle Photography Group

Azar also notes that Whiteside is an auto enthusiast who purchased the home thanks to it’s pie-shaped driveway, which has plenty of room for cars.

“Because there is so much parking space, he converted the two-car garage into a custom-training fitness facility,” Azar says. “However, there is also a two-car covered carport. You don’t lose any car parking but you gain a great gym.”

Madonna’s Former Miami Mansion Has Been Listed for $31.7 Million by a Wealthy Dog (Yes, a Dog)

Well, every dog has its day.

A German shepherd is reportedly selling a Miami home for $31.7 million. The wealthy pooch is known as Gunther VI and currently holds a fortune originally inherited by the late Gunther III, who was left millions of dollars when his owner, German countess Karlotta Liebenstein, passed away in 1992. Gunther IV then allegedly purchased the home from Madonna for $7.5 million about 20 years ago, so its current asking price would turn a tidy profit.

How exactly a dog can own and sell a house is a matter of some debate: The New York Post has argued that the pampered canine isn’t really involved with the deal all. There’s even speculation that Liebenstein was entirely made up.

    The entryway

Regardless of Gunther’s involvement (or lack thereof), the home itself is still for sale and could appeal to Northeastern snowbirds. It’s an 8,400-square-foot mansion altogether, with nine bedrooms and eight and a half bathrooms. It’s located on a coveted lot with 100 feet of water frontage and a dock.

The home’s architecture has clear Mediterranean influences, and the property sits on a 51,000-square-foot parcel of land. Outside there’s a pool with stone fountains plus a surrounding pavilion for lounging and entertaining. Gunther reportedly spends most of his days lounging in the primary bedroom, which has views of Biscayne Bay.

Madonna caught wind of the listing, and that a dog might be selling it, and shared her thoughts on the matter on Instagram last week. She posted an image of Gunther and the residence on her Instagram story and said, “When you find out a dog is selling your old house for 3 times the amount you sold it for!” Her statement was followed by home and crying emojis.

It is true that Florida real estate has become much more sought-after since the Queen of Pop parted with it all those years ago. Miami Beach ranked No. 5 in Property Shark’s annual ranking of most expensive zip codes in the US, so expect listings to continue rising in price in the area—although many may just end up tearing their new digs down and starting anew.

Home of the Week: Star Athletes Caroline Wozniacki and Dave Lee List Their Island Condo in Miami for $17.5 Million

Downsizing is typically what happens when the kids leave home, Medicare kicks in and the yard work becomes too much.
But for tennis great Caroline Wozniacki, 30, and her former NBA All-Star husband David Lee, 37, the decision to list their spectacular five-bed condo on Miami’s super-exclusive Fisher Island, is all about size. Seems 8,430-square-feet is just too much space.

“They are staying on Fisher. They just didn’t need as big of a unit,” says Jill Hertzberg, broker and cofounder of the Jills Zeder Group at Coldwell Banker Realty, which holds the listing.

Of course, for the newly-retired couple—Wozniacki called it quits last year and Lee in 2017—it might also have something to do with the $208,077 in annual property taxes and the $10,254 monthly association dues. Living on the ultra-private enclave of Fisher Island is far from cheap.
Not that its roughly 800 residents likely worry too much. The island, reached only by private ferry, has the distinction of being one of the wealthiest zip codes in the US.

Here home owners include a host of celebs, captains of industry and investors. Canadian billionaire and Aston Martin chairman Lawrence Stroll just last month sold a four-bed condo, formerly owned by Oprah, for $20 million.
If the couple sells the sprawling eighth-floor pad for close to the $17.5 million asking, it should result in a tidy profit. According to records, they bought the place in 2018 for $13.5 million.

The home itself is part of the 10-story, Palazzo Del Sol building, which was completed in 2016. The 46-unit tower claims “six-star” concierge service with such luxuries as a butler-staffed aperitivo bar and lounge, hair and makeup salon, massage room and world-class gym.
In addition to the condo’s 8,400-square-feet of living space, it has 2,500 square feet of covered terraces providing no fewer than six outdoor living areas.

The balconies provide jaw-dropping views of Biscayne Bay, the Miami Beach Marina, the main cruise-ship alley that’s Government Cut, and the crashing Atlantic.
A private elevator whisks you to the home’s grand entrance and into its open-plan layout. Ten-foot-high, floor-to-ceiling windows flood the space with light. The vast west-facing living room offers views of the sunset and twinkling downtown Miami skyline.

The spacious living room.  Photo: Courtesy of The Jill Zeder Group/Lifestyle Production Group

The room flows into the home’s sleek, gourmet kitchen with its Gaggenau and Sub-Zero appliances and large marble-topped island. Steps away is a formal dining room, media room and rec room with pool table and bar.
In total, there are five bedrooms and five-and-a-half bathrooms. Without doubt, the highlight of the spacious primary suite is its huge dual walk-in closets.

Listing photos show Wozniacki’s impressive shoe, handbag and designer sunglasses collection, along with Lee’s extensive display of trainers. We stopped counting at 60 pairs.
Additional owners’ suite features include Statuaria book-matched marble and Starphire glass in the bathrooms, Apure lighting by Porsche Design, along with premium Dornbracht and Duravit fixtures.
And, if you like the look of all the furniture and furnishings, you’re in luck: They’re included in the asking price.
The sleek kitchen.  Photo: Courtesy of The Jill Zeder Group/Lifestyle Production Group

As for the 216-acre Fisher Island itself—reached only by private ferry, boat or helicopter—there’s no shortage of five-star amenities. They include a beach club, spa, gourmet market, fine restaurants, two deep-water marinas and even a private school that offers Mandarin classes.
It also features a nine-hole golf course, as well as the Fisher Island Racquet Club with its 17 tennis courts, one of which is named after Wozniacki, who still plays there.
The games room.  Photo: Courtesy of The Jill Zeder Group/Lifestyle Production Group

Before retiring in January 2020, the Danish tennis pro is credited with winning a total of 30 Women’s Tennis Association singles titles, a Grand Slam in 2018, and holding top ranking for a combined total of 71 weeks. She’s ranked fifth in all-time prize earnings of more than $35 million during her 15-year career.
Husband David Lee is a two-time NBA basketball All-Star who played for the New York Knicks and Golden State Warriors.
As for the couple’s next Fisher Island home, they have their choice—right now there are no fewer than 89 listed on Zillow. They range in price from $750,000 for a teeny 890-square-footer to $29.5 million for a whopping 10,000-square-foot rooftop penthouse.

Inside a Pink Waterfront Mansion in Miami That Looks Like a Fairytale Castle

Marrying Millions star Bill Hutchinson has just listed his six-bedroom, seven-bath mansion in Miami’s Coconut Grove for $8.25 million. The mansion really does look like a castle with its soaring, 30-foot ceilings, spacious great hall and unique architectural details, such as Romeo and Juliet-worthy stone terraces and balconies. Maybe it’s no accident that Hutchinson bought it in the first place, as the youngest of his six children is named King.

The home has 65 feet of water frontage and its own private dock as well as a keystone-edged infinity pool overlooking the channel.

Inside, the 12,800-square-foot pink palace seems like both castle and cathedral with its gothic touches, such as carved archways and columned passages, as well as those massive stained glass windows in the great hall and one of the bedrooms. Some of the grand and quirky (for Miami, at least) details include stone fireplaces, antique stained-glass windows, French cast bronze chandeliers, cast stone window tracery and Jerusalem stone floors.
While many of the details take their inspiration from prior centuries, the home’s interior style is comfortably modern.
The huge chef’s kitchen includes a La Cornue stove and range—and massive blue hood. The master suite is vast, with an equally impressive ensuite bathroom with its soaking tub. An there’s an elevator that takes you up to the rooftop sundeck, if you don’t feel like lounging at the pool down below or want to catch the best sunset views.
The home is located at 1840 S. Bayshore Lane in Coconut Grove.  Photo: Courtesy of The Carroll Group

The 62-year-old Lifetime star bought the home in 2016 and is selling it to move back to Dallas with his 22-year-old girlfriend and costar, Brianna Ramirez and his family, where his children are enrolled in school and where his real estate business is headquartered.
The Miami manse, built in 2009 and located at 1840 S. Bayshore Lane, is listed with Chad Carroll and Matthew Dugow of Compass. LeBron James owns a home on nearby on Crystal View Court.

Inside an Ultra-Private, $22 Million Miami Mansion That Cher Once Called Home

Do you believe in life after listing?
There’s reason enough to believe that Cher herself thinks so, as the singer has had no trouble moving on from her former Miami pad, which has just hit the market for $22 million. The Goddess of Pop originally bought the mansion for $1.5 million in 1993. A smart investment, as she sold it for $4.3 million just three years later.
And while Cher herself hasn’t lived in the place for over 20 years now, it’s only been expanded since—hence the loftier price tag. The property is now 11,460 square feet, with six beds and seven baths. Architecture here is in the Spanish Colonial style, a familiar and fitting look for Miami Beach—the interiors are by renowned French design firm Liaigre.

    Another exterior view.

Inside, the double-height entryway and dual staircases offer a grand welcome. Arches and columns lend a stately feel to the space, and large windows that look out to the water blend elements of the indoors and outdoors.
    The entryway.  Engel & Völkers

Since it’s located on the gated La Gorce Island, the home offers the kind of privacy you’d expect for a pop queen—it even has its own dock, plus 158 feet of water frontage. Also, outside is a pool and adjacent pool house, as well as a separate guest house for visitors. Multiple courtyards and fountains make the rest of the property feel like the proper estate that it is.
The living room.  Engel & Völkers

As for Cher, well, some of her old digs have fared better on the market than others. The Owlwood Estate, which she once called home, has changed hands multiple times since she originally sold it and is currently on the market for a whopping $115 million. Meanwhile, an old Beverly Hills property of hers has had less luck: While it’s also been bought and sold plenty since her residency, it languished on the market, having originally listed for $85 million before it was chopped down to $48 million.
The master bedroom.  Engel & Völkers

There’s no turning back time on this Miami mansion though, which the singer left behind long ago. Interested in being the next owner? Lourdes Alatriste of Engel and Völkers has the listing.
