    NASCAR Legend Martin Truex Jr. Just Listed His North Carolina Estate for $7.5 Million

    Start your engines and whip out your checkbooks! A North Carolina property owned by NASCAR veteran Martin Truex Jr. has officially rumbled onto the market. Nestled on the outskirts of Charlotte in Mooresville—known as “Race City USA” for its large concentration of racing teams and drivers—the sprawling waterfront spread is listed for $7.5 million with Liza Caminiti of Ivester Jackson Christie’s International Real Estate.

    The recently retired NASCAR driver bought the property in April 2006 for nearly $1.5 million and subsequently custom-built a European-style manor that was completed in 2010. Sited in the Northwood neighborhood amid a gated parcel spanning nearly five acres on the shore of Lake Norman, the stucco and stone structure has a combined total of five bedrooms and nine baths in roughly 14,300 square feet.

    In addition to a main home featuring a little more than 8,700 square feet on three levels, a carriage house sports a guest apartment up top and a climate-controlled four-car garage with a workshop down below. Primed for auto enthusiasts, the four-car garage could potentially hold eight vehicles with added lifts, while another garage offers up two more spaces.

    A turreted entryway opens to reveal a vaulted living room anchored by a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace and large expanses of glass offering picturesque lake views. Other main-level highlights include a gourmet kitchen with a fireside family room on one side and a breakfast nook on the other, as well as a posh primary suite hosting a balcony, a coffee bar, a two-story closet, and a spa-inspired bath with a built-in spa tub and huge walk-in steam shower.

    A professional NASCAR driver for more than two decades, the soon-to-be 45-year-old Truex retired from full-time competition after the 2024 season as the 2017 Cup Series champ and a two-time Xfinity Series winner. The future NASCAR Hall of Famer, who is selling because he’s already moved out of state, hails from a racing family that includes his father, Martin Truex Sr., a former NASCAR Busch North Series racer who died earlier this year at age 66. His younger brother, Ryan Truex, is a three-time Xfinity Series winner.

      NASCAR’s Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Just Sold His North Carolina Ranch in a Record-Setting $12.2 Million Deal

      In North Carolina racing country, it’s only fitting that the newest real estate record belongs to a NASCAR champion.

      Ricky Stenhouse Jr., winner of the 2023 Daytona 500 and two-time Xfinity Series champ, has just sold his Mooresville estate for $12.2 million, setting a new residential price record for the greater Charlotte metro area. Known as Slide Job Ranch, the roughly 140-acre spread blends equestrian grandeur with high-octane heritage, a nod to its string of motorsports legends, including former owners Ernie Irvan and Joe Nemechek.

      The deal, first reported by The Wall Street Journal, marks a dramatic return on investment for Stenhouse, who purchased the property in 2013 for $3.8 million. Represented by Josh Tucker and Joey Adams of Corcoran HM Properties, the driver sold the estate to an all-cash buyer from South Florida—someone with no ties to NASCAR, despite the home’s track-side pedigree.

      “This estate is truly one of a kind,” Tucker says. “From its world-class equestrian facilities to its resort-style grounds and exquisite architectural craftsmanship, it’s a rare property not only for Charlotte, but for the entire Southeast.”

      Originally built around 2000 and extensively renovated under Stenhouse’s ownership, the more than 9,100-square-foot main residence is packed with plush details: a gourmet kitchen with quartz countertops and a walk-in pantry, a private library, a home theater, and expansive terraces that look out over the sweeping grounds. Outside, a vanishing-edge pool, pool house, putting green, and alfresco kitchen with fireplace turn up the resort vibes.

      Horse lovers will find plenty to gawk at, too. The European-style stables stretch 5,500 square feet and feature 18 custom stalls, a climate-controlled tack room, and a covered arena designed to top-tier standards.

      The property was last available at $12.99 million but ultimately sold after it had been taken off the open market. The sale eclipses the previous Charlotte-area record: an $11.5 million waterfront estate on Lake Norman sold in July 2024.

      “This record-breaking sale is a testament to the continued strength of the Charlotte luxury market,” Tucker says. “Buyers at this price point are looking for more than just a home—they’re seeking a particular lifestyle, ultimate privacy, and unique amenities, and this property delivers on all those fronts.”

      Stenhouse, for his part, isn’t heading far. He and his wife Madyson still own a neighboring 160-acre parcel, which they purchased in 2018, and are reportedly considering building a new home nearby. Slide job, indeed.

      The 27-year-old Philadelphia native was originally drafted by the Carolina Panthers out of the University of Maryland in 2018 with the No. 24 overall pick. Moore went on to join the Chicago Bears in 2023 as part of a blockbuster trade that included the Bears’ No. 1 pick in the draft, which the Panthers used to select Heisman Trophy-winning Alabama quarterback Bryce Young.

      Christian McCaffrey is busy gearing up for his first shot at a Super Bowl title. But that hasn’t stopped the San Francisco 49ers running back from making a real estate play, hoisting his lavish residence in the North Carolina town of Mooresville up for sale at $12.5 million—or an impressive $5 million more than the NFL’s newly named “Offensive Player of the Year” paid for the lakeside spread a little over three years ago.

      Per The Wall Street Journal, the former Carolina Panthers player bought the property in late 2020 for $7.5 million. A sales record at the time for the metro Charlotte area—one-upped by the $7.6 million transfer of another home on the lake in 2023—the French chateau-style manor could once again see top ranking if it sells for anywhere near the asking price.       Resting amid a gated parcel spanning nearly 9 acres, on about 500 feet of waterfront footage along the shores of Lake Norman, the stucco, stone and timber-clad structure was crafted by JJ Barja of Elite Design Group in 2019. A main six-bedroom home is connected via a porte-cochere to a one-bedroom guesthouse sitting atop a three-car garage that’s been converted into a gym, with glitzy amenities ranging from another gym and a sauna, to a movie theater, wine cellar, safe room, and family room and bar area that open to a terrace.

McCaffrey went on to join the San Francisco 49ers in 2022, where he’s since become only the fourth player in the team’s history to surpass 2,000 scrimmage yards and is set to compete in the NFC Championship game versus the Detroit Lions Jan. 28.
