    Bret Baier Is Looking to Flip His Amenity-Packed Washington, D.C., Estate for $32 Million

    Now that Bret Baier has upgraded into a new $37 million mansion in the Sunshine State’s affluent Palm Beach community, the chief political anchor of Fox News Channel, and anchor and executive producer of the network’s Special Report program, has decided to put his residence the upper northwest section of Washington, D.C., back on the market, as was first reported by The Wall Street Journal.

    The asking price is a speck under $32 million—or $32.5 million more than the Baier and his longtime wife Amy forked over for the 1.5-acre property a little more than five years ago, back in September 2018, before they spent a reported three years and $25 million to completely rebuild every inch of the existing premises in collaboration with developer Michael Banks and architect David Jones.

    Should the house go for anywhere near the hefty list price, it would set a record for the city, topping the sale of a circa-1810 mansion that traded for $24.5 million back in 2007.

    Completed in April 2022, and Inspired by France’s Hotel Chateau du Grand-Lucé, the stately limestone and mansard-roof structure features five bedrooms and nine baths spread across 16,250 square feet of Thomas Pheasant-designed living space.

    A gated driveway empties out at a spacious cobblestone motorcourt bolstered by a marble fountain and flanked by a pair of three-car garages. Arched double doors beneath a portico entryway lead into the main level of the multi-level home, which greets with a soaring rotunda-topped foyer displaying a decorative Nero Marquina marble floor imported from Italy and curving floating staircase.

    From there, the fireside living room has a temperature-controlled wine display, seated wet bar and French doors spilling out to a terrace, and a formal dining room flaunts another fireplace, plus a bespoke wood-and-glass table that seats 14. A gourmet kitchen is outfitted with an eat-in island, top-tier Miele, Wolf, and Sub-Zero appliances, and an adjoining breakfast nook that connects to a glass-lined family room.

    Upstairs, an opulent master retreat hosts a fireplace, sitting area, an expansive balcony, and dual walk-in closets and luxe baths. Additional en-suite bedrooms can be found on the third floor and lower level, which also has a wet bar-equipped lounge, game room with golf simulator, movie theater, gym, sauna and an indoor basketball court spanning two stories.

    Outdoors, the tired grounds were crafted by landscape architect Richard Arentz, and hold a 56-foot pool and spa, chipping and putting green, and numerous spots ideal for al fresco lounging and entertaining. There’s also a whole-home 72-kilowatt generator, as well as eight geothermal wells providing 20 tons of cooling capacity.

    Per WSJ, Baier visited Florida frequently during Covid and decided to move there full-time this past summer. He will continue to commute weekly to Washington, where he hosts his live shows, and look for a smaller place there. Baier—whose net worth is estimated at $72 million—also happens to own a second home in Palm Beach that he paid fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger $12 million for in 2022, according to the South Florida Business Journal.

      Patriots Owner Robert Kraft Just Snapped Up Palm Beach’s Most Expensive Condo for $23.7 Million

      When Robert Kraft bought the New England Patriots for $172 million nearly three decades ago, he set a league record. Now, the billionaire owner has made history yet again—this time in the real estate realm—with the purchase of a new penthouse in Palm Beach. 

      Kraft recently dropped a whopping $23.7 million on an oceanfront condo in South Florida, making it the priciest pad to ever sell in the ritzy island enclave, according to the Wall Street Journal. For context, that’s about $3 million less than the original asking price when it was first listed in September. The swanky seaside digs span roughly 5,000 square feet and comprise four bedrooms, five-and-a-half baths, plus a 1,300-square-foot wraparound terrace.

      Prior to Kraft acquiring the abode, the apartment belonged to oil tycoon Erving Wolf and his wife, Joyce. The couple bought the condo back in 2000 for a modest $6 million, one of only a few penthouses sited directly on the beach. Before Erving passed away in 2018, and Joyce in 2022, they tapped their daughter-in-law, renowned American architect and sculptor Maya Lin, to renovate the home. Lin, whose best known for designing Washington’s Vietnam Veterans Memorial, gave the residence a modern and contemporary refresh. Most notably, she added natural wood, stone and limestone to mirror the color of the ocean.

      “The apartment when we first saw it had potentially wonderful views to the water but was partitioned off by a more traditional separation of formal rooms,” Lin told the WSJ in September. Inside, you’ll find soaring floor-to-ceiling windows, walnut floors and large glass doors that lend a bright and airy feel to the open layout. Elsewhere, there’s a library, dining room, kitchen and a large living area. Considering the couple were avid art collectors, the foyer, which serves as a mini gallery, is where Kraft can now freely hang his own blue-chip works—or, of course, showcase his six Super Bowl trophies.

      Jon Bon Jovi Sells One Palm Beach Mansion and Buys Another on the Same Day

      Despite the fact that Covid-19 has put a major damper on in-person concerts, veteran rocker Jon Bon Jovi is still keeping the money rolling in through his house flipping side hustle. In 2018, the silver-maned singer dropped $10 million on an ocean-view home in mega-posh Palm Beach, Fla., that he promptly razed and replaced with a brand-new villa. Now, he’s sold the property for a little less than $20 million. But that sale was just a warm-up. On the very same day that the villa sold, Bon Jovi also sealed the deal for a $43 million ocean-front mansion a couple of miles away, as was first reported by The Real Deal.

      The newly built, recently sold villa sits on a lot that measures in at about one-third of an acre and has five bedrooms, five full and three half-bathrooms in about 5,000 square feet. Originally listed in May for $22.9 million, the home was built by the Shapiro Pertnoy Company with interior design by Caroline Rafferty. The casually elegant villa has a relaxed coastal feel about it with a light color scheme and a buttery, stone-accented exterior. Wire brushed oak and creamy limestone flooring can be found throughout the house, while herringbone-patterned cypress planks cover the ceiling of the cavernous living and dining room. And, for the book lover, the spacious library features custom, built-in shelving.

There’s also a vast owner’s retreat, which is comprised of a private study with a morning bar, plus an oceanfront terrace, two bathrooms and two huge walk-in closets.

      Designed by Thomas Kirchhoff with interiors by David Kleinberg, the sumptuous mansion offers a double-height foyer with inlaid marble floor, spacious living and dining rooms embellished with coffered ceilings, and an ocean-facing library wrapped in lustrous paneling. More casual, but equally ample family quarters include a chef’s kitchen with white marble counters, a cozy breakfast room and a sea-view double-height family room with a trio of floor-to-ceiling arched French doors. Outside, an arched dining loggia overlooks a courtyard swimming pool, while two oceanfront loggias look across manicured lawns dotted with swaying palm trees.       With the right updates, and given its impressive dimensions and supreme location, it’s not inconceivable the estate could follow the pattern of sky-high priced sales in the blazing hot Palm Beach market over the past year. These include the Kennedy family’s former compound, which sold for a staggering $70 million, and two estates on the famed Billionaire’s Row, located near Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago, that each sold for over $100 million.

      Bon Jovi has been a prolific collector of expensive homes for years, but his foray into house-flipping is a fairly recent development. He still owns a four-bedroom and 4.5 bathroom condo in New York City’s West Village that he paid almost $19 million for in 2017, as well as an East Hampton mansion he picked up back in 2004 for $7.6 million. His lavish French chateau-style manse located in Middletown, N.J., known as Hight Point Estate and designed by world-renowned architect Robert A.M. Stern, was put up for sale in 2017 and remains for sale at an undisclosed price that has been speculated to be around $20 million. More
