Derek Jeter’s Former Manhattan Penthouse Swings Onto the Market for $16.5 Million

Another day, another professional athlete’s home is up for grabs. First, it was the bonkers Orlando-area mansion of MLB legend Johnny Damon. Now, the former Manhattan penthouse of fellow retired New York Yankees player Derek Jeter has hit the market.

Listed for $16.5 million with Gisela Vergara and Shawn Felker at Corcoran, the 5,380-square-foot aerie is perched atop 845 United Nations Plaza—also known as Trump World Tower. Mr. November splashed out a cool $12.7 million for the place back in 2001 and sold the condo in September 2012 for a hefty $15.5 million to Silvio Luiz Reichert, according to The New York Times. Reichert reportedly purchased the property through a limited liability company that’s linked to Anheuser-Busch.

“It’s really breathtaking,” Vergara told Mansion Global. “You walk in its triple exposure, floor-to-ceiling windows. From every room you’re seeing landmarks. Every bedroom, the office, the kitchen—it’s truly outstanding.”

Since the shortstop moved out, the palatial pad has undergone a total renovation. Upon entering the home, you’re first greeted with striking views of the Empire State Building, Central Park, the George Washington Bridge, and One World Trade. A few of the apartment’s other standout features include its soaring 16-foot ceilings and massive slate fireplace. Elsewhere, the spread’s 79-foot frontage along East 47th Street connects the living, dining, and entertainment areas.

The apartment has been totally renovated since Jeter sold it in 2012.

The eat-in chef’s kitchen has been decked out with custom cabinets and top-of-the-line appliances from Wolf and Sub-Zero. At the center is a large island that can accommodate all of your catering needs. The penthouse itself is broken into two wings. On one side, you have the primary bedroom, which faces out to the East River. The ensuite main bathroom adds to the sense of luxury and sports a free-standing soaking tub, a rain shower, white marble tile, and custom cabinetry. Meanwhile, the other half of the home holds a swanky wood-paneled office and an ensuite guest room.

The aerie has 14-foot floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook New York City.

“This completely remodeled extraordinary property will take your breath away during the day or evening watching the most gorgeous sunset of Manhattan,” notes the listing. “Truly one of a kind, this is a rare offering opportunity to claim a residence that transcends the ordinary either for a private living or the most special entertainment alike.”

Kendrick Lamar Just Dropped $8.6 Million on 3-Floor Penthouse in Brooklyn

There’s nothing humble about Kendrick Lamar’s new home.

The Swimming Pools rapper has just splashed out a cool $8.6 million for a three-floor penthouse in Brooklyn. The Brooklyn Heights triplex, which was originally listed for $8.9 million, is positioned atop Pierhouse, a 10-story apartment building that, per The New York Post, counts Ed Sheeran, Matt Damon, and Amy Schumer among its A-list residents. The Post also revealed that the hip-hop hitmaker was previously shopping around the Quay Tower in Brooklyn Heights and Olympia in Dumbo before deciding on 90 Furman Street.

When it comes to Kung-Fu Kenny’s 3,140-square-foot pied-à-terre, the property features four bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, and a whopping 2,000 square feet of outdoor space spread over two levels, including a private rooftop that overlooks the East River, Brooklyn Bridge Park, and lower Manhattan. Some of the standout features of the townhouse-style condo are its soaring 18-foot ceilings, reclaimed heartwood pine floors, and walls of floor-to-ceiling windows.

Kendrick Lamar just nabbed a triplex penthouse at a celeb-loved apartment building in Brooklyn.

Elsewhere, the kitchen is decked out with top-of-the-line Gaggenau appliances, swanky Calacatta Tucci marble counters, and solid American walnut cabinets. Of course, the 17-time Grammy Award-winner will have access to all of the development’s amenities too. These include 24-hour concierge services, a fitness center, and a meditation studio. Residents of Pierhouse are also able to enjoy a slate of perks, such as a rooftop swimming pool and bar, provided by the adjacent 1 Hotel.

The rapper’s new pad has floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the East River and lower Manhattan skyline.

King Kendrick’s latest New York City purchase joins the celebrated musician’s robust real estate portfolio. Most recently, in 2022, he dropped a hefty $15.9 million on a house in the Bel-Air area of Los Angeles. The 8,000-square-foot estate was originally built in the 1950s by architect Edward Fickett—who was also a consultant to President Dwight D. Eisenhower—and features seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and enviable extras like a swimming pool, a 4K movie theater, a gym, and a wine cellar.

The Pulitzer Prize-winning singer/songwriter snagged a $9.7 million mansion in Manhattan Beach in 2019, and the year before, he ponied up $2.6 million for an investment property in Calabasas. His first purchase, however, was a modest four-bedroom abode that he bought in Eastvale in 2014.

Danny McBride’s Duplex Penthouse in the Heart of Hollywood Can Be Yours for $1.8 Million

The year before Danny McBride’s HBO series Eastbound and Down premiered in 2009, the showbiz multihyphenate plunked down a tad more than $1.4 million for a duplex penthouse in the heart of Hollywood that he’s now got on the market for a sliver under $1.8 million. The condo, with HOA fees of almost $2,500 a month, is available with Deedee Howard of The Agency.

McBride, who also co-created and starred in Vice Principals and the skewering comedy series The Righteous Gemstones, has had the one-bedroom, two-bath aerie on and off the sales and rental market several times in previous years, according to online records, including in 2013 when it was available to lease at $8,500 per month as well as in 2020 when it popped up for sale for $1.85 million.

The double-height penthouse has unobstructed views of The Hollywood Sign and the Capital Records building.

    Jason Shaltz

Perched ten floors above the corner of Hollywood and Vine within the landmark Broadway Hollywood building, the not-quite 2,200-square-foot loft-style condo has soaring, double-height ceilings and broad ribbons of windows with panoramic views of the iconic Capital Records building as well as The Hollywood Sign.

Dark brown hardwood floors reflect the copious sunlight that pours in while also grounding the voluminous spaces that offer vast expanses of cotton-white walls ideal for artwork. Exposed ductwork nods to the classic industrial loft style. Below the lofted bedroom, the kitchen has stainless-steel cabinetry and premium-grade appliances. And beyond the kitchen, near the entrance, there’s a cozy media lounge.

Off the kitchen and near the front door is a cozy media lounge.

    Jason Shaltz

At the foot of the staircase, a small area is well suited as a home office, and at the top, the bedroom hovers above the living space below and looks out over the city through the massive windows. A spacious walk-in closet and an Art Deco-inspired marble bathroom complete the suite, while a second bathroom on the main floor is also decadently dressed in marble tiles. The penthouse transfers with two parking spaces with 24-hour valet service, a nice feature in a car-centric city where people have been known to drive half a block to the corner supermarket.

The building, with a lively Katsuya sushi restaurant as its primary ground-floor retail tenant, has long been a favorite with showbiz movers and shakers. Previous owners and past tenants include Jason Statham, Charlize Theron, and Erika Jayne of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, who once maintained her “Pretty Mess” clubhouse in the building.

The marble bathrooms evoke the glossy glamour of Old Hollywood.

    Jason Shaltz

The building offers residents secured access via an attended lobby dripping in Old Hollywood glamour. A recently refurbished rooftop includes a swimming pool and a spa with wraparound views, along with a fitness center. The Broadway Hollywood, built in the late 1920s as the B.H. Dyas Company Department Store and converted to condos in 2005, currently falls under the Mills Act, which reduces property taxes in exchange for maintaining the historic integrity of the building.

McBride and his family have lived primarily in South Carolina since 2017, when they sold their Hollywood Hills home for $3.5 million and picked up a waterfront spread near Charleston for $4 million.

Bad Bunny is officially a New Yorker.

Originally from Puerto Rico, the Grammy-winning rapper, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, is renting an ultra-swanky penthouse in Chelsea for a whopping $150,000 per month, the New York Post first reported. Spanning an impressive 4,552 square feet, the apartment sports four bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms. The palatial pad is matched with 4,593 square feet of patio space, which includes a private 32-foot lap pool, an outdoor kitchen, and multiple seating areas.

Last listed for $18.5 million with Chase Landow and Ryan Serhant of Serhant, the airy abode is expected to have its streaming debut next year when it airs on the broker’s new Netflix series, The Post reported. For now, we’ll walk you through what’s inside. The apartment is decked out with oak flooring, custom wood paneling, and soaring 12-foot ceilings. Of course, living high above the Big Apple also comes with the benefit of picturesque city views, courtesy of the home’s sliding glass walls.

Bad Bunny is renting a New York City penthouse for $150,000 per month.

Entered via a key-lock elevator, the condo opens up to a windowed gallery and leads into an open living room, library, and south-facing terrace. The library comprises a super sleek, sculptural staircase straight to the sprawling rooftop. Back on the main floor, you’ll find a dining room and an eat-in kitchen. The latter is kitted out with custom Molteni cabinets, stainless steel counters, terrazzo floors, and top-of-the-line Gaggenau appliances.

The four-bedroom apartment in Chelsea over looks the city and features a 32-foot lap pool.

Other standout features include the primary suite. The bedroom is undeniably worthy of a global superstar with dual walk-in closets and a private balcony. The en-suite bath is equally impressive. Think giant slabs of marble, heated floors, an oil-finished oak vanity, and a soaking tub. While Bad Bunny may be spending more time in the concrete jungle, the Latin artist also owns property in San Juan, Miami, and Los Angeles. Earlier this year, he dropped $8.8 million on a Hollywood Hills mansion.

Richard Burton’s Former London Mansion Hits the Market for $9.8 Million

Richard Burton went from being a humble, stage-trained Welsh actor to an international movie star, and it was while he lived in a handsome house in London’s leafy Hampstead Village that he cemented his status as an Old Hollywood legend.

The late performer lived on Lyndhurst Road with his first wife, Sybil Christopher, between 1949 and 1956. The couple originally bought a one-bedroom, ground-floor apartment in the building and eventually purchased the remaining floors following Burton’s success. It was while in residence on Lyndhurst Road that he took on some of his most famous roles, including those in The Desert Rats, The Robe, and Alexander the Great.

It’s also where he lived when he first met Elizabeth Taylor in 1953. Burton and Taylor would not, however, get to know each other romantically until after they were reacquainted in the early 1960s on the set of the epic period drama Cleopatra. They would later and famously go on to marry—twice.

The London residence where Welsh actor Richard Burton once lived has hit the market

    Grant Frazer

Fast-forward to today, and the Victorian residence is now on the market for £7.95 million (or roughly $9.8 million). A blue plaque near the front door commemorates Burton’s time in residency; the historic destination was unveiled in 2011 by fellow Welsh actor Michael Sheen.

“This Blue Plaque house is not only notable due to the provenance of its former famous resident, but it also represents a rare opportunity to purchase a magnificent family home situated in the heart of Hampstead and within easy walking distance of Hampstead Heath,” says Mark Pollack, co-founding director of Aston Chase, in a press release.

The primary suite has views of St Paul’s Cathedral

    Grant Frazer

The abode, built by architect Henry Davidson, dates back to the 1860s. Altogether, the spread comprises a semi-detached dwelling with six bedrooms plus a separate self-contained two-bedroom garden apartment.

There are heaps of original period details throughout, like high ceilings, tall windows, marble fireplaces, and French doors. Other highlights include a top-floor penthouse studio, a 60-foot-long rear garden, and views of St. Paul’s Cathedral from the primary suite.

“It’s a rare find on one of Hampstead’s most sought-after tree-lined streets,” adds Knight Frank’s Katy Brookes, who’s co-listing the home.

First Look: Inside the Luxurious Nobu Residences in Los Cabos

Nobu Hotel Los Cabos is about to feel a lot more like home. The Baja California Sur resort has officially unveiled the design of its private residences—and we got a sneak peek inside.

The veteran hospitality brand’s Mexico outpost has added an additional 60 residential-style accommodations to its swanky 200-room property, ranging from one to four-bedroom suites that all live up to Nobu’s contemporary, Japanese aesthetic. The luxurious new units act as an extension of the hotel—meaning, they’re only available for guest bookings, not for lease or to buy like traditional residential concepts.

“Our goal when creating Nobu Residences was to give guests a sanctuary that they can call home in Los Cabos,” says Richard Sorensen, general manager at Nobu Hotel Los Cabos, in a press statement. “With amplified luxury amenities unique to the residences such as private pools, home gyms, barbecues, and more, new doors are opened to experience the Nobu lifestyle on a personal level, whether it’s hosting private dinners and events, or just spending quality time with family.”

From the moment you arrive, you’ll be treated to a private VIP check-in experience and an epic array of exclusive amenities. The latter runs the gamut from your own fitness room and massage suite to a 24-hour personal concierge and an au pair room. Each of the 60 residences is minimalist in its design and pays homage to the Baja area with handcrafted decor by local artisans. A fully functioning kitchen, a terrace deck, and a deep soaking tub in the bathroom all come standard with the suites. In the one-bedroom Hikari category, there are either garden or golf course views, a living room, and a dining area spread across its 1,046 square feet. Elsewhere, the 2,051-square-foot Asahi accommodation offers up the same, apart from its two beds and a terrace with a barbecue.

Each of the 60 suites comes with an outdoor terrace deck

Rihanna Just Snapped Up a Lavish L.A. Penthouse for $21 Million

Rihanna is making room for her growing family. The singer, who’s currently expecting her second child, just swapped her longtime Century City condo for a sprawling $21 million penthouse in the same celeb-loved building.

According to Dirt, the mogul has moved from her three-bedroom, 3,500-square-foot apartment at the Century right into a 9,290-square-foot mansion in the sky. The former has served as her primary residence since 2014, located within the Robert A. M. Stern–designed building in Los Angeles. Her new aerie, which she’ll share with rapper A$AP Rocky and their two kids, spans the entire 40th floor and offers up four expansive bedrooms and six and a half baths.

Rihanna just dropped $21 million on a full-floor penthouse at the Century in Los Angeles.

    Michael McNamara and Jason Speth

The pop star is reported to have purchased the pad from seller Nick Molnar, the cofounder of Afterpay. Molnar originally listed the apartment for $28 million after nearly two years of ownership. Although, he only splashed out $21.6 million when he bought the unit from actor Matthew Perry. The Friends star lived at this same scenic perch from 2017 to 2021 and made a ton of upgrades to the place during the four-year period. He turned to architect Scott Joyce and interior designer LM Pagano to renovate the spread, which now includes a Hollywood-style movie theater and a massive primary suite with a fireplace and dual bathrooms.

The 40th-floor apartment was formerly owned by actor Matthew Perry.

    Michael McNamara and Jason Speth

Throughout the circular-shaped dwelling, there are soaring floor-to-ceiling windows with sweeping views of the city. Additional highlights include four outdoor terraces, a large living room, and a state-of-the-art kitchen. The 42-story tower is known for being a “paparazzi-proof” escape for California’s rich and famous, decked out with a 24-hour concierge service, a fitness center, and a 75-foot swimming pool. Everyone from Denzel Washington and Nobu Matsuhisa to Paula Abdul and Terry Dubrow has been residents of the building. In fact, Candy Spelling has an enormous two-floor penthouse right on top of Rihanna’s new digs.

Patriots Owner Robert Kraft Just Snapped Up Palm Beach’s Most Expensive Condo for $23.7 Million

When Robert Kraft bought the New England Patriots for $172 million nearly three decades ago, he set a league record. Now, the billionaire owner has made history yet again—this time in the real estate realm—with the purchase of a new penthouse in Palm Beach.

Kraft recently dropped a whopping $23.7 million on an oceanfront condo in South Florida, making it the priciest pad to ever sell in the ritzy island enclave, according to the Wall Street Journal. For context, that’s about $3 million less than the original asking price when it was first listed in September. The swanky seaside digs span roughly 5,000 square feet and comprise four bedrooms, five-and-a-half baths, plus a 1,300-square-foot wraparound terrace.

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft bought a $23.7 million penthouse in Palm Beach, Florida

    Living Proof/The Corcoran Group

Prior to Kraft acquiring the abode, the apartment belonged to oil tycoon Erving Wolf and his wife, Joyce. The couple bought the condo back in 2000 for a modest $6 million, one of only a few penthouses sited directly on the beach. Before Erving passed away in 2018, and Joyce in 2022, they tapped their daughter-in-law, renowned American architect and sculptor Maya Lin, to renovate the home. Lin, whose best known for designing Washington’s Vietnam Veterans Memorial, gave the residence a modern and contemporary refresh. Most notably, she added natural wood, stone and limestone to mirror the color of the ocean.

Kraft set a new real estate record when he purchased the area’s most expensive condo

    Living Proof/The Corcoran Group

“The apartment when we first saw it had potentially wonderful views to the water but was partitioned off by a more traditional separation of formal rooms,” Lin told the WSJ in September. Inside, you’ll find soaring floor-to-ceiling windows, walnut floors and large glass doors that lend a bright and airy feel to the open layout. Elsewhere, there’s a library, dining room, kitchen and a large living area. Considering the couple were avid art collectors, the foyer, which serves as a mini gallery, is where Kraft can now freely hang his own blue-chip works—or, of course, showcase his six Super Bowl trophies.
