A California Beach House With a Guitar-Shaped Pool Just Listed for $15 Million

Good news, music fans! A beach house in Northern California with serious rock ‘n’ roll connections just hit the market.

Built in 1920, the storied property in the unincorporated township of Bolinas, a notoriously insular beach town about 30 miles north of San Francisco, is the former abode of Grace Slick, lead singer of Jefferson Airplane. In addition, the oceanfront hideaway has hosted fellow musical legends, including David Crosby and the Grateful Dead’s Jerry Garcia. The 4,074-square-foot spread sits on nearly an acre of land with roughly 400 feet of picturesque beachfrontage along the Pacific Ocean. Most oceanfront homes in Bolinas are perched on high bluffs. Slick’s former hideaway, however, is one of only two properties sited directly on the beach; the other is owned by Marc Pincus, founder of the social gaming powerhouse Zynga.

On the market for just shy of $15 million, the home has been owned for over 25 years by Mark Talucci, chairman and co-founder of the Sak Group, one of the country’s largest lifestyle accessory companies. Along with its rock star past, the seafront spread was once used as a gathering place for affluent visitors who would arrive from San Francisco by boat, Mansion Global reported, and the dwelling also served at various times as a hotel, a tea house, a bathhouse, and a casino.

The rock star retreat is one of only two properties in Bolinas with direct beachfrontage.

    Tom Rohrer, Open Homes Photography

“I couldn’t find anything with this much beachfront property,” Talucci told the listing site. “It’s practically in the ocean and built on a seawall.” The area itself, which is made up of about 1,600 people, offers tons of privacy and has long been a sanctuary for artists and creatives, including actress Frances McDormand, chef Alice Waters, and Third Eye Blind’s Stephan Jenkins.

“Bolinas is known for being exclusive and reclusive in that it’s only accessible via unmarked roads, so before the days of GPS, locals would tear down signs on the state route to keep outsiders from finding it,” Kara Warrin of Golden Gate Sotheby’s International Realty told Mansion Global.

The kitchen and dining area have unimpeded ocean and coastline views.

    Tom Rohrer, Open Homes Photography

Altogether, the home has four bedrooms and four bathrooms. Talucci and his wife have painstakingly restored the interiors while keeping the traditional and low-key Northern California beach house look. Think wood shingles, exposed beams, and lots of shiplap. In the kitchen, the couple even went as far as to preserve the home’s original Douglas fir floors. Additional highlights include a main-level primary suite with an outdoor shower and patio, a recreation room with a built-in wet bar, and a sauna. Out back, a nod to the home’s musical pedigree, there’s even a guitar-shaped swimming pool that Slick designed herself in the ‘70s.

“The spacious family room was the home of the practice stage where members of Jefferson Airplane, the Grateful Dead, and other legendary musicians crafted songs and jammed late into the evening,” notes the listing. “Like those timeless classics, this home is indeed one for the ages.”

Russell Wilson and Ciara’s Lakefront Estate in Washington Will Net Them $31 Million

High-end shopping and lush woodlands are just two of Bellevue, Washington‘s many attractions, alongside its sparkling views of Lake Washington. NFL star Russell Wilson bought a lavish estate in the area in 2015 for $6.7 million. That was three years after being drafted by the Seattle Seahawks, and things heated up with Grammy-nominated singer Ciara. The couple wed a year later, and soon they scooped up the lot next door for another $6.7 million. After 10 years with the Seahawks and two years with the Denver Broncos, Wilson is continuing the 2024 season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the family’s opulent digs in Bellevue are now slated to pocket them some big bucks—about $31 million, to be exact.

The couple built a sports court on the estate and intended to make additional improvements, but instead placed both of the estate’s parcels on the market in April 2022. The parcels were offered separately. The less developed one was quickly sold for $9.75 million, while the lot with the main residence was initially priced at $28 million. The house, set on an acre of waterfront land, saw two price cuts before it landed at its final asking price of $21.25 million. It is currently in contract and expected to close this month, the couple confirmed, and is expected to close at or near the asking price a person familiar with the deal recently told Mansion Global.

Inside the fireside living room, a curved wall of glass provides a sweeping view over Lake Washington.

    Andrew Webb/Clarity Northwest Photography

The Mediterranean-inspired mansion spans over 11,000 square feet with six bedrooms and five en-suite baths, plus a powder room. All three floors are accessible via an elevator and offer 180-degree views of the Seattle skyline. The abode also comes with 164 feet of lakefrontage, which includes a private 60-foot yacht slip.

A grand rotunda welcomes guests onto the grounds, where the stucco façade pops against lush landscaping. In the foyer, a spiral staircase alludes to the home’s sophisticated appeal beneath a chandelier and coffered ceiling. Swanky features like stone-encased fireplaces and windowed alcoves enhance the living room and formal dining room. The gourmet kitchen, meanwhile, offers access to high-end appliances such as a gas range and two Sub-Zero fridges, plus a massive breakfast bar island. Other upscale amenities featured in the home include a theater, a wine room, two fitness studios, a recording studio, two offices, a sunroom, and an au pair suite.

The glamorous primary bedroom has a circular alcove seating area and a lake-view balcony.

    Andrew Webb/Clarity Northwest Photography

The spacious primary suite is extraordinary, featuring a wood-burning fireplace and stunning lake views from a circular alcove lined with picture windows. Naturally, it includes a deluxe en-suite bath replete with a soaking tub, shower, and expansive sink space. The suite’s light-filled walk-in closet is another appealing feature, with an excess of drawers and hanging spaces. A glam room with a fireplace adjoins to the closet.

Even compared to its glowing sunset views of the cityscape, the two-story treehouse, no doubt built for the couple’s four kids, is arguably the highlight of the grounds. A spiral staircase provides access to the whimsical structure that’s covered in a grassy material, like something out of a storybook.

Elsewhere, the new owner can take in the open views from the patio with a firepit or head down to the dock to set sail for evening boat rides. Having the option is nice, right? Carmen Gayton of Windermere Real Estate holds the listing.

F1’s Charles Leclerc Snaps Up a Condo at One of South Florida’s Ritziest New Towers

Though it’s not even set to make its debut for at least three more years, Two Roads Development’s glassy prism-shaped residential tower in Miami’s trendy Edgewater neighborhood has already snagged a hot new resident. According to Miami Real Investment, 26-year-old Formula 1 racer Charles Leclerc has officially picked up a waterfront “Signature Residence” at Edition Residences, Miami Edgewater, adding to a property portfolio that includes a lavish apartment in his birthplace of Monaco.

Hans Baumgartner, the real estate broker who repped Leclerc in the recently inked deal, declined to identify exactly which of the building’s 185 units the successful Ferrari driver purchased or how much he spent. But these particular condos span the 10th to 40th floors of the 55-story Bayshore Drive tower and start at $3.1 million.

Charles Leclerc relaxes in the $10 million sales gallery at Edition Residences, Miami Edgewater (right).

Additional highlights include private elevator lobbies and spacious great rooms holding combination living and dining areas. They’re nestled alongside bespoke Italkraft kitchens outfitted with eat-in islands and top-tier Wolfe and Sub-Zero appliances. There are also grand primary suites with walk-in closets, as well as spa-inspired baths equipped with dual vanities, stone countertops, freestanding soaking tubs and showers.

Floor plans include open-concept great rooms sporting living and dining areas flanked by a gourmet kitchen.

    Two Roads Development

Leclerc will be privy to 45,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor amenities, including lush waterfront gardens designed by landscape architecture firm ESDA, a cabana-lined swimming pool and cinema, a poolside garden lounge and bar, a fitness center and yoga studio, pickleball courts, a full-service spa operated by Edition, a boardroom, a library lounge, six guest suites and an on-site restaurant.

Perhaps sparking Leclerc’s attention the most? A high-tech racing simulator, which promises to offer residents “an extraordinary and adrenaline-pumping experience.”

The property’s swimming pool is lined with cabanas.

    Two Roads Development

“We are continuing to see increased interest from international, high-profile and celebrity buyers who are attracted to the tower’s heightened level of security and privacy,” Taylor Collins, managing partner of Two Roads Development, said in a press statement. “With our development deeply rooted in hospitality, buyers feel a deep connection to the curated lifestyle the Edition brand offers.”

Construction on the global hotel brand’s first standalone residences in Miami is set to begin later this year, with an estimated delivery timeframe of 36 months. Sales and marketing duties are being exclusively handled by Douglas Elliman Development Marketing, a division of Douglas Elliman Realty. More

A Late Guitar Legend’s Former Beverly Hills House Can Be Yours for $3 Million

With the recent passing of Duane Eddy at age 86, there’s no better time to showcase this striking midcentury modern once called home by the electric guitar virtuoso widely known for his signature “twang” sound. The man who influenced rock strummers ranging from Jimi Hendrix to Bruce Springsteen occupied the residence for around six years, beginning in 1963, and the place just popped up for sale in a canyon high above Beverly Hills, asking a smidge under $3 million.

Last sold in the spring of 2021 for $1.8 million to local real estate agents Derek Devore and Marisa San Antonio, and then transferred last year to Zen Estates LLC, the home was completed in the early ’60s. Featured inside the creamy stucco and terracotta-roof structure are three bedrooms and a matching number of baths filtered across a little more than 2,400 square feet of single-level living space, all of it adorned throughout with a mix of tile and light hardwood floors, high vaulted ceilings, and walls of glass framing picturesque canyon views.

The formal dining area overlooks a living room that opens to an al fresco lounging deck.

    Jeff Ong/PostRAIN Productions

A staircase nestled alongside a gated driveway and an attached two-car garage leads up to the ebony-hued front door, which opens to a formal dining area overlooking a spacious living room sporting a massive white brick fireplace with a floating hearth and built-in firewood storage, plus sliding glass doors spilling out to one of several decks. An adjacent kitchen displays a skylight, sleek white cabinetry, newer stainless appliances, and an accompanying breakfast nook with access to the outdoors.

Elsewhere is a cozy family room, as well as a primary suite with its own deck and dual-vanity bath. Outdoors, the secluded grounds span almost one-third of an acre and host terraced gardens amid a lush tree canopy, along with an open-air cabana flanking a brick-lined pool surrounded by a grassy lawn.

A freeform pool sits next to an open-air cabana.

    Jeff Ong/PostRAIN Productions

Per the listing, which is held by Steve Frankel of Coldwell Banker Realty, plans have also been approved to convert the aforementioned garage into an accessory dwelling unit. And, lastly, the abode is also right down the street from the one-time home of Nancy Sinatra, which sold for $3 million in October.

Born in Corning, N.Y., Eddy started playing guitar at age 5 and went on to become a successful instrumental recording artist in the late ’50s and ’60s with hits like Forty Miles of Bad Road, Because They’re Young, and Cannonball. Along the way, the self-taught musician influenced numerous rock guitarists, including George Harrison, Jimi Hendrix, and Bruce Springsteen, the latter of whom paid homage to Eddy in Born to Run. Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1994, the same year his original hit recording of Rebel Rouser appeared in the movie Forrest Gump, he died on April 30 from complications of cancer.

Riley Keough’s Charming Tudor-Style Cottage in L.A. Just Hit the Market for $1.6 Million

Six years ago, Riley Keough doled out $1.3 million for a relatively humble yet charming Tudor-style cottage in the Atwater Village neighborhood of Los Angeles. Now the veteran actress—probably best known for her turn as Daisy in the 1970s-based rock series Daisy Jones & the Six, as well as her celeb-studded heritage as the eldest grandchild of Elvis and Priscilla Presley and daughter of Lisa Marie Presley—has decided to part ways with the place she and her Australian stuntman/actor husband Ben Smith-Petersen have owned since winter 2018, asking a speck under $1.6 million.

Described in the listing held by Todd Bachenheimer and Sherri Rogers of Compass as a “modern interpretation of a classic Tudor home,” the renovated 1920s dwelling features two bedrooms and an equal number of bathrooms in almost 1,200 square feet of living space, boasting hardwood floors throughout. A driveway is tucked off to the side of the dark-hued stucco and timber-accented structure, which is fronted by high hedges and a gated walkway that passes through a private courtyard before emptying out at an eye-catching entry door painted in an aquamarine shade.

A light-filled living room flows to the dining area.

    Sterling Reed

Once inside, a spacious living room rests beneath a coved ceiling and sports a built-in bench topped by a picture window, while an adjacent dining area connects to a kitchen outfitted with frosted-glass cabinetry, a subway tile backsplash, butcher block countertops, and newer appliances. Elsewhere is a primary bedroom hosting French doors spilling out to a semi-circular deck, dual closets, and a bath equipped with a custom vanity and soaking tub.

An attic has been transformed into a bonus space holding a built-in daybed, seating alcove and shelving. Rounding it all out are the serene fruit tree-laced grounds, which span less than a quarter-acre and come complete with the aforementioned standalone sauna, plus several spots ideal for al fresco lounging and entertaining. There’s also an attached garage with room for one vehicle on the premises.

In addition to a freestanding sauna, the backyard is primed for al fresco lounging and entertaining.

    Sterling Reed

A Santa Monica native, the 34-year-old fashion model-turned-actress made her feature film debut in 2010’s The Runaways alongside Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning. She’s since appeared in numerous TV shows and movies—The Good Doctor, Magic Mike, Mad Max: Fury Road, The House that Jack Built, Logan Lucky, American Honey, and The Girlfriend Experience, just to name a few.

Currently starring in the Hulu series Under the Bridge, Keough’s most well-known role was arguably as Daisy in Daisy Jones & the Six, which earned her Golden Globe and Emmy nominations. The co-proprietor of the Felix Culpa production company also became the sole owner of Elvis Presley Enterprises and the late performer’s iconic Graceland estate in Memphis after her mother’s death in 2023.

NBA Champ Leandro Barbosa Lists His Florida Home for $3.2 Million

In the 2015 NBA finals, Brazilian basketball player Leandro Barbosa scored an average of 5.2 points across six games to take home the championship title with the Golden State Warriors. Since then, the 6’3″ b-ball star and his growing family settled in Florida, where just about a year ago they bought a brand-new, custom-built Orlando-area home that, as Barbosa continues on as an assistant coach for the Sacramento Kings, is now up for grabs at $3.2 million.

Set within the guard-gated Bella Collina community in Montverde, the transitional-contemporary home has six bedrooms and five bathrooms, plus a powder room, spread out over 5,056 square feet of living space with interior fittings and finishes that draw influence from Brazil. The home is offered turnkey, with all its furniture, artwork, and high-end light fixtures that complement its clean-lined modern design. The ceilings are notably high, tall enough for Barbosa and the six-foot giants in your own friend group.

The stylish great room features exposed wood beams and an asymmetrical entertainment wall.

    Danilo Tavares/Corcoran

The home’s exterior comprises stucco walls and gable roofing, with its tall, tower-like entrance being its most distinctive feature. Inside the foyer, white marble floors and custom wooden accents speak to the most frequently used materials throughout the home, while the expansive, great room has a lounge oriented toward a TV at one end and a sculptural kitchen at the other, with a spacious dining area in between. A bank of glass sliders provides unobstructed views and a direct link to the backyard.

The light hue of the exposed wood beams that hover over the space matches the wood used for the kitchen cabinetry. A gas range, convection ovens, a Sub-Zero fridge, and an island snack bar complete the gourmet package. The nearby family has a linear fireplace that is flanked by built-in wine display cabinets. Sliding glass doors open to an expansive covered patio with a summer kitchen.

Huge windows in the primary bedroom fill the garden-view room with light.

    Danilo Tavares/Corcoran

A soaring ceiling and floor-to-ceiling windows that frame garden views are key elements of the primary suite, which is flushed with natural light. Smooth wood floors trail into the massive en-suite bath that features a steam shower and a freestanding soaking tub positioned in a dedicated niche below a picture window.

The backyard is where you’ll find amenities commissioned just for Barbosa, such as the heated pool and the half-court basketball court that features his initials. As for your coveted whips, you can park four of them in the two two-car garages. Danilo Tavares of Corcoran holds the listing.

This California Vineyard Estate Owned by a Former Super Bowl Champ Can Be Yours for $7 Million

A Paso Robles vineyard estate long owned by Terry and Jennifer Hoage has just popped up for sale. After a successful two-decade run, the couple have retired and closed the business; and now they’re offering the entire spread in the Willow Creek District for $7 million. The listing is held by Jenny Heinzen of Vineyard Professional Services.

Resting amid California’s Central Coast, halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco, the property housing the award-winning TH Estate Wines was previously known as Terry Hoage Wines. Records show the couple—he a former college and pro football player, and she an accomplished interior designer—paid $975,000 in summer 2002 for the 26-acre parcel, then subsequently began crafting Rhône varietals and Pinot Noir, having recently received their highest score of 98 points from Robert Parker Wine Advocate.

Until their recent retirement, Terry and Jennifer Hoage handled all aspects of processing Syrah grapes into high-end wines.

    Brandon Stier

Featured at the gated property is a three-bedroom, three-bath main home that serves as a licensed vacation rental, one-bedroom, one-bath guesthouse with its own living area and kitchenette, and 1,000-square-foot multi-purpose workshop and studio with personal temperature-controlled wine storage. There’s also a 17.5-acre vineyard, plus 3,000 square feet of commercial space encompassing main and private tasting rooms, a lab space, an office, barrel storage and wine-making areas.

As for the primary residence, the stucco and stacked-stone structure offers up a wealth of modern living space boasting rich Cumaru wood floors and a Lutron lighting system. Other standout features include a dining area and family room that connect on either side to a gourmet kitchen outfitted with custom cabinetry, white Macaubas quartzite countertops, a spacious eat-in island, top-tier Wolf appliances, a wine cooler and walk-in pantry.

Licensed as a vacation rental, the main house features three en-suite bedrooms.

    Triston Ioppini

Elsewhere is a primary bedroom featuring a walk-in closet and luxe bath; and outdoors, the picturesque grounds are laced with fruit and olive trees, and host a covered al fresco patio for sipping your favorite vintage alongside a fire-pit and barbecue area, heated saltwater pool and spa, bocce court and another fire-pit right next to a sustainable pond.

And though the original brand and business have been dissolved and aren’t included in the sale, the property does come with the opportunity for the new owners to lease out the winery, start a legacy of their own by renaming the winery and continuing to cultivate the land, or use the building for another hobby or purpose.

The winery operation is nestled alongside a fire-pit conversation area and sustainable pond.

    Triston Ioppini

“Knowing that a book is only so long, we are now planning for a new chapter in our book of life,” the Hoageses said of their retirement. “We are extremely blessed to have both had two successful careers participating in exciting and invigorating endeavors. We have been fortunate to receive good press from wine critics, wonderful support from the Paso Robles community and spectacular club members that helped propel us on this journey.”

The pair added that they hope the new owners “will have the great fortune that we experienced and be embraced by the community we have been deeply fortunate to be a part of the past 20 years.”

An Iowa native, Hoage began his football career in 1980 at the University of Georgia, where he became a two-time All-American, earned a National Championship ring and was later inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. After being drafted by the New Orleans Saints in ’84, he went on to spend 13 seasons in the NFL on six different teams, winning a Super Bowl with the Washington Redskins (now Commanders) before retiring from the sport in ’97.

The Most Expensive Home in The Bahamas Just Sold for a Record $40 Million

Aspara, an ultra-opulent oceanfront mansion in The Bahamas, just traded hands for a record $39.49 million. Located within the exclusive Old Fort Bay community, the palatial estate marks the priciest residential sale publicly promoted on the island, according to Matthew Marco of BOND Bahamas, who represented both sides of the deal.

“Apsara is truly a one-of-a-kind gem, not only in The Bahamas but also in the entirety of the Caribbean,” said Marco in a press statement. “Having a stunningly designed and constructed estate with both oceanfront and canalfront access points, all while being located in the coveted and private Old Fort Bay enclave, Apsara is nothing short of the highest standard of luxury living.”

The oceanfront estate known as Aspara just set a real estate sales record in the Bahamas.

    Courtesy of BOND Bahamas

The previous record was reportedly set in 2021 when country superstars Tim McGraw and Faith Hill offloaded their idyllic 20-acre private island, L’île d’Anges, aka Goat Cay, for a cool $35 million.

“Over the past few years, we’ve seen an uptick in high-profile, high-net-worth individuals looking for truly one-of-a-kind trophy residences across The Bahamas,” added Marco. “The sheer geographic constraints of the island only allow for so many waterfront residences like Apsara, making these exclusive Bahamian properties so coveted that their sale prices are now matching those of the largest U.S. markets.”

The original listing for Aspara touted its 150 feet of turquoise waterfront along with 150 feet of canal frontage, plus a private dock and boat lifts. The abode itself measures a whopping 14,000 square feet and features eight bedrooms and 10 full bathrooms.

A spacious loggia overlooks the swimming pool and ocean.

    Courtesy of BOND Bahamas

The posh pad has a contemporary flair to it with a slew of amenities, including a state-of-the-art fitness center, a steam room, an elevator, and an 876-bottle glass-enclosed wine cellar. There’s also a custom gourmet chef’s kitchen for indoor entertaining, as well as a sunken dining area for alfresco meals. The home wraps around a lush interior courtyard and is lined with walls of glass that open up to sunny terraces, sprawling loggias, and a massive infinity pool. From here, you can walk down to your own private sandy beach.

“The Bahamas truly has everything a high-net-worth individual would look for in a luxury beachside residence,” added Marco. “The warmth of the people, the sophisticated infrastructure, the banking capabilities, the tax incentives, the gracious privacy, the stable government, and, of course, the most beautiful natural landscape in the world, all make the Bahamas a smart investment.”
