    Benny Blanco Just Sold His Manhattan Bachelor Pad for $3.6 Million

    Benny Blanco has been quite busy as of late. The influential songwriter and producer got engaged to Selena Gomez and has been touring with his singer/actor/beauty entrepreneur fiancée in support of their newly released joint album, I Said I Love You First. On the real estate front, he also partnered with Gomez on the $35 million off-market purchase of a historic Wallace Neff-designed home in a prime pocket of Beverly Hills that was once owned by Hollywood director Todd Phillips.

    But now Blanco can take at least one thing off his fully loaded plate! After nearly a year on the market, he’s finally managed to offload his longtime New York City bachelor pad in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood, just minutes away from the highly popular, elevated High Line park.

    Originally offered for a speck under $4 million in May 2024 and later reduced to $3.75 million, the loft-style digs ultimately transferred to an unidentified buyer for $3.6 million, slightly less than he originally wanted but still $155,000 more than the $3.4 million he paid back in late 2011. The listing, which was first reported by Realtor.com, was shared by John Gomes, Jacqueline Wilde, and Fredrik Eklund of Douglas Elliman.

    Found on the sixth floor of Seventh Avenue’s 19-story Chelsea Mercantile building, which was built in the early 1900s and served as a mail-order house for The National Cloak and Suit Company, the three-bedroom, three-bath unit features 2,200 square feet of renovated living space filled with colorful artwork and bold accessories.

    A lengthy entry gallery leads to a combined living and dining area, which rests beneath an 11-foot ceiling and provides picturesque southeastern views via large windows wrapping its corner locale. An adjacent all-white kitchen sports a veined marble backsplash and countertops, plus an eat-in peninsula and top-tier Wolf and Sub-Zero stainless appliances.

    Tall white oak double doors open into the secluded primary suite, which is outfitted with a Poliform walk-in closet that flows to a black-tiled bath equipped with a dual-sink vanity, a walnut-clad soaking tub, and a shower. Two additional bedrooms include one that has its own bath and a workspace and another with a Murphy bed and built-in bookshelves that doubles as an office.

    The unit comes with a $1,819 monthly maintenance fee, which allows access to services and amenities like a 24-hour doorman and concierge, gym, landscaped rooftop deck, children’s playroom, conference area, garage parking, and a private storage unit.

    In addition to their new Beverly Hills home, Gomez still lays claim to a place in Encino that was previously owned by Tom Petty, while Blanco, who lost a beachfront home in Malibu earlier this year during the Palisades Fire, owns a Hollywood Hills estate that he bought in 2020 from Tinder founder Sean Rad for $9.9 million.

    Kanye West’s Former Malibu Home Sells for More Than $30 Million After Less Than a Week

    Well, that was fast.

    The concrete home in Malibu that Kanye West infamously abandoned is being sold for more than $30 million less than a week after hitting the market, The Wall Street Journal reported. The Tadao Ando–designed property is being snapped up by Andrew Mazzella, a luxury-home developer who works primarily in Montana.

    “California and L.A., specifically Malibu, is the highest level there is and I’ve always wanted to get to the highest level,” Mazzella told the WSJ. “This is me kicking down the door.”

    Some 1,200 tons of concrete were used to construct the beachfront home.

    The 4,000-square-foot home has a rather interesting history, to say the least. West threw down a whopping $57.3 million for the estate back in 2021, then completely gutted the place. Before he could complete the renovation, he stepped away from the project, eventually listing the mansion in 2023 and selling it to the crowdfunding company Belwood Investments for just $21 million, a massive loss even for a billionaire.

    Steven “Bo” Belmont, the owner of Belwood, began an $8.5 million renovation of the abode in the hopes of returning it to its original condition, The Wall Street Journal noted. But he also changed his mind and spun it back on the market just last week, with a price tag of $39 million. While the exact amount that Mazzella is paying isn’t yet public, Belmont told the newspaper that the contract price is between $30 million and $34 million, which Mazzella confirmed.

    The four-bedroom home measures in at 4,000 square feet.

    To fund the purchase, Mazella is raising money from third-party investors, the WSJ wrote. The developer is planning to move to Malibu for the rest of the year to see the renovations through, at which point he wants to once again place the home up for sale, this time for an eye-popping $55 million to $65 million. In the deal, Mazzella is being represented by Amanda Lynn at Nest Seekers International, while the Ando home was listed by Jason Oppenheim of the Oppenheim Group and Mauricio Umansky of the Agency.

    This brings the estate’s saga to an end—for now—but the home’s got a long way to go until it becomes an attractive prospect to someone who wants a move-in-ready property. When he was still the owner, West took out all the doors, windows, and interior finishes. In the past year, Belmont has made some improvements, including redoing the roof and installing new plumbing and electrical systems. Still, Mazzella has his work cut out for him.

    Rosie O’Donnell’s N.Y.C. Penthouse Sells at a Big Loss for $6.9 Million

    After two years on the market, Rosie O’Donnell has finally managed to offload her New York City penthouse in Midtown Manhattan’s Turtle Bay neighborhood.

    The lofty residence was first offered for $8.3 million in spring 2023, then subsequently relisted for nearly $8 million before disappearing from the market and resurfacing at a discounted $7.5 million in April 2024. Now the place is under contract to be sold for $6.9 million, a whopping $1.1 million less than the $8 million the comedian and talk show host paid back in 2017. Caroline Bass of Corcoran holds the listing.

    Resting on the top two floors of the 33-story Sterling Plaza Tower, a 127-unit development built in the mid-1980s, the duplex has four bedrooms and three baths in roughly 3,600 square feet. Renovated by the previous owner, the interiors still boast Russian wide-plank oak floors, a Guggenheim-inspired staircase, and automated smart-home systems. There’s also a spacious rooftop terrace with views of the Chrysler and Empire State buildings, as well as the East River.

    Among the highlights is a window-lined living area sporting a large honed black granite wood-burning fireplace. An adjacent dining room with a wet bar and built-in window seat connects to a sleek Boffi kitchen, which is outfitted with Corian countertops, an eat-in island, a wine fridge, and high-end Gaggenau and Miele appliances.

    The Boffi kitchen comes with an eat-in island and a wine refrigerator that holds 70 bottles.

    The private primary suite is decked out with six custom-designed closets, an additional walk-in closet, and a marble-clad bath with heated floors, dual vanities, a freestanding soaking tub, and a glass-encased steam shower. Elsewhere is a Swedish sauna for two. Rounding it all out is access to a 24-hour doorman and concierge courtesy of a $5,119 monthly maintenance charge.

    The Long Island-born actress, who has starred in Harriet the Spy, The Flintstones, and A League of Their Own, recently relocated to Ireland with her child Clay because of American politics, according to the New York Post, which first reported the sale. “Although I was never someone who thought I would move to another country, that’s what I decided would be best for myself and my 12-year-old child,” O’Donnell said in a TikTok video earlier this month. “And here we are.”

    Diane Keaton’s Pinterest-Inspired Home in L.A. Is Up for Grabs at $28.9 Million

    After nearly 14 years of ownership, Diane Keaton has decided to part ways with her Los Angeles digs in the horse-friendly Sullivan Canyon community on the border of Brentwood and Pacific Palisades. The Oscar-winning Annie Hall actress, interior design author, and prolific house flipper is asking $28.9 million for the sprawling residence, which sits right next door to a place owned by fellow Hollywood legend Ben Affleck. Andrew Gulyas of Destination Home holds the listing.

    Records show Keaton doled out $4.7 million for the property in 2011 and then set out to create her combination barn/factory dream home. Using the photo-sharing app Pinterest for inspiration, she enlisted architect David Takacs and designers Stephen Shadley, Cynthia Carlson, and Toben Windahl to convert an existing house into an all-new earthquake- and fire-resistant rustic-industrial structure that was completed in 2015. She later penned a book based on the project called The House That Pinterest Built.

    The main living area is spotlighted by a fireplace etched into a whitewashed brick wall stretching to the ceiling.

    Fully clad inside and out with 75,000 reclaimed clay bricks she handpicked and had shipped from Chicago and capped by a steel roof donning a silo, the eye-catching residence features five bedrooms and seven baths in roughly 9,200 square feet of living space on two levels adorned throughout with a mix of hardwood, brick, and stained concrete floors, French and sliding barn doors, and large steel-framed commercial windows for loads of natural light.

    Hollywood Hypenate Peter Horton’s Spanish-Style Home in L.A. Lists for $8 Million

    Many years after his run as literary professor Gary Shepherd on the Emmy-winning TV series thirtysomething made him a household name, Peter Horton doled out $2.6 million for a quintessential California Spanish home on the Westside of Los Angeles. Now the actor, who has since transitioned into directing and producing high-profile shows like Grey’s Anatomy and New Amsterdam, has decided to put the Santa Monica digs he has owned since 2002 up for sale, asking a smidge under $8 million. David Offer of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties holds the listing.

    Built and designed in the late 1990s by architect Bob Ramirez, the striking creamy stucco and terracotta-roof structure is tucked away behind hedges and gates, amid a corner parcel of land spanning less than a quarter of an acre. Inside, five bedrooms and six baths are spread across roughly 5,100 square feet of multi-level living space boasting a mix of hardwood and Saltillo tile floors, vaulted wood-beam ceilings, arched doorways, built-ins, and French doors in every room spilling out to multiple terraces and balconies.

    The living room is topped by an iron-railed loft that serves as a library.

    Ellen DeGeneres Just Sold a Midcentury Bungalow in Montecito for $5.2 Million

    Back in 2020, after they sold a Beverly Hills mansion to a San Francisco-based venture capitalist for a cool $45 million, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi went on a real estate buying spree in the Santa Barbara area. The former talk show host and actress snatched up a $49 million compound from comedian Dennis Miller, bought back a $14.3 million ranch they had previously owned from Tinder founder Sean Rad, and picked up a two-bedroom, two-bath 1950s bungalow just steps away from Montecito’s Butterfly Beach for $2.9 million, just to name a few of their purchases.

    The couple went on to flip the Miller pad for $55 million to an unidentified buyer and once again offloaded the historic Rancho San Leandro hacienda—it’s right next door to Oprah Winfrey’s Promised Land estate—to Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe in an off-market deal for $21 million. Now they’ve come full circle, selling the petite cottage in a bidding war for $5.2 million just days after they listed it for a speck under $5 million. Not only is that around $200,000 over the asking price, but it’s also $2.3 million more than they paid for the place a little more than four years ago.

    Tucked away at the end of a lengthy driveway shared with three other homes, amid a nearly half-acre parcel laced with palms, the single-level house was built in 1954 and offers about 1,700 square feet of glass-lined living space that has been extensively renovated through the years. With vaulted ceilings sporting whitewashed exposed beams throughout, the Bali-esque interiors are centered around an open-concept great room hosting a fireside living room, a dining area, and a sleekly designed kitchen outfitted with Portuguese limestone countertops and high-end stainless appliances.

    The property-mad pair, who have largely decamped to the U.K., are rumored to already be looking at a new and very modern house in the Cotswolds after they experienced issues with flooding and backlash from neighbors over construction work at an $18 million farmhouse they first moved into last year. Back in the U.S., they still lay claim to at least two Montecito homes: a $32 million Roman-style estate known as Pompeiian Court that the two repurchased last year as part of a property swap deal with billionaire mining magnate Robert Friedland, as well as another smaller house nearby.

    The just-sold listing was held by Riskin Partners Estate Group of Village Properties/Forbes Global Properties; Mark Bacino of Keller Williams Realty repped the buyer.
