      Home of the Week: Derek Jeter’s Tampa Mansion, Currently Rented by Tom Brady, Just Listed for $29 Million

      There’s no eviction notice yet, but if baseball legend Derek Jeter finds a buyer for his sprawling waterfront mansion in Tampa, Fla. any time soon, his tenants may be rushing to find new digs.
      Which is slightly awkward when your renters are Tom Brady and his supermodel wife, Gisele Bündchen.
      The Bradys moved into Jeter’s almost 22,000-square-foot estate in April, after the former New England Patriots star inked a two-year, $50-million deal to play quarterback with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

      The good news is that the “For Sale” signs going up in the front yard won’t be a too much of a shock to the renters.
      “Tom and Derek negotiated terms in the lease agreement so we could list, market and, obviously with proper notice, show the property,” listing agent Stephen Gay, of Tampa-based realtors Smith & Associates told Robb Report.
      And no, the Bradys haven’t shown any interest in buying the compound, which according to Gay, is “the most impressive home to ever hit the market in the Tampa Bay area.”

      Jeter’s company Kered Connors LLC reportedly paid a total of $7.7 million to acquire three adjoining waterfront lots on Tampa’s Davis Islands between 2005 and 2006. The roughly 1.3-mile, man-made island is minutes from downtown Tampa and is one of the city’s prime residential neighborhoods.
      Jeter spent four years constructing the huge, custom-built home on the 1.25-acre lot—by far the biggest on Davis Islands—completing the project in 2011.
      “The attention to detail, the quality of the finishes, the materials used in the construction are just exceptional. Really, no expense was spared in building this home,” says Gay.

      The construction wasn’t without its controversy. Jeter fought for, and won, permission to build an eight-foot privacy fence around the property—six-feet is the norm—earning it the nickname among locals as “The Great Wall of Jeter.”
      Built from hand-carved, gray Connecticut granite and limestone, the two-story main house features seven bedrooms, eight full bathrooms and eight half-baths.

      Imposing hardwood doors lead into the vast, open foyer with 24-foot-high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows offering stunning, west-facing views across Tampa’s Hillsborough Bay. Everywhere you look are high-end finishes and fine detailing; from hand-polished Venetian plaster, solid hardwood millwork and marble mosaic tiles, to tailored silk drapes.

      Directly off the “grand salon” foyer is the expansive clubroom with its full-service bar, billiards table and multiple TVs. The room’s glass corner wall slides open and leads out on to the huge, 9,000-square-foot, made-for-entertaining waterfront patio with its 80-foot, saltwater lap pool and large outdoor kitchen.

      The home’s gourmet kitchen was also designed with large-scale, professionally-catered gatherings in mind. It comes with two huge Sub-Zero fridges, a Wolf range, four dishwashers, a walk-in pantry, a butler’s pantry, and two marble-topped islands.
      Upstairs, the master suite features a spa-like bath with a truly enormous steam shower, dual walk-in custom closets and a bedroom complete with fireplace and balcony with views over the water.

      Other special features of the home include a wine cellar, a wood-paneled office, movie theater and a professional-grade gym (naturally), plus a guest suite and au pair wing. Outside, two air-conditioned garages can accommodate up to six cars.
      According to Gay, one of the estate’s selling points is its 345 feet of open bay frontage, a rarity, along with a deep-water dock and two boat lifts.

      One of the reasons the Bradys might not be stepping up to buy the property is that proximity to the water. Shortly after moving in, Brady told Howard Stern on Sirius XM that he was not happy at the number of boaters constantly circling around outside, hoping to catch a glimpse of the power couple.
      The Bradys put their former Massachusetts home on the market in 2019. 
      As for Jeter and his wife Hannah, home is currently a 19-floor 5,200-square-foot palace-in-the-sky at the new Grove at Grand Bay skyscraper in Miami. The couple moved there following Jeter’s purchase of the Miami Marlins Major League Baseball team in 2017. He’s currently CEO and co-owner.

      As for the Tampa home, Stephen Gay says there’s already been considerable interest. “We’ve had a ton of calls, but I suspect many are fans of the Bradys who just want to get a look inside.”

      Inside a Pink Waterfront Mansion in Miami That Looks Like a Fairytale Castle

      Marrying Millions star Bill Hutchinson has just listed his six-bedroom, seven-bath mansion in Miami’s Coconut Grove for $8.25 million. The mansion really does look like a castle with its soaring, 30-foot ceilings, spacious great hall and unique architectural details, such as Romeo and Juliet-worthy stone terraces and balconies. Maybe it’s no accident that Hutchinson bought it in the first place, as the youngest of his six children is named King.

      The home has 65 feet of water frontage and its own private dock as well as a keystone-edged infinity pool overlooking the channel.

      Inside, the 12,800-square-foot pink palace seems like both castle and cathedral with its gothic touches, such as carved archways and columned passages, as well as those massive stained glass windows in the great hall and one of the bedrooms. Some of the grand and quirky (for Miami, at least) details include stone fireplaces, antique stained-glass windows, French cast bronze chandeliers, cast stone window tracery and Jerusalem stone floors.
      While many of the details take their inspiration from prior centuries, the home’s interior style is comfortably modern.
      The huge chef’s kitchen includes a La Cornue stove and range—and massive blue hood. The master suite is vast, with an equally impressive ensuite bathroom with its soaking tub. An there’s an elevator that takes you up to the rooftop sundeck, if you don’t feel like lounging at the pool down below or want to catch the best sunset views.

      The 62-year-old Lifetime star bought the home in 2016 and is selling it to move back to Dallas with his 22-year-old girlfriend and costar, Brianna Ramirez and his family, where his children are enrolled in school and where his real estate business is headquartered.
      The Miami manse, built in 2009 and located at 1840 S. Bayshore Lane, is listed with Chad Carroll and Matthew Dugow of Compass. LeBron James owns a home on nearby on Crystal View Court.

      Home of the Week: Inside Chrissy Teigen and John Legend’s $24 Million Beverly Hills Home

      Power couple Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have listed their 8,250-square-foot Beverly Hills mansion for $23.95 million. The 41-year-old Oscar-winning singer and his 34-year-old model-turned-cookbook-author wife, bought the home—formerly owned by singer Rihanna and originally built in the mid-1960s—in 2016, paying a reported $14.1 million.

      They called in their long-time interiors guru Don Stewart, of LA-based Desiderata Design to transform the stark-white interior to a warmer look, better-suited to their growing family. The couple will welcome their third child next spring.

      Top of the list for the makeover was a state-of-the-art, professional-grade kitchen to help with Teigen’s cooking videos and culinary creations. It includes no fewer than three ovens, two stovetops, twin refrigerators and miles of Italian quartz countertops. Fans of the former Sports Illustrated model’s Instagram posts will likely recognize the kitchen from its appearance in her cooking videos.
      The other major upgrade? Closets. Huge, Rodeo-Drive-worthy closets for both Teigen’s and Legend’s high-fashion duds. Teigen’s closet—she calls it the “glam room”—features walls of glass-fronted wardrobes and plentiful shelving for her handbag and shoe collections.
      The house’s special finishes include some dramatic ceiling, wall and floor treatments. In the living room mandala-patterned designs from Thailand decorate the ceiling, the floor is made of ebonized cerused oak and a clay-and-steel-rolled effect highlights the walls.
      Steps away in the formal dining room, the ceilings are adorned with delicate plaster moldings with rich, coppery, hand-rubbed finishes on the massive sliding partition doors.

      Naturally the main living area features a grand piano, set alongside shelves showcasing Legend’s numerous awards—he’s the youngest entertainer to have achieved the elusive EGOT, short for Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony, for his remarkable catalog of music that ranges from his songs “Ordinary People,” “All of Me” and “Green Light” to “Glory” from the film Selma.
      All seven bedrooms are ensuite and have glass-edged balconies, with the sprawling master featuring high ceilings, along with a striking fireplace and jaw-dropping, distressed-gold-finished chimney front. In the master bath there’s a free-standing stone tub in front of a large picture window.

      The home also includes a well-equipped gym and cozy movie theater with a popcorn machine and impressive stock of candy jars. The Legend kids are Luna 2, and Miles, 1.
      Outside there’s an expansive deck with stunning canyon views. Here you’ll find a heated saltwater pool, jacuzzi, chef’s kitchen and wood-fired pizza oven. Close by is a grapevine-wrapped, shaded pergola for al fresco dining.

      As to the identity of the buyer: “Wild horses couldn’t pull that out of me,” says listing agent Marshall Peck, of Douglas Elliman Beverly Hills, who brokered the deal.
      And no, he wasn’t at all surprised the seven-bedroom, eight bathroom property close to Laurel Canyon and just south of Mulholland Drive, went to contract so quickly.
      “It’s a truly spectacular property. We were having showings almost every day. It has the most exquisite, high-end finishes of any home I’ve ever seen. Add to that the location, the views, the 33-foot high ceilings. It’s all just spectacular,” adds Peck.

      According to TopTenRealEstateDeals.com which showcases the home, the family is now on the hunt for a bigger property in the LA area.
      In the meantime, there’s plenty of room at the couple’s $9 million, 2,600-square-foot duplex penthouse in the landmark Brewster Carriage House in New York’s NoLIta neighborhood. They bought it in 2018.
      With maybe an eye to the future, in April this year they splashed another $7.7 million for the 3,500-square-foot, three-floor penthouse right next door in the same building. Expect the sound of jack hammers soon.

      Superman Moves On: Shaq Lists His 31,000-Square-Foot Florida Mansion for $19.5 Million

      Outsized NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal has put his gargantuan mega-mansion just outside Orlando, Fla., along the reedy shore of Lake Butler inside the guarded gates of the prestigious Isleworth Golf & Country Club, on the market at $19.5 million, an elephantine number by any standard but a fortune less than the Panglossian $28 million asking price the four-acre estate was saddled with when he first attempted to sell it a couple years ago.

      Now a sports analyst for TNT’s “Inside the NBA,” the retired 7’1” Hall of Fame center bought the property in 1993 for $4 million and transformed what was a Neocolonial villa of around 23,000 square feet into an epic, ultra-custom extravaganza of 31,000 square feet. In addition to the 12 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms plus four powder rooms, the supersized home offers all the usual high-end touches and amenities, plus a cigar bar with walk-in humidor, a soundproofed theater and an Egyptian-themed room with a triangular saltwater fish tank at its center. There’s garage parking for 17 or more cars and, natch, a 6,000-square-foot indoor basketball court. One of the several family rooms features the front section of a big rig truck with the word “Diesel,” one of the basketballer’s many nicknames, painted across the bumper. The oversize circular bed in the nearly 1,000-square-foot master suite is emblazoned with the Superman logo. Outside, there’s a 15-foot-deep and 95-foot-long swimming pool along with a tiki cabana, an outdoor kitchen—and 700 feet of lake frontage with a private, two-slip boat dock.

      Shaq’s other residential holdings include a not quite 15-acre semirural suburban estate about 30 miles outside of downtown Atlanta that he scooped up in 2017 for $1.15 million. And, in 2018, he dropped just over $1.8 million for a 5,200-square-foot home in suburban L.A.’s guard-gated Bell Canyon community—a residence that’s on the market at close to $2.3 million after it initially came for sale late last year at $2.5 million.       Priscilla Presley’s Beverly Hills Villa Hits the Market for $16 Million

      When Priscilla Presley’s posh Beverly Hills mansion was last officially listed on the market 45 years ago, her mega-famous ex-husband Elvis Presley was still alive and Gerald Ford had taken over the US presidency from Richard Nixon. Time changes all things, however, and even the good times eventually stop rolling. The storybook seven-bedroom, eight-and-a-half-bathroom villa, spanning just over 8,500 square feet, is now on the market for not quite $16 million. Property records do not show exactly when the now 75-year-old pop culture icon bought the property or how much she paid, but it was not anytime within this millennium.
      Built in 1951 and nestled securely behind imposing gates on just over an acre in a plum part of the 90210, the sprawling, vine-covered villa enjoys a cozy serenity thanks to intricately landscaped gardens and lush vegetation that ensures privacy. The opulent old-world decor is replete with dark, wood beams and archways, ornate stone fireplaces, rich brocades and patterned fabrics-a-plenty. In one of the formal sitting rooms a baby grand piano sits in a corner alcove below a crystal chandelier, a leaded-glass window filling the space with dewy natural light. Velvet curtains hung from an ornate wrought iron valance provide privacy for a dining table while the plushly appointed den is wrapped in dark wood paneling with French doors to the gardens and a fireplace surround that evokes a baronial formal aesthetic.       Last year Presley sold a ranch style home  in L.A.’s Brentwood for $3.8 million, earning an exponential profit on the $170,000 paid for the property way back in 1976, three years after she and Elvis were divorced.       Matthew Perry’s Malibu Beach House Hits the Market for $15 Million

      Matthew Perry spent at least some his Covid-19 lockdown ensconced in the easy-going luxury of his Malibu, Calif., beach house that’s just popped up for sale at $14.95 million. The former Friends star and four-time Emmy nominee, who last appeared on television as Ted Kennedy in the award-winning miniseries The Kennedys After Camelot, surreptitiously purchased the beachfront property in a 2011 off-market deal valued at exactly $12 million.
      Boxy and unassuming from the street, the roughly 5,500-square-foot contemporary home sits on a dry stretch of sand along one of Malibu’s most prestigious streets, and listings held by “Million Dollar Listing” star Josh Flagg of Rodeo Realty and his fashion model turned real estate agent husband Bobby Boyd, also of Rodeo Realty, show the two-story house four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms.
      A secured entry gate opens to a covered outdoor corridor that winds around to a glass front door that swings opens to a spacious foyer dominated by a muscular, open-tread steel-and-wood floating staircase. Warm wood floors and an open-beam exposed wood ceiling unify the vast, loft-like living and entertaining areas that orbit around a freestanding central fireplace and spill own through vast banks of floor-to-ceiling windows a deep deck that wraps around three sides of the house like a ship. The living room is plenty large enough to accommodate a designer Ping Pong table, while the galley kitchen, completely open to the dining and living areas, features custom cabinets and top-end commercial-style appliances.

      At least one of the three secondary bedrooms has direct access to a private bathroom, and the expansive, ocean- and coastline-view master suite spans the full width of the house with a private sitting room, an over-sized dressing room lined with bespoke wooden wardrobes and a simply designed deluxe bathroom. As in the downstairs living and dining area, gigantic floor-to-ceiling windows slide open to a slim private balcony with meditative horizon views over the ocean. A sizable professional screening room seats eight or ten people on deep-cushioned sofas, and, just outside the front door in a small courtyard that’s been effectively privatized with opaque screening, a small spa is set into exotic wood decking.
      Perry seems increasingly eager to lighten his expensive-to-maintain real estate burdens. (Records show combined property taxes for his two Los Angeles properties exceed $400,000 per year.) Just over three years ago he plunked down $20 million for a sprawling, mansion-sized condo in a super-luxury tower in L.A.’s Century City that he put up for sale just over a year ago amid much publicity and tongue-wagging with a far-too-optimistic $35 million price that was, just a couple of weeks ago, slashed by more than 20 percent to $27 million.       Inside an Ultra-Private, $22 Million Miami Mansion That Cher Once Called Home

      Do you believe in life after listing?
      There’s reason enough to believe that Cher herself thinks so, as the singer has had no trouble moving on from her former Miami pad, which has just hit the market for $22 million. The Goddess of Pop originally bought the mansion for $1.5 million in 1993. A smart investment, as she sold it for $4.3 million just three years later.
      And while Cher herself hasn’t lived in the place for over 20 years now, it’s only been expanded since—hence the loftier price tag. The property is now 11,460 square feet, with six beds and seven baths. Architecture here is in the Spanish Colonial style, a familiar and fitting look for Miami Beach—the interiors are by renowned French design firm Liaigre.

      Inside, the double-height entryway and dual staircases offer a grand welcome. Arches and columns lend a stately feel to the space, and large windows that look out to the water blend elements of the indoors and outdoors.

      Since it’s located on the gated La Gorce Island, the home offers the kind of privacy you’d expect for a pop queen—it even has its own dock, plus 158 feet of water frontage. Also, outside is a pool and adjacent pool house, as well as a separate guest house for visitors. Multiple courtyards and fountains make the rest of the property feel like the proper estate that it is.

      As for Cher, well, some of her old digs have fared better on the market than others. The Owlwood Estate, which she once called home, has changed hands multiple times since she originally sold it and is currently on the market for a whopping $115 million. Meanwhile, an old Beverly Hills property of hers has had less luck: While it’s also been bought and sold plenty since her residency, it languished on the market, having originally listed for $85 million before it was chopped down to $48 million.

      Inside Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s New $14.7 Million Montecito Compound

      Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have gone exceptionally grand with their California starter house, purchasing a $14.65 million estate in the heart of posh Montecito, the seaside Santa Barbara County enclave that is famously home to a slew of Hollywood heavyweights.
      The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’ names do not appear on grant deeds related to the property—records show the estate quietly sold in mid-June to a mysterious trust with a deliberately opaque name, though the trust happens to share a mailing address with the offices of Meghan Markle’s longtime Hollywood business manager.

      Public documents also reveal the buyers secured a $9.5 million mortgage to acquire the 7.4-acre compound, which is securely tucked away on a private, gated street. Despite the unquestionably hefty price tag, it could be argued Meghan and Harry scored the property at a discount of sorts—the seller, low-profile Russian businessman Sergey Grishin, acquired the estate in 2009 for $25.3 million and had attempted to sell it many times over the past decade before finally accepting a $10 million-plus financial loss.

      Built in 2003, the Mediterranean-style main house includes a trove of beige and off-white decor, plus a library, gym, separate wet and dry saunas, an elevator, arcade, game room and home theater. There’s also a detached guesthouse with two bedrooms and bathrooms; altogether, the estate boasts nearly 19,000 square feet of living space with a total of 9 bedrooms and a whopping 16 bathrooms.
      Dated listings note that the property additionally offers a “tea house,” a “children’s cottage,” and exceptionally beautiful manicured grounds that boast tiered rose gardens, century-old olive trees, and tall Italian cypress trees that likely cost a small fortune to maintain. A full-size tennis court, lap-lane swimming pool, and a notably elaborate built-in children’s playset are among the numerous other outdoor amenities.
      Meghan and Harry, who first moved stateside in early 2020, previously resided in a fortified compound owned by Tyler Perry, whom they met through mutual friend Oprah Winfrey.
      Montecito may be located a full two hours northwest of downtown L.A. by car, but celebrities have flocked to the area in recent years—the neighborhood’s laid-back and mostly paparazzi-free atmosphere provides a welcome retreat from the hectic hustle of Hollywood and its surrounding environs.
