    Ronda Rousey’s Cozy L.A. Bungalow Is Up for Grabs at $1.8 Million

    Not only has Ronda Rousey apparently shut the door on her successful sports career, but she’s also decided to relinquish ownership of her longtime Los Angeles home. Records show the retired UFC and WWE star—who now owns two California and Oregon ranch properties known collectively as Browsey Acres, where she rears Wagyu beef and pasture-raised chicken alongside her ex-UFC competitor husband Travis Browne—has pinned a nearly $1.9 million price tag on a cozy residence tucked away in the oceanside community of Venice Beach, just a block away from the boardwalk. The listing is held by Christina Thomas of Goat & Dime.

    Records show Rousey paid $1.4 million for the two-bedroom, one-bath bungalow a little over a decade ago, back in spring 2014. Originally built in the early 1900s but renovated in the years since, the space-savvy abode features almost 870 square feet boasting wide-plank hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings, built-ins, and “unexpected” lofts throughout.

    The clapboard-sided structure is fronted by a set of steps that leads up to a bright red entry door. From there, the main light-filled living area is adorned with a black fireplace stretching to the ceiling and a ladder that heads to a lounging loft lined with built-in bookshelves. There’s also a dining nook, as well as a galley-style kitchen sporting quartz countertops, a subway tile backsplash, a breakfast bar, and stainless appliances.

    One of the two bedrooms has a bay window offering views of an adjacent park and the other includes ample closets and a sleeping loft, with both accessible to a turquoise glass-tiled bath equipped with a combination tub and shower. Elsewhere is a multi-level outdoor space featuring a seating area, a built-in barbecue, a hot tub, and a shower, along with an attached one-car garage that could easily be transformed into an office or a gym.

    A private al fresco deck is ideal for lounging and entertaining.

    Rousey, 37, first gained notoriety as a bronze medalist in judo at the 2008 Summer Olympics in China and went on to join the mixed martial arts league, where she became the first UFC women’s bantamweight champion and was named to the UFC Hall of Fame. She later transitioned into pro wrestling and then stepped away from the ring indefinitely in 2023. Also a film and TV actress, she’s appeared in The Expendables 3, Furious 7, Mile 22, Entourage, and 9-1-1. Most recently, she released her first graphic novel, Expect the Unexpected, about a deadly hit woman who has a fake baby bump filled with guns and goes by the code name “Mom.”

      Seann William Scott Is Selling His Custom-Built L.A. Compound for $5 Million

      Bye, bye, Mr. American Pie. Seann William Scott, best known for playing Steven Stifler in the 1999 coming-of-age film starring Jason Biggs, is parting ways with his California home.  

      The actor’s Venice compound recently hit the market for just shy of $5 million and includes a historic, 1.300-square-foot bungalow and a glass-and-steel house behind it. Altogether, the two abodes offer five bedrooms, six bathrooms, and 4,600 square feet of living space. According to Bloomberg, who first reported on the listing, Scott bought the 5,148-square-foot lot back in 2017 after relocating from New York. At the time, he paid $2.2 million for the spread but admitted he planned on flipping the property for a profit.  

      “I don’t think people who know my work would imagine I’m an architectural design nerd,” Scott told the media site. “But I am.” The lengthy renovation took about six years to complete. The Dude, Where’s My Car? star had the idea to combine the two buildings and collabed with his wife and interior designer, Olivia Scott, on the project. The remodel included taking the bungalow downs to the studs while the other glassy structure was already “bare bones,” Scott told Bloomberg.

      The smaller of the two dwellings had some catching up to do in the aesthetics department. The overall vibe here is chic and minimalist with lots of natural, organic materials. The one-story bungalow has earthy tile floors throughout and the kitchen is clad in Caesarstone and warm wood. Elsewhere, you’ll find two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a dining room that leads to a covered deck. “We kept the footprint of the place, but it was basically a new building,” Scott told Bloomberg. 

      On the other hand, the glass-and-concrete loft has three bedrooms and four bathrooms spread across three levels. Designed by architect Kevin Mulcahy, highlights of the home are its accordion glass doors on the ground floor, a double-height entertainment area, and a second kitchen that’s kitted out with floating marble shelves, wood paneling, and original steel beams.

      Scott, who will play a disgraced cop in the upcoming movie Bad Man, is proud of all the work that’s gone into revamping the property. However, he admittedly has his doubts about handing the home to its next owner. “This place is so cool, and I love Venice so much. Am I making a mistake selling it?”

      A Wellness Guru Goes the Extra Mile to Sell Her Zen L.A. House

      When Rainbeau Mars’s Venice home first popped up for sale back in September, she decided to up her sales game. Beyond the typical staging and landscaping, the Los Angeles-based actress, author and wellness expert furnished the place with crystals designed to enhance prosperity, gave it a blessing and cleansing at the hands of an Incan priestess, hosted parties for countless social influencers and even showcased the abode in a hip-hop-inspired marketing video.

      Most recently, with no takers after more than 100 days on the market, she’s enlisted local skateboarder-turned-real estate agent Solo Scott of Compass to relist the modern architectural-style property at a newly reduced price of $3.8 million; and though that’s $400,000 less than the original ask, it’s still around $1 million over what Mars, who was formerly married to prominent Hollywood business manager Michael Karlin, paid for the house back in late 2018.

      Built in 2017, the boxy white and gray structure rests on a gated parcel spanning less than a quarter-acre of land, just steps from Abbot Kinney Boulevard, and has five bedrooms and an equal number of baths in a little more than 3,200 square feet of two-level living space boasting wide-plank hardwood floors and high ceilings throughout, plus a Sonos sound system.

      On the main level, a spacious great room is highlighted by floor-to-ceiling glass doors spilling out to a newly refinished wood deck sporting a barbecue setup and fire-pit. Back inside, the living room has a linear fireplace, and an adjoining dining area connects to a galley-style kitchen outfitted with custom cabinetry, quartz countertops, an eat-in island, a dehydrator and Sub-Zero refrigerator. Elsewhere is a bedroom with its own walk-in closet and full bath.

      Four more en-suite bedrooms upstairs include a fireside master retreat that comes complete with a private balcony, walk-in closet, and spa-like bath displaying dual vanities, a freestanding soaking tub and glass-encased shower; and per the listing, another one has been converted into a professional soundproof recording studio that’s been used by top musicians, producers and podcasters.

      Especially standing out are the leafy grounds, which host a peaceful sitting area, custom-built compost station, an edible garden, and honeybee and butterfly sanctuaries. There’s also an attached two-car garage on the premises that could easily serve as a gym or an office space.

      In addition to the aforementioned endeavors Mars already has undertaken to try and make her oasis known as “Lighthouse Studios” more attractive to prospective buyers, she’s also considering adding a lap pool and is entertaining rental offers at $25,555 per month.

      “In Eastern medicine, your home is your health,” she says. “Every point coordinates to a point in your body and every room affects you. Painstaking efforts were taken to enhance the vibration.”
