Druids Glen on the market for €45m

Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort in Co Wicklow has been put up for sale with a guide price of €45m.

The venue, which hosted the Irish Open between 1996 and 1999, comprises a 145-bedroom hotel and a 349-acre estate with two 18-hole championship golf courses.

Estate agent Savills is handling the sale.

The hotel at Druids Glen opened in 2002 as a Marriott resort and was fully refurbished in the past four years.

Edward Stephenson, Chief Executive of Druids Glen Hotel and Golf Resort, said, “The Druids Glen Resort has grown year on year and has become one of Ireland’s key destination resorts.  Situated in close proximity to Dublin, it caters for over 130,000 visitors, both domestic and international, every year.”

Tom Barrett, Director, Hotels & Leisure at Savills Ireland, said the resort is one of the jewels in Irish hospitality.
