    Miami Heat’s Tyler Herro Just Set a Real Estate Record With His New $10.5 Million South Florida Mansion

    Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro rang in 2023 like any rising star athlete—with a game-winning buzzer-beater and a new house.  

    Late last month, the 22-year-old NBA player scooped up a South Florida mansion and set a new real estate record in the process, reported The Real Deal. Herro dropped $10.5 million on a massive estate in Miami-Dade County’s affluent Pinecrest neighborhood, where only eight other properties have been sold for $8 million and above. (Although, the original asking price for his Balinese-inspired abode was $11.9 million.) Measuring a whopping 9,505 square feet, the guard’s residence includes eight bedrooms, eight and a half bathrooms. While you won’t find any waterfront views, rest assured a glorious tropical garden serves as the backdrop instead.

    “Pinecrest is an incredibly desirable destination for luxury home buyers, and this home is truly the area’s crown jewel,” said Josie Wang of Brown Harris Stevens Miami, who represented the sellers, in a press statement. “The location offers proximity to Miami’s finest attractions, including marinas, top schools, dining, shopping and parks. The home is unrivaled in its design, craftsmanship and custom, top-of-the-line finishes from lighting to millwork.” 

    Completed in 2021, the glass-walled manse is sited on a roughly one-acre lot and was first purchased for a modest $5.3 million while it was still being built. Considering the property has now sold for close to double that amount, Herro will have his choice of swanky amenities to enjoy—everything from a wine cellar and gourmet chef’s kitchen to a spacious media room. Elsewhere, the modern home gets its high-end look thanks to walls of floor-to-ceiling glass and globally sourced materials, including natural marble, stone and wood that have been imported from Brazil and Italy. 

    Herro’s new home has eight bedrooms, eight-and-a-half bathrooms and Balinese-inspired architecture.

    Naturally, indoor/outdoor living comes with the territory. Out back, the grounds take cues from the South Pacific as well with lush landscaping and local flora. At the center is a large swimming pool, surrounded by additional water features as well as a patio and a cabana. If and when Herro decides to play host at his new digs, the summer kitchen should come in clutch—something the baller knows a thing or two about.

      Trae Young’s New $20 Million LA Mansion Comes With a Safe Room and 800-Gallon Fish Tank

      An NFL all-pro has handed his home over to an NBA all-star.

      Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young has bought the Los Angeles-area mansion built by the former Green Bay Packer great Clay Matthews, according to new reporting from The Wall Street Journal. Previously, the buyer had been unknown, but thanks to property records and people familiar with the deal, the Journal was able to find out that Young is the anonymous new homeowner.

      The 14,000-square-foot Calabasas mansion was built by Matthews and his wife in the French Provincial style. The couple had initially planned for it to be their “forever home,” but they reconsidered their plans once Matthews was released by the Los Angeles Rams. Now Young gets to enjoy the (very plentiful) fruits of their labor.

      Along with its seven bedroom and all the usual accoutrements, the property has a host of amazing amenities. There’s a home theater, a wine cellar and a wood-paneled game room with a billiards table. On the more unusual side, a secret door in the library leads to a safe room and one of the walls features an 800-gallon saltwater aquarium (Matthews had originally wanted it to take up the whole wall, but he downsized at his wife’s request). A spokesperson for the listing told The Wall Street Journal in 2021, when the home was first listed, that the couple would consider parting with the fish along with the property. It wasn’t revealed whether Young had taken them up on the offer.

      To full take advantage of LA weather, the outside of the house also includes some pretty incredible additions. Of course, given the athlete ownership, there’s a sports court, but there’s also a large pool, a goldfish pond, a rose garden, an orchard, a fire pit and a pergola. That gives you plenty of options for unwinding after a long workout or some time spent shooting hoops.

      The Matthewses purchased the land for the home for only $2.6 million in 2013. When they first listed the property, they were asking a cool $30 mil, but the price dropped a couple of times before Young bought it for $20 million. Given the fact that the baller currently plays for the Atlanta Hawks, it’s unclear whether this will be his forever home either. But it appears he has a new off-season abode.

      Russell Westbrook’s Brentwood Estate Just Hit the Market for $30 Million—Here’s a Look Inside

      Russell Westbrook is on the move, and his Brentwood home is for the taking.  

      The point guard for the Los Angeles Lakers just put his 13,425-square-foot estate on the market causing many fans to question his fate with the team. His six-bedroom, eight-bathroom mansion is set on roughly half an acre and was built in 2018, the same year in which he acquired it. Although, that didn’t stop the nine-time All-Star from adding a number of custom touches. To be honest, we wouldn’t expect anything less considering Westbrook is known for curating his own eye-catching fits. Along with designer finishes, it features hardwood flooring, custom moldings, French doors and high ceilings throughout.  

      The formal entry opens up to the spacious living and dining rooms which feel bright and airy thanks to expansive windows. Nearby is a large chef’s kitchen that showcases imported marble slabs and overlooks the rear grounds. Elsewhere there are two family rooms and conveniently, each comes with its own wet bar. On that note, the house hosts additional amenities including a walk-in temperature-controlled wine room, a movie theater, a gym and a guest room—all of which can be found on the lower level.

      The top floor is where the primary suite is located, decked out with a vaulted wood-paneled ceiling, a private patio and two separate walk-in closets. Definitely enough space to accommodate Westbrook’s extensive wardrobe and then some. There are also dual marble-clad bathrooms, connected by an oversized glass shower. Down below, the landscaped grounds are fit for any athlete whether you want to shoot some hoops on the patio, do a couple of laps in the pool or kick a few soccer balls around.

      While Westbrook’s newly listed residence could suggest that a potential trade is in the works (it’s certainly possible), it could also just be a smart real estate play. If the California estate sells at its asking price—a hefty $29.9 million—the NBA star stands to earn at least $10 million from the transaction. For context, Westbrook bought the home for $19.75 million back in 2018 and has invested in several properties since as a source of off-court income. 

      The highest-paid LA Laker for the 2022-23 season could simply be looking to swap his manse for an even pricier pad. We’ll be on standby until then.

      NBA Star Carmelo Anthony’s Revamped NYC Condo Just Hit the Market for $12.5 Million

      NBA All-Star Carmelo Anthony just re-listed his slam dunk of a Manhattan condo.

      The nearly 5,000-square-foot Chelsea residence was originally listed by the pro basketballer pre-pandemic in 2020 for $12.5 million. Though it returns to market with the same asking price, the full-floor abode has been treated to an extensive renovation and is ready for a new owner.

      The five-bedroom, four-bathroom home sits next to New York City’s famous High Line in a 10-story complex on 24th Street. The secluded sanctuary is accessed via two private elevators, which take you to the north and south wings, respectively. Inside, the home features premium designer furnishings, 10-foot ceilings, white oak floors and wide gallery-like walls to house your collection.

      Located in the south wing of the home, the living room offers treetop views of the High Line and plenty of room for relaxation.       LeBron James Just Unloaded One of His 3 LA Mansions for $19.6 Million

      After first bouncing onto the market with a $20.5 million asking price about six months ago, LeBron James has officially sold his Brentwood Park mansion, one of two Brentwood estates he owns. Records reveal the property, which hasn’t been occupied by the NBA superstar for several years, went for $19.6 million in an off-market deal to Hon “Alexander” Shing, founder of the privately-held, LA-based real estate investment firm Cottonwood Management.

      The sale netted King James a lot of money, but it’s also a technical loss—a whopping $1.4 million less than the $21 million he paid for the place nearly six years ago, back in October 2015, when he was still serving it up for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

      Nestled on over a half-acre parcel in the affluent Brentwood Park neighborhood—on the same Rockingham Drive that was made infamous by O.J. Simpson all those years ago—the walled and gated estate was built in 2011, and includes a traditional white brick and stone mansion offering views of the surrounding hills.

      Inside, more than 9,000 square feet of living space on two levels is highlighted by a double-height foyer sporting mustard-hued walls, and a wallpapered formal living room with burnt orange curtains. A family room adorned with fuchsia accent chairs opens via two sets of sliding doors to a loggia ideal for al fresco dining, while the kitchen is outfitted with marble countertops and has an adjacent breakfast room. The main level also holds a formal dining room with a fireplace and a second family room, plus a wood-paneled office.

      Scottie Pippen Is Airbnb-ing His $2 Million Chicago Home During the Olympics—for $92 a Night

      There won’t be any spectators in Tokyo for this year’s Olympics, so if you plan on watching, make sure it’s at a grand venue where you can really feel like you’re celebrating the moment. Thankfully, two-time gold medalist Scottie Pippen is opening up his Chicago home to fans through Airbnb, so you can watch the games at the home of a former Olympian.

      It’s a bit of a steal, too, as Pippen’s six-bedroom home is available for $92 a night—a nod to the year he and his teammates won at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona. Fans staying at the Chicago residence can rewatch that moment via archival footage in the movie theater before tuning in to the Tokyo games. Pippen will even virtually greet guests upon their arrival.

      It’s all part of a special, limited-edition package offered through Airbnb, with bookings going live at 1 pm EST on July 22. The experience also includes some take-home swag, as guests will be able to snag a few items from Team USA’s 2020 Medal Stand Collection with Nike so they’ll always remember the trip. Also included in the package is a selection of pre-game foods including fruits and veggies, steak and more.
      You’ll also be able to enjoy the spectacular 10,000-square-foot home, which has a basketball court with an image of Pippen’s old Chicago Bulls jersey emblazoned on the floor.       There are three one-night stays available at Pippen’s home, and they’re timed with the basketball competitions: August 2, August 4 and August 6. If you miss out and are still interested in the property, there’s a chance it will be back on the sale market sooner rather than later—Pippen has been shopping it for years now, and it was last listed for two million. His Florida home has also been on and off the market in recent years, with the NBA star even offering to throw in his 55′ VanDutch yacht in the mix to sweeten the deal.
